Don't even bother with this one. I've been getting my hair cut at cosmetic schools for years, and this place was so unprofessional. The woman who cut my hair heat-styled my hair without telling me it would add $10 to the price of my service (which would have been $9 otherwise), and the students were all talking to each other and ignoring their clients. I have NEVER seen behavior like that at Aveda or Paul Mitchell schools. One student was badmouthing the program too. And a teacher only stopped by to sign off on the student - without even talking to me or finding out what I wanted. I'll find a Paul Mitchell nearby next time... read more

I come to this place on and off and I have had some good experiences and some bad.. But I keep coming back for some reason I guess the prices compared to a real salon is the big difference . I had an appt at 2pm today and I showed up at 2:05pm and they gave my stylist I requested a new client I mean I guess I should have called or texted my stylist but I thought they would give it a little time and now I am waiting .. My stylist said that they usually give it to 15 min after the appt time before you lose your spot and someone else is up but I am frustrated at the fact that they asked me who I requested and they knew from the beginning. It's like she wanted to pass me off to someone else. I know it's a learning environment for the students here but this is disappointing . read more

I went to the salon on 11/7 to get some highlights. to make a long story short, the student Shelly did not give me highlights but dyed the complete top part of my hair. Because it is a school and they are gaining experience AND I chose to go there knowing they aren't licensed, I was fine with it. What I wasn't fine with was the fact that I asked for brown highlights with a red undertone and ended up with red hair and no brown In sight. On top of that, I specifically asked her not to dye my edges, which she did anyway. I was there for over 6 hours! when I left, the salon manager was very nice and told me that I could come back any day to get my edges corrected. I went back on 11/14 and Randall the Salon manager came out and was VERY professional and apologetic. I told him that I wasn't happy with my RED hair and orange edges. He spoke with Shelly and told her exactly what to do to fix it. Well while she was RE-DYING my hair, I lost all my hair but 1 inch over my right ear--just gone, BURNT OFF!! The SAD part about all of this is that Shelly NEVER apologized to me 1 time, didn't greet me and got mad at Randall after my hair was completed during the final critique and walked away with a smart remark. Randall refunded me ALL of my money, although I did not want it (because of the lack of professionalism and the fact that my hair is now completely fried!!) Ooh, I forgot to mention that I asked to have my hair flat ironed straight (as the style) and she proceeded to put volumizing spray in my hair and curled it on the ends... when I left the salon, I looked 80 instead of 38. Needless to say, I've had enough of students and I hate it bc the staff seem very nice and professional. read more

I was a student here and the structure and instructors are great. I love Ms. Vicky and Mrs. Tonya! The only frustrating thing is the clients that come in. They really expect a lot for a $6 haircut. Some show up late and complain they have to wait and take it out on the student. Saturdays you won't get a lunch because it's so busy. You learn a lot though and how to deal with all kinda of hair and people. read more

My daughter had an appointment on Jan. 30 to get a Biloage hair coloring, and it was a disaster. If your employees are unable to do this please be honest and don't attempt it. She spent $50 only to have a bleached, burnt hair color. The employee and instructor gave her many,many samples of conditioner so I know they knew it was bad. Maybe for haircuts but nothing else. She has had to spend hundreds of dollars in an attempt to save her hair today read more

When I came in my hair was a mess. We are talking bad color, length, style all wrong. My stylist, Brianna Fields, asked me what I was wanting done. Now myself, never having had much luck with styling, gave her a blank canvas. I came in to get a more professional haircut, and put myself in her capable hands. I walked out with a fantastic haircut. She took my unruly mop and made me look like a human being again. I would recommend her and the Ogle's School to all my friends and will definitely be returning for my next visit to a stylist. My sister just moved down to Dallas a few weeks ago and on my visit last week we decided to go to Ogle for a few services we normally received at a beauty school in Denver. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. Granted, yes, we realize that whoever gives the services is a revolving door, so this is in no way a reflection of the STUDENTS at the school, but more a reflection of the TEACHERS. We both started out with facials and their was little to no consultation over what we are looking for in our skincare concerns. I was given a facial involving some sort of electricity (they had me remove all my piercings as a precaution) and I ended up with a burn on my right wrist where she'd put a clamp of some sort on me for that part of the facial. During the facial I felt nothing- no pressure what so ever on my face and I had the sense the student was afraid to touch me. Afterward we were led to her instructor for the check off and the instructor didn't greet me, didn't look at me, she just kept looking at her papers on her desk and simply stated "Any questions?" I'd not discovered the burn at this point (because it came up during my manicure) so I said no. I wasn't told about any aftercare or what products would be good for me, just a simple "Ok, they're ready for your manicure" and walked back to the front desk. The young woman who gave me my manicure, again, seemed afraid to touch me. She didn't file my nails at all and when I asked about it I as told "We're not supposed to file, they don't let us here for health safety." My sister had asked for a spa pedicure and they didn't even put her feet in ANY water, let alone one of those massaging thrones that we've come to know as the Spa Pedicure in Denver. They didn't file her callouses at all and she had to sit at such an awkward angle she'd told me she was uncomfortable the entire time. As for my manicure, I'm a nail biter so my short nails were a challenge but the girl kept dotting the polish on, not stroking at all. My brother in law remarked that my niece could have done a better job when she was 5. My sister was further concerned when they didn't have any quick-dry spray for her toe nail polish and asked "What salon doesn't offer quick-dry?" All in all, my sister is going to continue to look for someplace she can go for her facials and pedicures and I hope to never go back to the school when I visit. The teachers should teach more of the "bedside manners" that cosmetology students and professionals need to know. read more

