The acupuncture itself worked for me, but not for my other half. I believe that it is truly dependent on anyone. My neck pain was brutal and almost felt like nerve pain. During the session it wasn't painful, it was a small pinch but nothing anyone can't handle. After we were finished, my neck was so relieved. It was truly like night and day. Regardless of the acupuncture not being for my partner, she said she would go back for just the cupping and not the needles. So I'm sure next time we are in need of either, this will be the place we go back to! The last thing I will say is that making the payment a sliding scale is so wonderful because everyone can experience this depending on their income! Which makes it inclusive which I really like! It says a lot about her as a healer and person. Try it out! Find out for yourself!

Fast forward to 2026, I was in need of therapy for my neck again. It is definitely something with long flights and using pillows that I am not used to. Anyways, I should have called for a reservation because it is so busy here. I wasn't able to get the therapy this time, but I wanted to leave this long overdue review. The people here seems to really care about your well-being and treat you with kindness. They are located right next to the Waiola shave ice. There are several parking spaces.

Update review: I saw Phi Lan for a few months to treat my migraines. I was having them 1-2 times…read moreper week, and could be debilitating, depending on how severe they were. After the course of treatment, I now only get them maybe once a month or two! A HUGE improvement if you ask me. One particular treatment where I had an active migraine, I could literally feel the pain leave my head as she moved the needles down to transition their flow (prickly sensation) to my feet- it was WILD. Not only did she help reduce my head pain and frequency significantly, but she always presented a very warm and welcoming environment. I'm not entirely a fan of needles, but she eased me into it, and ensured I was comfortable thru out the process (the heated bed helps). She always asked how each needle felt, if it needed more or less pressure, and offered to check in on me halfway thru the treatment. She also did some cupping, which was new to me, and help ease the tension coming down my neck and shoulders. Front desk staff are nice too, they remember you after a few treatments. Definitely recommend Phi Lan for any migraine treatment! She's the best!

I just got a call after being on the waitlist for 8 months, and told they're "going down the list"…read moreto reach out to waitlisted people. I was essentially told I had to decide that minute (like literally THAT MINUTE) if I would accept an upcoming appointment in a few weeks. I'm in treatment with a different acupuncturist - it's been 8 months after all - and I needed a moment to think about this. I wanted to review my care plan and goals after not hearing from this practice for so long. Very much caught off guard. I asked if I could have time to think (I wanted about an hour), and was told no - I would need to decide right then THAT MINUTE - and she needed to proceed down the waitlist. I felt extremely pressured to make a decision on the spot, in a very vulnerable aspect of health care - fertility and women's health. I was about to say yes, and then after thinking about it for the three seconds I had and how unprofessional this all felt - my answer turned to a hard "no." This practice made me feel like a mark, a number, an insignificant person on a list to get through until they hit their client booking goals. I attempted to book an appointment online, but I'm not that techie and I didn't know which therapist would be the best at this type of massage. When I called, Matthew was very patient and helpful. He helped me though the screening process and held my appointment with a credit card number. I received a confirmation by email and text and a reminder on the day of the appointment. The free parking on the Halekauwila Street side of the building was very much appreciated. I found the stairs up to the second floor and entered the comfy, clean environment. Matthew was very welcoming and introduced me to Akiko. She was efficient, polite, and knowledgeable. My session was relaxing and helped my circulation. Supposedly, my immune system was boosted and the toxins will be drained. Thanks for the refreshments after the session! Looking forward to returning!

I've been to therapists in LA, NY, Thailand, Seoul, and Japan, but I always left feeling like they were just scratching the surface. Hawaii Natural Therapy recommended Ashley S. to me to address these issues and she is hands down the best I've ever worked with. She is a total professional with a "quiet strength" that I really appreciated and made me feel completely comfortable & at ease, which let me actually relax despite the good pain! What blew me away was her intuition. I feel like she instinctively knew exactly where to go and didn't just chase the symptoms or the transferred pain; but rather went straight for the root of the issue. She has the kind of strength that is rare to find, and uses it with so much control and technique. I did a 90-minute session with cupping, and a week later, my entire body feels significantly lighter. That decade-old knot is practically on its way out the door. I'll be seeing her regularly from now on every time I'm back home, and I'm already recommending her to everyone I know. If you need someone who truly understands the body and has the strength to back it up, go see Ashley. I cannot recommend her enough! 12/10 P.S. A huge shoutout to the front desk receptionist for being so quick and helpful with my initial inquiry. You guys nailed the recommendation--thank you for introducing me to Ashley!
