    Ogunquit playhouse

This show was fantastic! 5 stars. This was our 1st time seeing a show here. The performers were incredibly talented. They all sang beautifully. Truly an unforgettable experience I won't forget. Will be back!

Waitress - A vertical display case with a spiral structure inside, illuminated by blue lighting, is positioned against a colorful, patterned wall featuring abstract shapes and textures. The display case appears to be in an indoor setting, possibly a museum or exhibit space, with a dark background and a patterned floor nearby.

I love this playhouse. I have been coming here for over 20 years now. The theatre is pretty big but enough to make it cozy. They sell drinks and a few snacks. They always sell souvenirs like t shirts, cups, sweatshirts, stickers, for example. The people working here are friendly and helpful as can be. Parking here isn't bad. They ask you if you are leaving by north or south so they can direct you the best place to park. Leaving here is not so bad as other big venues like Gillette Stadium in Fox-borough MA. I came on the last night of Waitress yesterday and I enjoyed it so much! It's a wonderful local playhouse. The actors are always Great!! This one was especially Awesome!! I had tears in my eyes at the end. It was that good! I would recommend coming here if you never have experienced it. I will be back.

Seats and Stage - The image shows a theater stage with a set designed to resemble a storage or attic space, featuring numerous vintage suitcases, boxes, and framed pictures. The stage is illuminated by overhead spotlights, and a staircase leads to an upper level. Audience members are seated in the foreground, facing the stage, with some taking notes or observing the scene. The theater has a rustic, historic ambiance with wooden flooring and a high ceiling.

Worth every penny. We saw Come From Away and it was as good as Broadway from Set Design to Acting and Singing. Will go every time we visit.

    Singin' in the Rain program

Singin' in the Rain has always been one of my favorite movies and the show at Ogunquit Playhouse really did it justice. On the evening we attended, Gene Kelly's wife introduced the show which was so unexpected and raised the the experience to the next level. The performances were spectacular: the singing, tap dancing, and physical comedy were all Broadway quality. Christian Probst, the actor that played Cosmo, really stole the show with Make 'em Laugh, although Max Clayton's Singin' in the Rain, complete with rain(!) was a close second. The playhouse itself is a delight. We got there a little early to enjoy the well manicured grounds and the outdoor bar/patio and everyone we interacted with was helpful. They also sent an email with all the details just before the show explaining the parking, the purchase of drinks/snacks must be done with a card, etc. The headshots of former performers like Tallulah Bankhead and Christopher Plummer in the entryway serve as reminders that the history of the Ogunquit Playhouse makes it even more special. They really seem to have everything down here--my only wish is that they had velvet ropes or something similar to make entering the theater itself more organized. Once the doors opened, it was just a mad dash to the people checking tickets. Otherwise, the show we saw was Broadway quality on a smaller scale which made for a perfect evening. We are so fortunate to have this gem of a venue in Maine!

My partner and I had the pleasure of checking out the Oguntquit Playhouse over the weekend to catch "On Your Feet," and wow, were we in for an incredible treat. We were both taken aback by how friendly and helpful the volunteers were - it really set a welcoming tone for the evening. The show was beyond impressive. The quality and caliber of the performance left us completely blown away. Last time I experienced something like this was in NYC, on Broadway. The venue itself was beautiful. It felt like walking back in time. Also, we loved ordering our drinks from the outdoor gazebos, during intermission. It added a touch of magic to our night. I was a bit worried about parking after getting an email before the performance saying it could be tricky, but even that turned out to be a non-issue. Everything was organized and efficient, which made the evening even more enjoyable. we are excited our next visit to the Oguntquit Playhouse. This place truly knows how to deliver a fantastic theater experience that goes beyond the stage.

Night scene outside Ogunquit Playhouse, a historic theater, with a group of people waiting in line near the entrance. The building features green awnings over the doors and a large illuminated sign displaying the theater's name. Several flags are mounted on the roofline, and the area is lit by exterior lighting, with some plants in large pots near the entrance.

Absolutely lovely venue. Visited on a beautiful fall night to see Beautiful, the Carole King Musical. A spectacular performance! Very friendly and helpful staff. The historical building is well maintained with additional outdoor restrooms to accommodate intermission. Looking forward to next season!

