    Saw this today 5/21/25!

5/21/25: Saw a sign "Coming Soon... 808 Ramen. Aloha Served Daily." Sad to see Ohana go but perhaps same owners, I hope? Looking forward to seeing what this next business venture holds for 808 Ramen. Hope to still see pulled pork on the menu!!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did so for lunch with a friend. We both ordered the two item combo. I had the katsu and oatmeal shrimp, my companion had the bbq chicken and teriyaki chicken. We also had to have spam musubi. The combo comes with Mac and green salads. Both were outstanding. The main event ... the freshly prepared katsu and oatmeal shrimp. Wow such generous portions ! I loved the flavors paired with the accompanying sauces. I barely made a dent in my lunch and happily brought the rest home. I shared it with my partner and we've gotten two more meals out of it. Will definitely return !

In a nutshell; really good bbq that'll be sure to stuff you if you get one of the combo plates. Got take out as I was passing by Rocklin on the way back home and was pleasantly surprised how the lady behind the cashier was still able to accommodate to the customers, shuffle taking online order and take phone calls. Close to $20 for a combo meal but it tasted pretty good and it was decent enough for me to eat in one go despite how filling it was. Establishment was rather neat but I didn't dine in to fully experience how the tables and seats stack but they seem like the usual you find in alike places. Overall if you feel like eating hawaiian bbq and want a filling meal, stop by this place. P.S. it's cheaper to call-in and pay rather than through foodapps. Saves about 5$. Was told by one of the nice ladies so thought to share this as well.

Some Aloha foh dinnah [Rocklin CA] Came here many times in the past (all for takeout because of Covid season), today was the first time we dined in. Prices have definitely gone up since 4 years ago but I'm glad they survived Covid year and continues to do well. We placed an order for the BBQ Beef and a BBQ Chicken mini meal. This is a counter service restaurant. Our food was then served at our table in to go containers. The meat slices of tender beef marinated in Hawaiian BBQ sauce was delicious and flavorful... additionally, we were given extra sauce in a small container. Love, love, love their mac salad. The restaurant interior is clean. Table seating were nicely arranged since the last time I was here where there was no dining in available. Service is always friendly. Review #1475 updated

I've been here before for the various combo plates. Enjoyed them then, but this time, I was buying dinner for my teen and figured I'd order four pieces of this popular Hawaiian comfort food. They do a great Spam Musubi at $3.29 each. Possibly the best no frills SM I've had. Just Spam, sushi rice, nori and teriyaki sauce (probably the kicker of this dish). Packed tightly without skimping on the nori wrap. Delicious! Way better than the SMs I've had in Oahu. Quick in and out for my to-go order. Now, I know where to get great Spam Musubi in our area.

We enjoyed coming here. The food was very tasty. We ordered 2 COMBOS. The BBQ beef was nice and more moist than expected. The serious pulled pork is minimally altered and doesn't have any heavy sauces. The Huli Huli chicken was very good. It wasn't spicy really but I enjoyed it. It had a nice flavor. The lady who took our order was friendly and helpful. The eat-in experience was interesting. The decor was Hawaiian, and some of the music was also... however there were 2 completely different genres of music playing at the same time, so it was like mixing top 40 songs with Hawaiian music. Other than that, our experience was great and the prices are also very reasonable. I would recommend this place to others.

Still the best teriyaki chicken around! I drive from Citrus Heights to eat here. I highly suggest it.

Super good, super fresh. Our first time here and it exceeded our expectations. I had the oat fish and katsu and the hubs had katsu and bbq chicken. I LOVED the veggie salad, what ever sesame dressing they put on it is on point. Everything was 10/10 but the macaroni salad was 7/10. It was a little strange to me and I couldn't pin point the flavor or if it had meat in it. It was good but it threw me off. The sauces were amazing too. Will definitely be a new regular spot for us.

The food was delicious! Super authentic! I had a combo bbq chicken, bbq beef and shrimp. The sides were light, the rice had the perfect consistency and the protein was so tender and flavor. The teriyaki sauce on the side really added to the experience. The spam masubi was pretty good too, I'm not a huge fan of spam but it was a nice appetizer. We had it to go and service was quick. The ambiance really felt like a hidden gem in Hawaii. Highly recommend!!!

