Cara and Ty are so sweet! I've come here a few times and these ladies are for sure top notch Ty did a great job on my hair... A few days before I went in I let a friend do a box dye (worst decision EVER), and of course it was uneven, blotchy, and inconsistent. I was super unhappy. Came in with great intentions. Front desk was nice and helped us check in. Amy was our stylist, not a warm greeting and mispronounced my sons name. When we came back to her chair she had two chairs at her station one was directly in front of pillar, it had her bag in it, but I noticed all the other stylist had their bags in the provided cubby, I asked if I could sit down and she told me no there wasn't a place for me to sit down. When starting to tell her what we wanted to get done it was very apparent she did not want to do the service requested. Right then the attitude began. My son wanted a perm and a fade up on his hair. When saying we wanted a tight perm she rolled her eyes, I dismissed it. The instructor Dorthy came over and told her how to do the perm and showed her multiple rows for instruction. Instructor was very nice. When I was speaking to her about the perm Amy snapped at me "you're at a school" to which I told her I know we are at a school and your comment is unnecessary. After about an hour of basically no progression the instructor came back over and told Amy verbatim "you're not following instructions, which tells me you don't want to do this." I told the instructor Amy has been extremely rude to us since we got here. Amy then snapped at me again "I'm not being rude" to which I told her "yes ma'am you are" and that I wanted someone else to take care of us. I understand this is a LEARNING SCHOOL but Amy clearly missed the day of school where you are taught how to talk to and treat clients. Amy ended up leaving and rudely removing her school stuff to a different station. I'm appalled by Amy's behavior. As someone who was looking forward to attending this school this is super discouraging and makes you wonder what is being taught here. Everyone else except AMY has been extremely nice and professional. We appreciate the instructor Dorthy Rose for her kindness and we seriously hope someone has a discussion with AMY about her behavior and how you treat clients. I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this location because my hair was RUINED! Aside from their crappy customer service the instructors are not involved or engaged with what the students are doing. I was here for 3 hours and not once did an instructor ask my stylist if he needed help or even ask questions about what was being done to my hair. The only time there was any engagement with the staff was when I was asked to pay. I was asked to pay before I was even finished. The atmosphere was extremely unprofessional. I had a wonderful experience at The Ogle School of Hair, Skin & Nail in Arlington. The building is so amazing and clean. All the students are so professionally dressed. I was immediately greeted by the people at the front desk. Mrs. Pena, was one of the instructors that was very attentive to every clients needs. I also observed the attention to detail she demonstrated with her students questions and her suggestions as the students were practicing on their mannequins. My student hairstylist name was Jada and she was very conscientious as she was doing my hair. She did an excellent job after she finished my hair. She is slightly new, but she did an awesome job on my hair. I definitely assure she will do her absolute best to style your hair exactly the way you desire. I met other student stylists like Imani, who was very sweet and has a great personality. Imani did assist Jada with my hair because I requested a lot of pin curls and my hair is extremely long. Great place to bring your mom, dad, siblings, or kids to get a superb experience. I booked another appointment because I love my hair and the environment is so pleasant. read more

I had my first bad experience here because of an employee who was left in charge Mirtha Trujillo, who was extremely unprofessional. I had appointment I scheduled a week before, when showed up to appointment after taking off work, & driving 1 & 1/2 hour's , she had cancelled my appointment & other customers without giving anyone any notice. When I asked to speak to her several times, employees going back & forth to her office, & her telling them tell me to come back tomorrow, & refusing to communicate with me, & shutting the office door. This is extremely unprofessional, & rude as her being left in charge & not communicating with the customers after canceling clients appointments that very afternoon they were to show up with no notice. I've been going here for a few years now and had gotten excellent service, but not as of recently. I went in before Christmas to have some root touch ups on my high lights. The girl dyed all my roots. Went a little crazy with the bleach, and colored hair that didn't have highlights in the first place. I looked like a zebra. Then they said to come in a week later for color correction, I ended up going home in tears because the girl ended up dying my whole head this awful brownish blackish color when my natural hair color is ash blonde... Then they ask me to come in a week later again for another color correction. No way. Needless to say I will never use ogle hair school again. My hair is ruined. I understand this is a school but sheesh if the teachers were actually any where to be found and to somewhat supervise the student my experience would of been better. Beware. read more

