Service: Make-up application Pros: Student was very friendly, clean facility Cons: Charged for full glamour make-up although I had my own lashes, the student had to use her personal supply of make-up so the color options were extremely limited, ***instructor did not supervise or check up on completed results***, no tipping accepted on credit cards. I came in for contouring make-up and was surprised that I wasn't given advance notice to come in with a clean face. Make-up was applied OVER my existing light foundation and I left feeling heavy and greasy. Not only did I not receive the contouring look I had asked for, but the bare minimum that was applied left me looking even paler than when I came in. Zero cheekbones. Zero dramatic eyes. Just a pale, greenish monotone skin color with very unflattering orange-red lipstick. What bothered me the most was the instructor signing off on the make-up without actually looking at it or talking to me. I also didn't appreciate paying for the maximum glamour look when that isn't what I received; especially since I had on my own lashes and applied the bottom lash mascara myself. read more

After many years I booked an appointment at Ogle School in Hurst because my last facial there was so good. This time it was excellent! Violet is about to graduate and she is an excellent esthetician. I foresee bright career ahead. I also had my face waxed my brows look fabulous thanks to Ms Shines and her Brian's perfectionist instructor. I think her name is Robyn. I booked a microdermabrasion session in a couple of weeks as well as eyelash treatment. I'm looking forward to it. read more

As a licensed esthetician who graduated ogle hurst, DONT go here for esthetics. I spent 15k to then learn almost NOTHING and I only pasted the test due to my own studying off of psi. When I first started class I was told I would be prepared and confident to take the test and get a job and at first it was wonderful. My first instructor was Danielle Schneider, and I actually learned, I was excited about esthetics and was taught something everyday. Then I moved to Robin Tooleys class, and at first I was excited. I had a good relationship with her and was excited to learn more about the test and getting a job and taking clients, and she would always say what she had planned to teach that day. However she never taught. Day after day was the class staring at her stare at her phone. She played favorites all the time and was so nice and friends with the higher ups and other instructors and then say how much she hated them and how annoying they were as soon as they left the room. And don't even try bringing it up to the director or others in charge, because it will just get spun that you are the problem and nothing will ever get done about it. This school robbed me of 15k and didn't prepare me for my career. If you want to spend 15k to go back to highschool and sit around for most of your time there than this is the place for you, otherwise go to a cheaper school, buy milady text books and psi study material and teach yourself. Because even if you get on good terms with any other instructor there that actually teaches and try to go to them to learn you will be punished for it. Save your money and go to a different campus or school. read more

My 13 yr old son had an appointment here last night for a haircut. A pretty straight forward men's haircut. We were there for two hours. I liked the student we got, she was very personable, and listened to what he wanted. After checking in with her instructor, she started the haircut. Everything seemed to be going fine. Then I noticed that a different instructor basically took over the haircut, and it appeared that she was showing other students some techniques. I wasn't really put out with that, because it is a school, after all. The instructor used clippers throughout. I found out later that she used it without any kind of guard- I was seated in the waiting area and could only see clippers and didn't see the lack of a guard. My son told me later about it not having one. After it was finished and my son walked over to me, I had him turn so I could see the back. And immediately said "Oh my God!" Because the instructor had cut/burned his neck with the clippers. The instructor was completely unapologetic and in fact stated things like "He has very sensitive skin", "This happens all the time", "This is a school, the students are learning", "It's not that bad". Both the instructors present were rude and defensive. I responded that the student didn't do that to his neck, that the other instructor did. I also refused to pay and stated that "No, this doesn't happen all the time". I was told "Well in that case you can't come back here if you're not going to pay". I feel very strongly that people need to know what the instructors here are like. This was an evening appointment. Update- I contacted Ogle in addition to this review and have never heard back. They really don't seem to care about how their school is being run. read more