Yummy! We ordered for take out. The BBQ Beef and Chicken Katsu were amazing. I didn't care for the side salad, but my boyfriend happily ate that for me. It definitely could use an update inside? Very dusty.. I liked the fact a rubber chicken was used as a food bell when the food was ready xD

My wife and I found this restaurant using Yelp sorted by distance. We walked in and ordered from the counter two bbq chickens, one choice plate option. Even though the picture on the wall shows one large chicken, it is actually two large. This was a pleasant surprise as the meal was a large quantity. The meal was served on styrofoam regardless of whether we were dining in. One of the owners greeted us afterward, asking how was the food. I recommended that they not serve the meal on styrofoam, but she commented they don't have enough employees to wash dishes. She was very friendly. In addition to the styrofoam, the chair and tables gave the restaurant a school cafeteria feel. Hence ideal for eating and leaving. Hawaiian music was softly playing in the background. Having said such, my overall meal was delicious and in reasonable portions, so I recommend this place.

How does it compare to L&L?

Food is way better than L&L. And the customer service is way better too!

Does Hana have Lau Lau, Kalua Pork, Saimin, or Poke? I would hope so, as those are the items I look for in a Hawaiian place!

It has the pork, but not the other items. There are picture of the menu in the listing. It's been very good so far.

I have been to other poki places and nothing compares to the freshness, the flavor... and THE PRICE! I am always satisfied with the flavor and I am so happy that after getting a large bowl (5 scoops of protein!) I have enough to make 2 meals out of it! I always go with their fresh salmon (there is tuna and scallops available as well), but let's start with the base... I have them put in some spring mix in the togo container and then cover that with some white rice. Brown rice is an option as well. Next, you pick your protein. In a separate bowl, they put your protein into it and you have your choice of success they can toss it in. I like a sweet and savory, with some spicy, so I go with sweet and spicy mayo, salty sesame shoyou, sometimes sweet unagi, and definitely add sesame and chili oil... what can I say, I am a saucy girl! Then they put that tossed fresh fish over the base. Then you pick your toppings. There is a soft boiled egg, cucumber, pineapple, crab mix, seaweed salad, kimchee, masago (they also have spicy), jalapenos, green onions, and so many more choices. To top it off, you can add the chili oil, soy sauce, furkake, and crispy wontons. For measly $22 and change your got an easy 2 meals. Please, don't forget to leave a tip! I like to sit inside and eat half here. They are always working hard with online orders and customers walking in. I like to use the chopsticks, but I also get a togo fork as well in case my daughter eats my other half (highly likely!) The biggest reason for this review is that this is the best price around. The best fresh flavor around! If you guys like poki bowls, I absolutely encourage you to come to Chaodown Poki and I promise you'll be a fan, too! The place had a casual and easygoing vibe to it. I ordered the tequenos de pollo as an appetizer and the menu didn't say anything about it having cheese in which was perfect. I got the order and it in fact had cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. There are folks out here with life threatening allergies, so these places need to be careful. I'm glad I'm not one of those people but it's still disappointing.

We decided to try something local and came across Big Island Hawaiian BBQ, which was a close enough drive from where we live so we figured, why not give this spot a try? Overall, we had a really great first experience. The quality of the food stood out right away as everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We were honestly very impressed with how good everything tasted. Even though the portions aren't as packed as some other Hawaiian BBQ spots, the food absolutely hits all the Hawaiian flavors and cravings we love, and we left very satisfied. The pricing was decent (slightly cheaper than other Hawaiian food spots), the interior was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the designated sauce station on top of having sauces at each table for convenience. To top it all off, the Pineapple Dole Whip was the perfect dessert as it was light, refreshing, and such a great finishing touch. Another big thing to note is that they offer Musubi Mondays, where you can get 50% off musubis. My husband immediately noticed the sign for it in the front of the store and was so excited. We thought how it was such a sweet deal that we are already considering coming back on a Monday just for that to stock up on musubis to eat at home. However, there is a max of 2 orders per customer for the Musubi Monday deal, but still totally worth it to try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of portion size compared to other Hawaiian places. The spam musubis are also a bit small in size compared to other places that make spam musubi but the teriyaki sauce that goes with it makes it better! That said, the quality, taste, and overall experience definitely make up for it! This is officially going to be our new go-to spot for Hawaiian food moving forward, and we're excited to come back again soon!
