This school is not good for its word. I had an appointment for 6 p.m. with Cinderella on Dec 1. I called at 5 p.m. to confirm my appointment. I was told that I was in the appointment book, but that because the stylist was no longer there, there would not be anyone to see me tonight. My issue is, I would have driven 30 minutes for an appointment that I had made 4 weeks ago, would have shown up and there would not have been anyone to cut my hair. I received an apology with an offer to schedule another appointment. Suppose I rescheduled and showed up and no one was available to cut my hair. Normally go to the Hulen location, tried this location on the way home from work for a simple haircut and I will never go again. I couldn't tell you who cut my hair, because she never introduced herself. She barely spoke to me, she acted like she was bothered to cut my hair. When the instructor was checking her cut and was trying to show her what she missed she was too busy on her phone to look at what she missed. I had to remind her to cut my bangs, which I just gave up on because she acted like she didn't know what to do. And then had the nerve to ask me how my hair was just sitting in the chair, like I could see the back of my head. I will never return here. I came to Ogle yesterday to get my hair highlighted, conditioned, and cut. It took longer than I thought it would but to be fair I have a ton of thick, long hair and I got full highlights. And they are students. So it's not unexpected that it would take a little longer. The girl who did my hair was named Monique and she did a great job. She was very friendly. read more

Being in the industry for over a decade I finally decided to work towards my license and I couldn't have been happier that I chose to go to Ogle in Hurst. I have met many Ogle alumni throughout the years and their work spoke great volume about their education. The instructors are amazing and are always ready to work one on one with you. If there was any advice to anyone that was looking for a school that offers their students so many awesome opportunities and that hold incredible pride in their students it would be to go to Ogle, any Ogle, but if you can Ogle in Hurst is the best. ;) read more

Came in today and it was my first visit. I'm going out of town and needed my haircut before my trip. They got me an appointment and Morgan my stylist was very nice to work with. I have been here countless times and everyone is super friendly. You just have to remember that this is a learning school and the instructors are wonderful! They are always willing to help and are always around when you have a question. The students for the most part are knowledgeable and confident in their skills. I have been visiting this Ogle for the past two years and have always had a pleasant experience. They are knowledgeable of their products and if a student is not familiar with something, the instructors will be available to assist. I have my hair cut, gray retouched, updos, all over color and appreciate it every time and the savings! I had to reschedule my appointment but every time I called to reschedule it they never showed the original appointment. Every time I called, I confirmed the date and time and they told me that I was booked but when I arrived they did not show my appointment and since they were booked for the day they could not accommodate me. Where do I begin? The best experience I had at that location Was with a student named Khris. He treated me with care and was extremely kind. He was so great, I made a new appointment to see him Thursday. When I called to confirm my time, the girl working The desk said I didn't have an appointment? She got a second person to help me and all she said was "sorry, your only option is to come see someone else"! Long story short, they Screwd up by placing my daughter's name instead Of mine and made me feel like I was nothing when I tried to convince them I had prove that I had an appointment. .. the girl just passed me off to Mrs. York. She was worst than the last two I dealt with. She said I cursed her student and that she was going to remove my name or should I say my daughter's name off the book. All I wanted was an apology for being told I was wrong and basically they tried to pass me off like I don't spend money there every chance I get. Mrs. York was very rude and just had an ignorant tone with me, was repeating herself like I was a child than told me not to forget her name after I asked for her Manager. She didn't try to listen to me as a loyal customer, just hung up on me. I had my husband call back and ask for the Salon Managers VM and Mrs. York would not transfer him, said the office is closed. I can't believe all the stress they put me through, and all I needed to do was confirm my appointment time. And all this was their mistake! Ms. York, if you read this, and I'm sure you will... please check yourself or find a career you can really enjoy because a smile can only cover misery for so long. Hope you feel better. It is with a heavy heart I write this review. I have been going to Ogle in Hurst for years just to have my hair washed and blow dried. I've had shoulder replacement with one shoulder but need the other replaced. I can't raise my arms over my head. So,, it seemed like a good choice to have it washed and dried every week there. It's been over 3 years I've been coming. For the most part, it's been great with only a few 'not so good' results. About a year ago, a student suggested I put curls in my hair. My hair is long and she did it with the blow dryer and a brush. I was informed at one appointment that there would be an additional $13 charge because it was considered a 'specialty style'. Ok...so the payment went up. When that happened I requested the curls be done with a curling iron...same charge as with blow dryer. Two weeks before my last stylist graduated, I asked her to give me the details of what she used and how she achieved the style so I could pass it along to the next stylist student. So, when I went to the flowing appointment, the new stylist took 4 hours to wash/dry/curl my hair! She told me she'd never done anything like it before. It's a school, so I sat there for the 4 hours without complaint. (note: it was about an hour and a half for the previous student), When I checked out, an instructor (short red hair) informed me that future appointments would require an additional $13. What? I've been going there all this time with the same hair length and now an additional $23 dollars per week so the total went to over $33. I told them I would need to rethink my services. So, this week, I went in and said I would go back to my original wash and blow dry...no special or requests. I am at the wash bowl when this same instructor comes up and tells me...not the student...that I can only have my hair shampooed twice...not three times. She wasn't nice...more of an accusatory tone. I was shocked and informed her (same short red head) that I wasn't requesting my hair be washed 3 times. It was only being washed twice. She ignored my statement and continued to rant about 3 washings....I again told her my hair was being washed twice. She then said she could see 'ALL THE SHAMPOO' that was sitting there and that there were more than two. I again told her I was only washing my hair twice. However, unknown to me, the previous student was using 3 different shampoos but only washing my hair twice. I had no way of knowing that ... when I wrote down the instructions to give to my new student two weeks prior...that was the first time I had heard about it. I didn't even think anything about it because she said she was using some purple shampoo on the ends of my hair. However, this totally unprofessional supervisor automatically jumped me for the student making a choice to use one than more shampoo. I told her I was done talking to her and if my hair wasn't soapy and wet I would leave right then. She never asked the student anything about why there were 3 shampoos being used. Jumped me instead like i had requested it or something. Now, in the three years I'd been going I always had a good rapport with all the instructors and students. Laughed and joked with many. This supervisor, in my opinion, doesn't need to be teaching students to be nasty and hateful. After 3 years, I'm not returning until I learn she has left the school. Oh, and I called a salon right across the street and was told I could get a shampoo/dry/curl style for $28. That's a savings to me. read more

