We've visited twice so far & both times it was easy to call & put in orders for a Saturday lunch pick up. We've received very friendly & hospitable customer service, & have gotten questions answered. It is a small, narrow restaurant, but there is a good number of small tables. Water & condiments are accessible. Mellow music plays. We've ordered mini meals & 3-item Combos & have so far tried BBQ Chicken, Serious Pulled Pork, Huli Huli Chicken, Katsu Chicken, BBQ Beef, & Koala Chicken. We were able to sub out a scoop of Macaroni Salad for more rice. The order came with teriyaki sauce, katsu sauce, & a creamy garlic sauce or spicy sriracha mayo. EVERYTHING has been SO delicious!!! The chicken dishes are flavorful & succulent, the pork is soft & moist, the katsu has good thickness/coating/texture, & the beef is flavorful & tender. The mac salad is spot on for me. The crunchy salad is shaved cabbage & carrots with a tangy dressing. The sauces are great too! The creamy garlic once came as a sub for spicy mayo for the katsu, the other katsu sauce is unique with a thinner consistency & hint of sweetness (versus being thick with prominent Worcestershire flavor). Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did so for lunch with a friend. We both ordered the two item combo. I had the katsu and oatmeal shrimp, my companion had the bbq chicken and teriyaki chicken. We also had to have spam musubi. The combo comes with Mac and green salads. Both were outstanding. The main event ... the freshly prepared katsu and oatmeal shrimp. Wow such generous portions ! I loved the flavors paired with the accompanying sauces. I barely made a dent in my lunch and happily brought the rest home. I shared it with my partner and we've gotten two more meals out of it. Will definitely return ! read more

In a nutshell; really good bbq that'll be sure to stuff you if you get one of the combo plates. Got take out as I was passing by Rocklin on the way back home and was pleasantly surprised how the lady behind the cashier was still able to accommodate to the customers, shuffle taking online order and take phone calls. Close to $20 for a combo meal but it tasted pretty good and it was decent enough for me to eat in one go despite how filling it was. Establishment was rather neat but I didn't dine in to fully experience how the tables and seats stack but they seem like the usual you find in alike places. Overall if you feel like eating hawaiian bbq and want a filling meal, stop by this place. P.S. it's cheaper to call-in and pay rather than through foodapps. Saves about 5$. Prices have definitely gone up since 4 years ago but I'm glad they survived Covid year and continues to do well. We placed an order for the BBQ Beef and a BBQ Chicken mini meal. I've been here before for the various combo plates. Enjoyed them then, but this time, I was buying dinner for my teen and figured I'd order four pieces of this popular Hawaiian comfort food. They do a great Spam Musubi at $3.29 each. Possibly the best no frills SM I've had. Just Spam, sushi rice, nori and teriyaki sauce (probably the kicker of this dish). Packed tightly without skimping on the nori wrap. Delicious! Way better than the SMs I've had in Oahu. Quick in and out for my to-go order. We enjoyed coming here. The food was very tasty. We ordered 2 COMBOS. The BBQ beef was nice and more moist than expected. The serious pulled pork is minimally altered and doesn't have any heavy sauces. The Huli Huli chicken was very good. It wasn't spicy really but I enjoyed it. It had a nice flavor. The lady who took our order was friendly and helpful. The eat-in experience was interesting. The decor was Hawaiian, and some of the music was also... however there were 2 completely different genres of music playing at the same time, so it was like mixing top 40 songs with Hawaiian music. Best Hawaiian Food. Nothing better. I'm serious. The next best thing is the LL on fairway, but they don't got the flavor and quality of Ohana. I'm not like some expert on Hawaiian food but I do takeout all over sac and surrounding areas because I drive a lot for work. There are only a few places that I would take a special trip just to take it to go, even it's it's not on the way and I have to do a detour, this is one of them. The rice is 10/10. Mac salad is way less greasy than other spots and actually tastes good. The bbq beef doesn't even compare to the others. I've not had a single bad experience here. Aside from coming when they are closed. If I want Hawaiian food I'm coming here. The service is great and they get to know you when you come often. Toilets are clean and the sitting area is good for the space they have. They aren't much more expensive than other spots but the quality of food is much better. Super good, super fresh. Our first time here and it exceeded our expectations. I had the oat fish and katsu and the hubs had katsu and bbq chicken. I LOVED the veggie salad, what ever sesame dressing they put on it is on point. Everything was 10/10 but the macaroni salad was 7/10. It was a little strange to me and I couldn't pin point the flavor or if it had meat in it. It was good but it threw me off. The sauces were amazing too. The food was delicious! Super authentic! I had a combo bbq chicken, bbq beef and shrimp. The sides were light, the rice had the perfect consistency and the protein was so tender and flavor. My wife and I found this restaurant using Yelp sorted by distance. We walked in and ordered from the counter two bbq chickens, one choice plate option. Even though the picture on the wall shows one large chicken, it is actually two large. This was a pleasant surprise as the meal was a large quantity. The meal was served on styrofoam regardless of whether we were dining in. One of the owners greeted us afterward, asking how was the food. I recommended that they not serve the meal on styrofoam, but she commented they don't have enough employees to wash dishes. She was very friendly. In addition to the styrofoam, the chair and tables gave the restaurant a school cafeteria feel. Hence ideal for eating and leaving. Hawaiian music was softly playing in the background. Having said such, my overall meal was delicious and in reasonable portions, so I recommend this place. read more

Was nervous to come and try this out on lunch because of time constraints. Not only was it fast and fresh. But most importantly absolutely delicious. The tenderness of the beef and the balance of the sauce was impeccable. Chicken katsu was great and paired with the spicy mayo was magnificent. Side salad was refreshing. There really wasn't much beef in there and whatever lacked in meat they made up in rice. Usually my husband and I can share a Hawaiian bbq dinner from other like places and be extremely full but this one wasn't as generous in portion. The food did not taste Hawaiian at all to me. The flavor was ok. I expected the huli huli chicken to be spicy, and it wasn't. It was actually pretty salty. The beef was pretty chewy and just ok. Ohana Hawaiian BBQ was pretty good, but the portions are smaller than most Hawaiian bbq I've had. The bbq beef was surprisingly lean, unlike what I've come to expect from Hawaiian bbq. They gave us each a side container of teriyaki sauce without us even asking which was very nice. Can't say it's amazing, but it was solid Hawaiian bbq. In addition to your meat, you get 1 scoop of rice, 1 scoop of mac salad, and 1 small salad with an Asian dressing. You can opt to ask for whatever combo of these 3 sides you want (all rice, 2 rice 1 mac, etc). As far as service goes, the girls working up front were friendly, and I really appreciated how quickly they turned around my order. From order to pickup it took about 10 minutes. There wasn't a wait at all on a Friday around 6:30pm. It was hard to find parking out front because it shares a lot with Pete's brewhouse, but you can park closer to safeway and walk. Will probably be back because I love Hawaiian BBQ and this is the closest to my house. However, I wish the portions were bigger or that they would offer some daily specials. read more