Cher - A large audience is seated in a theater, facing a stage illuminated with blue neon lighting. The stage features a circular logo design created with neon lights, and the theater has a modern, industrial interior with visible ceiling fixtures and railings on either side of the stage. Some audience members are taking photos or videos of the stage.

Had a fantastic experience here watching Cher. The lights in this theater are absolutely spectacular - you know, the lightbulb Hollywood theatrical ones? The talent was fantastic. The seats were decently comfy and I could see the whole stage - maybe because an older short lady was sitting in front of me thankfully. The crowd was terrific. I liked all the history and pictures around the theater. Great about masks and safety. Hand sanitizer everywhere.

Excellent play, I highly recommend going to see it. - A printed playbill for a theatrical production of 'The Da Vinci Code' at Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. The playbill displays the title prominently in large yellow letters, with adaptation credits to Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel, and notes that it is based on the novel by Dan Brown. The bottom section includes the Ogunquit Playhouse logo, sponsorship details, and the performance dates from August 24 to September 23. The background of the playbill is dark with some red splatter design elements, and it is held in a person's hand inside a theater setting.

My wife and I saw The Da Vinci Code here Saturday afternoon. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The sight lines are fantastic and there's not a bad seat in the house. The play was excellent, and the actors were tremendous. My only gripe is you can get stuck in the parking lot if the people parked around you are slow to get back to their cars. But overall, the Ogunquit Playhouse is a fantastic place to see a show.

Young Frankenstein!! - Colorful promotional poster for the musical 'Young Frankenstein' at Ogunquit Playhouse, displaying images of Sally Struthers and John Bolton in circular frames. The poster includes the show's title in large, illuminated letters, along with production credits, dates from October 6 to 31, and the theater's address and contact information. The background features a lightning storm design, emphasizing a theatrical and dramatic theme.

Wow, we saw "Young Frankenstein" at the "outdoor" tent at the Ogunquit Playhouse and were impressed with the venue and production. We've never sat inside, so can't compare, but it felt that they created a first rate theater experience under the tent. Lighting, sound and stage were excellent. We saw a matinee on a chilly afternoon, so I can see that it could get pretty cold for the evening performances. They leave the large doors open so there is plenty of airflow and masks are required. This was our first theater experience since the pandemic began, and we felt very comfortable. The production itself was a hoot, and even better than the movie. It was a musical, not my favorite genre, but this really worked, Talented performers, made for a fun and memorable evening. Do not hesitate!!

Great evening... - A colorful flyer promoting Jimmy Buffett's musical 'Escape to Margaritaville' at Ogunquit Playhouse, featuring the show's title, authors, and dates from July 14 to August 28. The flyer includes the venue's address, contact information, and sponsor logos at the bottom, with a stylized bird graphic at the top.

Left York on the new Shorts Sand Road to attend Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville. What a joy... this theater has gone out of there way during Covid by installing a huge outdoor tent to bring back live theater to Southern Maine! We had seats three from the back row and then someone told us we could move forward as it was not a sold out show. I think people are a little hesitant about indoor seating during this period of time and now we have to wear masks again because some won't get the vaccine. The view was good and the sound of the music was just great... including all the great music of Jimmy Buffett. Sometimes the words were a little muffled all in all it was a great evening. They had two areas for purchasing cocktails, an area for souvenirs and an area for taking selfies. Looking forward to next year when we can get back into this wonderful historical theater in Ogunquit Maine!

DaVinci Code American premiere - The image shows a theater stage with a large projection of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man on the back wall. The stage is surrounded by dark walls with small wall-mounted lights, and the ceiling has spotlights directed downward. The projection is centered, and the stage floor has a faint circular marking. The setting appears to be an auditorium or performance space with a focus on art or science themes.

Charming old summer stock theater that keeps both talented actors and audiences coming back summer after summer. Does it look a bit like a high school auditorium? Yes. Is the parking system unusual and potentially frustrating? Also yes. However, it is run with skill and love and you're going to get a far better quality of performance-- acting, set design, special effects, etc.-- than you could reasonably expect in a beach town in Maine. If the parking worries you, park in town and walk to the theater. There are sidewalks all the way so it's quite doable.

The playhouse is a one of a kind gem. Just go. You won't regret it. Even if you don't love musicals. Smile and relax, enjoy.