Terrible service! I went to this school to have highlight done. The student (her name is Harmony) was terrible! Very lazy and loud! She was complaining that she was hungry all the time and talking to the other student (gossiping) in front of me. She didn't even want to cut my hair and told me to come on the next day because she was tired. Her instructor was even worse, very rude!!! When she was done with my hair she acted like her work was awesome and it cleared was not. I looked worse than when I came in. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They do not care about the client at all!!! It's better for you to pay more and have someone who knows what they are doing take care of your hair. read more

totally agree with nicolle c, this place doesn't even deserve a star!!!!! worst experience ever!!!! i understand these are students, but a i really feel that the instructors need to pay more attention on the students while they are working on clients hair. clients are paying money for their hair style and if they notice that a student is go slow on lets say putting dye into the hair offer ways to speed up the process! also, if a clients appointment is set for 6pm and they close at 10 pm the teachers should not try to rush the client, they should assist the student with the process so the desired look can be completed by closing time. also, teachers should not be rude or yell at clients, totally unprofessional. they have these students on the floor with barely any supervision and then want to tell the client that all the services that were promised will not be completed after they have just sat in the chair for over 2 hours while the student put a few lo lights and overall color ( and i know my student is slow because the girl that came to help her did one side of my hair in a quarter of the time that my student did the other side). overall, this is the worst hair school you could ever get your hair done!!!! and to top it the students were talking about their teachers badly right next to where i was sitting and then they were dancing around like playground kids. read more

Then this morning on day of prom they call tell her the student is out and they can't help us. I would recommend don't make an appointment if it's for an important event since they lack customer service and integrity. read more

