The milk tea was piping hot! Literally had to let it sit for 5 mins before I can take my 1st sip. It wasn't overly sweet like other places and you can actually taste the flavor of the tea. Also, i love the swivel lid it comes in. I'd definitely order this again, especially on a cold rainy Seattle day. The matcha ice cream red bean crepe was pretty tasty, as well. Ice cream was still in it's ice cream form; surprisingly, it did not melt from the freshly made crepe. The highlight was the croissant taiyaki! I was shocked with the crispness of the outside and the soft and slight chewiness of the inside. We got 2 different ones, 1 with custard cream & the other with matcha ice cream. They were both delightful. Definitely coming back for more of these!

What an adorable little bear themed cafe! Food - Pretty interesting selection of desserts, ranging from crepes to cakes and even boba. Overall I liked the tea, but was underwhelmed by the crepe. The crepe filling itself was decent, but the outside of the crepe had a sort of oil-like film that made it unpleasant to eat through. Overall it was a decent sweet treat. I'll have to come back and try one of their cakes Service - Fairly fast service, you get a number and the number is called out when your food is ready. I do wish the employees spoke a little louder to make it easier to hear them. There isn't a public bathroom available which is a downside since the handheld crepes can get messy sometimes. Ambiance - Small well lit bear themed cafe. Cute for a date or something similar. There's plushies all around the room and small tables to dine in at.

Very cute and quiet little cafe. Very clean. The hot black sesame latte is also really good, especially with the fall weather rolling in.

I visited Oh Bear Tea House a few weeks ago. I liked how the shop was decorated with lots of bear stuffed animals. The drink menu was extensive. There was taiyaki, crepes, sandwiches and few other food items available as well. I got the white peach oolong tea. The peach overpowered the oolong and the drink needed ice. It was a good drink but not great. I'd like to come back next time that I'm in the area and try a different drink to give this business another chance.

Okay, so the cafe is a little crowded but worth the time to make it here. I've been here twice and the egg salad sandwich is that delicious bland flavor I'm looking for. The desserts are okay but could be better. The coffee shines. I had the Thai iced coffee and a dalgona iced coffee and was pleasantly pleased! I also had the little fish shaped dessert with red bean. To die for! Very kind service. Just a lot of stuffed animals that looks like an Asian girl's bedroom exploded but was pleasantly decorated with.

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #61 We visited Oh Bear Café & Teahouse during the last weekend of the U District Cherry Blossom Festival, intrigued by their drink special. Walking in just after lunch, the place was completely empty, and remained desolate as the bobarista prepared our drink. Maybe this is more of an after dinner kind of place? We ordered a single drink special: Rose Oolong Milk Tea With Cherry Blossom Crema, 50% Sugar, Light Ice w/ Boba ($5.50) - The drink is sweet and tastes like rose syrup, making it reminiscent of eating baklava - just add some pistachios and honey and it's there! It's pretty sweet even at half, but not cloyingly so. The drink is topped with a tangy, salty cheese foam and dusted with powdered sakura petals, making it quite fragrant and flowery. The boba is kind of strange in terms of texture. It's a bit leathery and soft, but not mushy. The front teeth bite through the pearls without much of a response back, and yet there's still a decent amount of bounce with the molars, although somewhat leathery. Some parts of the boba stick to the teeth while chewing. It's very strange and I can only recall off the top of my head one other boba shop with this texture - a place in Japan I visited about a decade ago. It's strange, but not unpleasant. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 Based on the other reviews, this place seems to specialized in White Rabbit based drinks. I'll have to revisit to try one of those. Bathrooms - None

Taro and Pork Floss Cake Box

Super cute cafe with asian desserts near UW. I was most intrigued by the taro and pork floss (rou song) cake bc unusual combo but it was surprisingly tasty! I think the sweet/salty balance was good, and the cake was moist. Also ordered a taiyaki with boba filling which was solid - the boba itself was soft and chewy but I think I'd go with taro or something else next time for the filling bc boba doesn't pair as well with taiyaki IMO.

    Matcha strawberry coconut

One of the cutest cafes in the area! Overall vibe is very cozy :) Has lots of cute dolls and decorations around, and also plenty of drinks & desert options. Also selling some stickers and dolls -- great for gift options. Friendly service as well. Tried matcha strawberry coconut. Creamier than I thought but was great!