I have gone to Ogle for 3 different haircuts now, all different lengths and styles. I'm the type of person that I cut my hair short, then grow it out to donate it to Locks of Love, then grow it out a couple of years later, repeat, etc. My hair grows fast and I don't use a lot of heat styling tools, so it makes for pretty good donations. Also it is a rare color. Anyway, I have gone to Ogle both for the hair "tests" where I've gotten free haircuts, and I've also paid for haircuts. I've always had good experiences. This most recent time I was cutting my hair to donate and I also decided to try something new and got my eyebrows tinted. My eyebrows turned out really good, I don't have to pencil them in anymore which is awesome. I can just wake up and go, no makeup necessary. They even put a note in my profile so next time they will already know what colors to mix and use on them. I also have to note (I know I've mentioned before in other reviews) that I'm a redhead. They did a fantastic job matching my hair color to do my eyebrows. Red is hard to match! The haircut turned out pretty good, I got a type of bob from a picture I had seen on Pinterest. Maybe not exactly what I was picturing when I walked in, but I am so so satisfied with how it turned out! It really is cute and has volume now, which was a problem I was previously having. After I thought the cut was finished, I sat while doing the eyebrows and while my hair naturally dried (I don't like using blow dryers) I noticed it was looking a little different than I wanted. Shaped a little weird. So Tiffany called over the instructor, Andrea, and they made a few minor adjustments and that was when I had the "Yes! That's what I want!" moment. I absolutely love my hair now. Tiffany was pretty nervous, but she did a good job. She didn't hesitate to ask questions either, which is really why I prefer going to students. I prefer going to a place where the stylist can ask questions or get advice if needed. I have been to too many salons where the stylist thought they knew everything so they cut my hair wrong and had no one to watch their back and help out to make the customer happy. So it's like I told Tiffany when she apologized for going to ask the instructor, I really honestly prefer that the person can ask someone for help. That makes me feel like I'm in better hands, really. Usually an instructor is more readily available, I feel like this time it took more time for the instructor to come over to help. This was the first time I've had that problem, I think they were just busier than usual. No biggie. I'm also thinking of going back soon for a manicure, but can't find any reviews on here for that. I may be the first one to review their manicure services! We shall see how it goes. read more

I got a great haircut yesterday. Maybe that's cause my expectation was so low that they surpassed all expectation. But you can't argue with a great haircut for $4.50. Ok... On to the review. The Ogle School is run by students. There are a few instructors but it's really a students show. If you walk in thinking that it's going to be a professional setting then you will be disappointed. But other than the nervous students, you can expect salon standards. Ok... you will have to excuse new hairstylists jokes about messing up your hair and the polka dot haircut but keep your calm. They are only jokes. They do a good job. Jill was funny engaging and her off the cuff humor was spot on. It made time flow by much faster. Yes... Did I mention that a plain hair cut takes an hour give or take? The haircut was just right. Which means that there is no waiting a week for the hair to grow in. So I will have to go back in 3 weeks or so. Definitely looking forward to it! read more

Just received a microdermabrasion from Faith, and it was the best experience I have ever had. She was friendly and explained everything as she was performing the service. This was my first experience going in and I was truly nervous, but she quickly put me at ease. Not only did she ask me questions about my concerns, but she offered solutions on how to solve these issues. I will be returning to receive other services from Faith in the future and I'm very impressed with the instructors at Ogle. I must begin by stating, whatever it is that Mrs. Lisa Wiley-Sanders is doing to guide and teach the students of Ogle should be the blueprint for all schools. There has not been a single time I've gone to this school for service that the customer service was not on point and the students were not very knowledgeable and very kind. And what they may not have known, they were guided/instructed by the educators and even fellow students. My daughters and I went in to get back-to-school ready and they did not disappoint! I had to take the time to acknowledge our stylists. They went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined they would to get our daughters' hair back into shape after a long summer of swimming. I have been frequenting Ogle in Arlington Texas for over 15 years and I have had nothing but a wonderful experience thats with the students and the staff until recently. I have nothing but a terrible experience with Ms. Patricia Johnson one of the school coordinators. When Customers sit down in the students chair will do a small consultation with you and then the instructor will write the price down and the customer will then sign off on it. My one of two experiences involving Ms. Patricia was her written down the price and i signed off on it and then she changed the price while I was getting my hair washed. I spoke with her regarding this situation she agreed to change the price back to the initial price. After I left like usual I booked my appointment for three weeks out. This past Friday I arrived to my Appointment I was told I was no longer welcome to school because I didn't want to pay their fees and that I was irate and several other false allegations. Once I asked for corp office number then they wanted to service me. Like always the student was wonderful. Now take it i have had this same problem with Ms. Patrica in the past and Ogle call me back after the first incident asking me to come back to the Arlington Location. After 15 yrs I will not return. Unfortunately with the change of staff they are bad for business. Mrs. Wylie has been there for years and she has always been wonderful. But I would not recommend this location. read more

