I don't go to the students for chemical services like relaxers because I wear my natural texture. When I want it flat ironed straight I like going to Ogle. My tips to the stylist who worked with me today on what Ogle calls a "silk press" (wash,blow dry, flat iron) 1)start the process once your client is in the chair instead of just hanging out waiting for an instructor to sign a paper 2) ask your client what style before starting 3) don't simultaneously play and text on your phone when you're already pretty slow at each step. 4) speed and technique come with experience so pay attention to your client not your phone, Ogle is not high school. To the instructor at Arlington, try doing like the instructor at the Dallas locations and the location in Denton and INSTRUCT the students. Help them be successful. Good grief. I took a lady friend in 90s. Just today after about a year absence. I have returned. It is nice to see the appointment system works far better. The nice and thoughtful young lady Brianne did my haircut and I was not even assigned to her. In the old days that use to be a literal 8 hour deal for my friend and that was torture for me. . I am certainly grateful they can go from elaborate hair with those little chewing gum wrapper foils to doing a simple military hair cut. You are sadly cheaper than a military base anymore. I had my haircut at Ogles in Arlington about a month ago. the student left split ends throughout my hair even though I told her getting rid of the split ends was the reason I came in. I tried calling Ogles later to let them be aware of the split ends left and that the student did NOT get an instructor to check their work before I left. since I've been an Ogles customer for many years, I returned today for a bangs trim. the instructor checked the work at the end of the cut and the student did a good job. restored my faith in Ogles. I always have a pleasant experience when I go to get my hair done here. I'm a regular customer every two weeks - it saves me money off full-priced salons & allows the students to get experience so I consider it a win-win! Pleasant atmosphere, they're always welcoming and greeting you at the door. The teachers monitor and check the stylist's work and are available to ask questions if needed. They also offer a discount if you book your next appointment before you leave. They do it all, cut, color, perms, etc. There's also an aesthetician, but I haven't tried the facials yet. Try it you might get hooked! My current stylist is Brittany Alsandor and she's great, very personable and nails my curls every time! I've come to Ogle a handful of times not and have never had a negative experience! The front desk girls are kind and helpful! I went in for Bree Jones to do a trim, wash and style. She did so good and explained the products she was using in my hair. She gave me a few tips on how to manage by hair better as well! She took her time and we took some pictures afterwards and I absolutely loved it and got compliments throughout the day! Although I came in for Bree, the student in the station next to her, Dani, also greeted me which I found very pleasant! The next girl I came in to see was Zoey L for a 30 minute facial, a brow tent, and a 60 minute facial (all separate appointments). I felt so comfortable with Zoey, she's so kind and helpful. I was a customer earlier and was Shocked that they used such RAGGITY Towels to place on my head & neck. Discolored with holes so Embarrassing I can't Imagine how these students pay Abundant Tutition amounts and are forced to Represent themselves with these HIDEOUS Towels. It appears that this has been a point of conversation before as other patrons have made comments about it Please don't Blame the Students! I would like to update with additional informational regarding this Ogle School location at 2200 W Park Row, Arlington Texas 76013. There are sanitation issues that a official authority should follow up with. This should be 1st and foremost a standard practice in a beauty school having on hand a plentiful of soap, paper towels and gloves among other necessary items for student to perform services and training using standard practice sanitation. Keeping the floors swept and mopped daily should be a priority but I've never once in 6 months seen the floor being mopped or cleaned not once. The school should be a safe environment always but especially during renovations, however we were subjected to dust from the renovation, fumes of unknown, hanging electrical wires, debris and equipment and tools laying around. And classes were in session while moving all around the mess. I have attached photos. Please, consider all of your options when selecting your school, this location is a disaster and the administration at this facility with the exception of two people just haven't what it takes to master a school producing values and expectations of success listed in there own policy handbook, which are pretty basic: Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Service to the Customer. Training and development isn't student-centered and definitely not of the highest caliber, at least not at this particular location in Arlington Texas. Skylar has a very calming presence, she was very professional and walked me through each step of the process. A close friend of mine always goes to this school to get her hair washed and a pressed/flat ironed. On one Saturday they were having a special on washes and silk press. I decided to try it out. When I got to the school it was already crowded and there were only a few spaces left with the students. This must be a deal a lot of people knew about or they just have a big clientele. I can't remember the student who did my hair but she was friendly and very talented. The service didn't seem to take to long but the results were pretty good. I have very think hair so I knew it was going to be a challenge to get it super straight. I would certainly go back again.