I colored my hair and messed it up real bad, had several colors,non where what I wanted. My friend told me to go to Ogle school they could fix it. I was getting irritated and having a difficult time finding a salon to fit me in for an appointment, with an important day ahead I remembered Ogle, they got me in early in the morning, my stylist was so friendly and amazingly knowledgeable, I went to Beauty college back in 07 ( at a different school) I was impressed with the instructors and the feel of the place was energetic with great music playing in the background, though not too loud, my stylist did EXACTLY what I wanted and didn't make a move without confirming it with me! the instructors were right there if she needed anything I really liked that, although she did well on her own, I kept asking her, her thoughts, because I wanted to see what she would recommend after our conversations and see if she really got me, she did! After my highlights and trim she styled my hair perfectly! I left feeling and looking great! I made another appointment before I left I am looking forward to my new look ! I wish I could remember their names and give them credit, but as I met about 20 other people after leaving there the names escape me! I will definitely write them down after my next visit, because I believe in giving credit where credit is due! read more

As someone who has been a part of the industry for over a decade and just now deciding to work towards receiving my license I must say it was the best decision I have ever made. I have come across many Ogle alumni throughout the years and I have yet to meet anyone that didn't represent the school amazingly. I felt incredibly comfortable from the start from the amazing classmates to the extraordinarily talented instructors. They give you great one on one treatment and care about their students. I would strongly suggest anyone that is throwing around the idea around of becoming a hairdresser please get in touch with the staff at Ogle in Hurst. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I've been to ogle before and I totally understand that me going to a school may mean I won't get the results I want. The woman who took care of barely talked to me she had her ear buds in and was talking on the phone I was there from 9-4 I was there to try and get an ombré which didn't happen at all because I had blue tips and the color wouldn't come out. The problem is though that the lady taking care of would put in the toner or whatever it is she was doing and go outside she would late come back 30 minutes later to rinse my hair off and with absolutely no conversation. After I decided to leave my hair how it came out I asked for a trim since it had gotten damaged from all the toner it took her AN HOUR to trim an inch off!!! It was also crooked so she had the teacher who k recall was Mrs.M help her out, if she's the one teaching them then God help every salon out there SHE CUT MY HAIR EXTREMELY CROOKED EVEN MORE THAN THE STUDENT. I ended up paying 66 with a tip, but I didn't notice how bad my hair was cut because they sent me home with wet hair my hair is all one layer but the front is 2 inches shorter than the back they did it 'rounded' at the front when I asked for a straight trim. Now I have to go to an actual salon pay a lot of money to see how they can fix this mess. I've always been the kind of person that doesn't mind experimenting with hair or going to a school to get it done but how can you trust a school where the teachers aren't even involved and the students are continuously leaving their clients and doing what ever they choose to their hair. And not even offering a discount or anything if I'm paying for someone to mess up my hair might as well do it myself. read more

Despite the scoring above, I give this school 0... Yes, 0 stars!!!! I had to give them a star to publish my statement. They are a waste of time and have horrible customer service. I waited for 40 min (past my apt time) for my apt. When I was finally called, I was met w/a girl w/a MOHAWK to style my hair!!!! I was then informed that if my daughter (very quietly playing her DSI) was going to stay, she would need to receive a service!!!!! REALLY?! Who exactly was avail to perform that service since they had a waiting room full of women that had waited as long (if not longer) than I had! After that extensive of a wait, they should be offering me a $10 voucher! Instead they insult me and my daughter, who has been there w/me in the past without incident. I have overlooked their mishaps in the past because they are a school, but this was completely unacceptable! If you value your time and your hair, please just go to a REAL salon. Leave these idiots to play dress up on their time and dollar. You will thank yourself, I promise!! Oogle, you should really treat people with more respect! Have a nice day! :) read more

A very bad experience two times....First they cut my hair 80% of what i told and even then teacher didn't work on it and charged me double amount saying that you have long hair as they made my hair upto my neck....and again i went next time thought the first mistake was made by student as they r learning so next time i went on my scheduled time n was on line for my turn and they were telling that i am late n they cannot accept me for facial as i was scheduled before one week and i againcalled them before i went there and they told you can come and after my many request they did but gave me 8 pages form to fill n did 5 min simple massage on my face and charged full amount.....so disgusting n even dont use my 50%discount coupon n the one who is in the reception she reacted so shoutly n made me scared....this is what happened with me two times...i dont like the teacher of day class even she cut my all hair n still not even sorry for that and chared double amount n the one in the reception she may b student my god....so disgusting....so bad experience ever... read more