(From left to right): Tiramisu Coffee, Oreo Smoothie, Lava Mocha Latte

Oh Bear Cafe is one of our favorite places to go in the U District! The unique and cute decor with the bears even being handcrafted and for sale truly makes it one of the best experiences in Seattle. The food and drinks are also excellent , with a wide selection of coffee and iced drinks, as well as handheld foods that are reasonably priced! I loved the Tiramisu Coffee--it's rich while also not being too sweet! Overall, this is one of the must-visit places if you're taking a trip out to UW, or if you're a local looking for a new spot!

    Carmel oat milk with boba.

I got the caramel cream oat latte! I really like that you can modify the amount of sugar that they put in. There were lots of filling options for taiyaki, and I had a hard time choosing between a crepe and boba. Bonus points for the kawaii vibes, plushies and stickers. Friendly service too :)

Came here with a friend but the drinks took quite some time to come out (perhaps they were short staffed) and the boba wasn't that great. Came in on a Sunday. I ordered their white rabbit milk tea with boba at 50% sugar. The tea was ok, didn't have much flavor but maybe it's because I cut the sugar. The boba was kind of mushy, not really too chewy or sweet. Our drink also took over 30 minutes to come out which is on the longer side for boba. The inside is really cute though! Lots of stuffed animals and a little corner with snacks you can buy. We tried ordering their taiyaki but didn't have them available the day we went.

Red Bean Taiyaki Mango Mousse Cake
    Keerthana J.

The Taiyaki was very fluffy and savory with a sweet red bean filling. The red bean was very warming and had the whole beans which I love!! The mango custard was just the right amount of sweet :) Great music vibes and the service was epic!

Red Bean Taiyaki: The taiyaki was very flaky and yummy. It was more oily than I expected. The red bean inside was also a bit too sweet.

Food & drink: (3/5) I've been a loyal lover of the milk cream strawberry since my very first visit, but for some reason it just isn't as good as I remember it being. I would say it's just fine now that I've noticed that they've gotten more watered down. I do enjoy that they still use fresh fruit, but would probably only come back if I was invited by a friend. My partner still really likes his usual which is the mango pomelo sago. I think it's one of their best sellers and is a pretty safe order if you don't know what to get. We didn't get any this time, but I do like their mochi. If you've acquired the taste, the durian mochi is solid. Service: (5/5) Ordering is mostly done through the kiosk at the front but I still appreciate how fast they get things out.

The boba is the perfect chewy texture - not too hard or too soft. I did not try any of their sandwiches (there's so many other yummy options near by!) but it seems like they were selling at a decent clip. If I had to identify a weakness, it would be that a lot of times it seems like they have supply chain issues. They did not have lactose-free milk when I visited the past few times. I hope they work things out! I would have purchased two drinks if I could have substituted the dairy for lactose free.

I ultimately ordered an OG milk tea with honey boba (I was also excited to learn that they use nondairy creamer in their milk teas! I've noticed many other establishments in the area do not). It was delicious! It is more tea-forward and tastes like an earl grey. The boba pearls are perfectly chewy as well. My only critique is that they should add a 30% sweetness option to their sugar adjustments. Otherwise, it was perfect! My new boba spot for sure!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #107…read more I've visited the BobaLust in Lynnwood before and was not impressed. I decided to give them another try, this time at the U District location. Bobalust opens up pretty late for a boba shop - most places start at noon or earlier, but for some reason BobaLust opens at 1PM. This particular location is depressingly dark inside with black painted walls and dark decor. That's a really interesting aesthetic choice (and not my favorite). OG Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Honey Boba ($6.50) - This tea has a strange harsh artificial taste. It's cloyingly sweet and tastes of a very overwhelming kind of flowery and fruity flavor. It doesn't seem to be from the tea and instead may be from either creamer or sweetener. It's overpowering, making the drink very difficult to sip on for my tastes. On top of this strange flavor is a heavy non dairy creamer aroma. It's added in such high quantities that the drink is thickened to almost a cream-like consistency, and has a slight bit of grittiness on the tongue. Even at 50% ice, there's a ton of ice in this drink. After drinking a bit, I went home and added in around 6 ounces of English Breakfast tea and it tempered things down enough to be pleasant. The boba isn't great either. They claim it's honey boba but while the pearls are very heavily sweetened in marinade, I can't detect any honey aroma whatsoever. The texture of the pearls are firm and almost gummy rather than being soft, chewy, and bouncy. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 I'm still not impressed with this chain. There are way better options in the area for basic milk tea and boba. BobaLust remains in my bottom five boba shops in the Greater Seattle Area out of approximately 100 shops. Bathrooms - One mixed gender bathroom with two stalls.