They don't even deserve this star!!! I went for a color treatment. Not bleach. Not a hair cut. Nothing but dye. And I asked for a senior student because I have had really bad experiences before. This one tops the cake!! The girl suggest she use bleach before the dye claimed she was an "expert" I had to give her pointers about even laying it on to NOT start at my undyed roots or she will make them too bright. Then! After she plasters this bleach on she leaves to go stuff her face for an HOUR AND A HALF. Leaving my hair to FRY. After that she then proceed to shred my hair with a hair brush because my hair is curly and she wanted it straight for the due. But she didn't use conditioner so breaks off 8 INCHES!! 8!!! Off ONE side of my head!!!! And then they cover it up by styling my hair to the opposite side like I wouldn't notice!! I posted a photo of my long red hair completely uneven by 8"!! This school is the place to get great service at a great price. These students are fresh with knowledge and in need of good experiences. If you need something extreme I would suggest a professional who has been doing hair for many many years but a haircut, shave, color and style are pieces of cake for these people. I trust them and I am required for my job to take photos with hundreds of people everyday! (Gotta look perfect) I've never had a problem here. They use the best hair coloring products and give great advice about which products help and which ones hurt your hair. The school is always clean and students keep there stations neat and organized. My favorite stylist is London and she will be graduating come June. It's been great getting to know her and her journey in this establishment, makes getting my hair done a treat and nice experience. I love that I'm getting professional work done for a lower price and you also are helping out a student at the same time. Hair cuts are always nice, i have also done multiple deep conditioning treatments and they leave my hair so smooth and soft. This was by far the WORST place I have ever been. From the start they were very rude and disrespectful. Before I even sat down in the chair I debated leaving because I just had a feeling it wasn't going to go very well... I should have listened to my instincts because the entire experience was awful. They were very rushed and messy. I had bleach all over my face and it was splattered near my eyes numerous times. They made me leave with wet and unfinished hair. I came in for a touch up on my blonde hair and they refused to refresh the blonde I previously had. It only gets worse.... I mentioned to them plenty of times that I was leaving town the next day and they left me with YELLOW hair. Then told me to come back a few days later to get it toned again and I repeatedly told them I can't due to me leaving. The instructor(who was working on my hair) told me it was okay and we would tone it again after the haircut.... that never happened. Plenty of people around told her I needed to be toned again and she just kept saying it would be done another day. Keep in mind this was an $80 visit... Overall, this was the WORST experience I have ever had at an academy and I will 100% never come back again nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

Had NO idea about all the services this school offers! My mom was going to get eyelashes put on and I tagged along and then ended up getting mine done as well. The prices can't be beat - but sometimes you get what you pay for. Would I trust my hair to someone here? Absolutely not. But I would definitely go for the other services: waxing makeup eyes tabbed eyelash tint facials peels back treatment mani pedi Just know to plan your day around a service taking at least double what it would somewhere else, they are very slow. I got an amazing haircut from Rocio tonight! It was very apparent that she is taking her education at Ogle very seriously and it shows! I got a blunt bob which is not an easy cut to do, but she killed it! Honestly I showed her the cut that I "wanted" but it was actually a picture longer than what I wanted, as my experience has taught me that almost every hair stylist cuts too short. She made it very clear that she was going to start cutting long "because I can keep cutting shorter but I can't make it longer" which was honestly music to my ears! I ended up showing her the actual cut that I wanted and she was able to capture the cut perfectly! She struggled just a tiny bit but made sure her instructor helped her fix the problem as well as watched carefully so she could learn. I'm very happy with my new look and will keep going back to Rocio! I will definitely be following her to her future salons (I'm sorry, Ogle, you've trained her too well!) read more

I've gone here many times and usually love my stylist so I decided to make an Appointment for my son. My appointment was at 6pm so naturally I'm 15 minutes early. We were told our stylist hadn't arrive yet and to have a seat. 5 til 6, still no stylist and I see them preparing to set my son up with other people. 6pm rolls in we see our stylist finally come through the door, we had to wait another 10 mins for us to be seen so he could be set up. His name was Jose. I guess since he is male use doing boy cuts that is why they set us up with him. He comes to get us and still doesn't have everything ready, asks a girl if she could use her apron but she didn't have another one. I notice he has 3-4 hickeys on his neck clearly viewable. Not exactly professional, yeah you're a student but uh you're in your last few months or hours professionalism at work should've been taught already. Not something young pre teen needs to notice. I ask him to give my son a gentleman's cut with it leaning to the right. He didn't know what that was but knew once I showed him a pic. He did really well, except the fact that it took 1 hour to cut my sons already existing grown out gentleman's cut. He was complaining by the end of it how long it took. I appreciate the attention to detail but in that hour he didn't even get a shampoo wash nor was offered like I usually am at the same price. All in all, happy with the cut.. not so much the professionalism and wait time. read more

If you want to never have instructors, watch people attempt assault with a deadly weapon (and return the next day) , get threatened to be killed (once again student returned next day ) , and can learn using YouTube videos this is the place . I'm a recent graduate and I really really wanted to love this place . 23000 later I'm am very disappointed. There's a huge issue with staffing, safety, the items used , constant booking issues , etc . I hope growth comes at one point . If your a self teacher this is the place for you . read more

I have been a regular client of Ogle for years at this location. I even tried switching to a hair school in Keller that is just a 10 minute drive from my house but I never left satisfied and after 3 tries, I retuned to Ogle where they are consistent in the quality of product and the students performance. I have long and thick hair so I do pay extra but I save so much money going to Ogle vs. a salon. Yes, it does take approximately 3-4 hours to do a root touch up but I feel that my visits build the student's confidence while gaining experience. Today, I had a wonderful student, Allison M. who in my opinion, is ready to start her career. She was professional and personable. She took the time to make sure my hair was perfect when I left. read more

Students didn't seem willing to ask instructors for help, and although they paid slightly more attention to the clients here than at the Park Row location, they were still mostly socializing and did a real number on my long layers (which only needed a trim - no new shaping). read more