When you decide to get services done at a school you have to go in with the understanding that these students are learning, they are not professionals. I've been to many schools for many different services and the facial I had this week with Shauntavia was by far one of the best I've ever had. Go see her while while she is still a student and you can get microdermabrasion for $40. Once she graduates that girl will be able to charge top dollar. She's that good! I absolutely LOVE all of my experiences at Ogle-Arlington. Keep in mind that these are students in training; they are not professionals yet. Your patience, understanding and continued support will ensure that they graduate and go on to become professionals. I've been suffocated by steam during a facial, and I've had eyebrow wax fall into my hair, but it was not the end of the world. I will continue to give my business to Ogle even after my daughter graduates. The instructors are absolutely fabulous. They've always been very attentive and personable. Don't even bother with this one. I've been getting my hair cut at cosmetic schools for years, and this place was so unprofessional. The woman who cut my hair heat-styled my hair without telling me it would add $10 to the price of my service (which would have been $9 otherwise), and the students were all talking to each other and ignoring their clients. I have NEVER seen behavior like that at Aveda or Paul Mitchell schools. One student was badmouthing the program too. And a teacher only stopped by to sign off on the student - without even talking to me or finding out what I wanted. I'll find a Paul Mitchell nearby next time... read more

I come to this place on and off and I have had some good experiences and some bad.. But I keep coming back for some reason I guess the prices compared to a real salon is the big difference . I had an appt at 2pm today and I showed up at 2:05pm and they gave my stylist I requested a new client I mean I guess I should have called or texted my stylist but I thought they would give it a little time and now I am waiting .. My stylist said that they usually give it to 15 min after the appt time before you lose your spot and someone else is up but I am frustrated at the fact that they asked me who I requested and they knew from the beginning. It's like she wanted to pass me off to someone else. I know it's a learning environment for the students here but this is disappointing . read more

I went to the salon on 11/7 to get some highlights. to make a long story short, the student Shelly did not give me highlights but dyed the complete top part of my hair. Because it is a school and they are gaining experience AND I chose to go there knowing they aren't licensed, I was fine with it. What I wasn't fine with was the fact that I asked for brown highlights with a red undertone and ended up with red hair and no brown In sight. On top of that, I specifically asked her not to dye my edges, which she did anyway. I was there for over 6 hours! when I left, the salon manager was very nice and told me that I could come back any day to get my edges corrected. I went back on 11/14 and Randall the Salon manager came out and was VERY professional and apologetic. I told him that I wasn't happy with my RED hair and orange edges. He spoke with Shelly and told her exactly what to do to fix it. Well while she was RE-DYING my hair, I lost all my hair but 1 inch over my right ear--just gone, BURNT OFF!! The SAD part about all of this is that Shelly NEVER apologized to me 1 time, didn't greet me and got mad at Randall after my hair was completed during the final critique and walked away with a smart remark. Randall refunded me ALL of my money, although I did not want it (because of the lack of professionalism and the fact that my hair is now completely fried!!) Ooh, I forgot to mention that I asked to have my hair flat ironed straight (as the style) and she proceeded to put volumizing spray in my hair and curled it on the ends... when I left the salon, I looked 80 instead of 38. Needless to say, I've had enough of students and I hate it bc the staff seem very nice and professional. read more