I went to my first visit to this Ogle School a few weeks ago and had the best facial EVER from Marissa Ochoa. (This girl is going places!) Since I had such a great experience, I went back and brought my own mother for her first facial in her entire life. I called a week ahead of time to make both our appointments for the same time, and of course asked for Marissa to do one of the facials. Mom was to get the 75 minute Age Smart Facial and I was to get the 60 minute Signature Skin Treatment. We were definitely excited for this. Then comes the day and time for the actual appointment. I showed up to check in and found they misspelled my name. Uh-oh. Then they tell me that we're not going to get Marissa for one of them because she's already with a client. This should have made me re-consider staying but I went ahead because I was so excited for Mom to get pampered. Finally, we met our students, Whitney for me and Cayenne for Mom. Now the RED FLAG should have been going OFF for me. Whitney exuded confidence and expertise while Cayenne was limp in her greeting and looked to my mother and I like we were going to execute her. I ABSOLUTELY shouldn't have allowed my mother to have her first experience with this, but like a dummy, I stayed. We both got led to the back so Mom could fill out her first-timer paperwork. As we sat there, we saw Marissa walking her client out. I was so excited because I thought we could get Marissa as I originally scheduled for. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Mom and I both got led back, and quite honestly, I was having a pretty good time back there. That is, until I hear my mother being wrapped up and being escorted to the front. Whoa, wait! I paid for her to have the LONGER facial so I could be the one waiting for her, NOT the other way around. Needless to say, it made the rest of the facial spoiled for me, because I wanted it to be finished so my mother wasn't waiting on me. (This wasn't AT ALL the fault of Whitney. She's amazing, and also has got a bright, professional future ahead of her.) When I was finished, Whitney walked me to the front where I saw my mother reading the Dermalogica pamphlet. She said Cayenne just dropped her off, made no product recommendations and barely even thanked my mother. She did offer a limp handshake though. Mom had found the pamphlet on her own on the counter and was self-diagnosing herself on what she should consider buying. Luckily, Whitney, being the go-getter that she is, took initiative and made recommendations to my mother. Mom bought some products and Whitney walked us both to the door. As we were walking to the car, Mom was telling me about her experience with Cayenne. Boy, I was upset, ESPECIALLY when she told me that not even a couple of minutes after my mother was dropped at the waiting area, she said Cayenne appeared to leave for the day in a hurry, with her bag in tow. Ok, now I was pissed. Was my mom ripped off of her facial experience because Cayenne had things to do?? I left Mom at the car and walked back into the Spa Area and asked to speak to the instructor, an older woman whose name I never caught. I vented about the problem and she nodded a lot as I expressed my concerns. She said that she wasn't able to switch out students once they are assigned. That seems reasonable because they all need grades, but it should work both ways. I scheduled an appointment with Marissa and yet, she was magically moved out of my slot. Doesn't make sense. (It also doesn't make sense that no one caught that Cayenne was finished with her 75 minute facial in 45 minutes. If this was her first go on a client like her body language indicated, wouldn't an instructor or a senior student have caught that?) Anyways, I'm obviously still irritated about Cayenne. If she walks out to greet you, cancel your appointment on the spot! Re-book your appointment with Marissa or Whitney. You won't regret either one of those wonderful young women. Cayenne may want to reconsider her chosen career field, especially if she has other places she needs to be, rather than taking the time to learn her profession at school. read more

I didn't even want to rate this place a full 1 star. HORRIBLE. I went here because I am from another state so I wanted to get with a new school for my services. This place is beyond awful. I had THE WORST pedicure I've ever had. I have never heard of a spa pedicure without soaking your feet, and polish---uh, no speed dry on toes or place for drying? Are you kidding me??? I had a facial done also and waxing. The waxing was really the only thing they got right. Everything was lackluster and unimpressive making me feel mad that I drove 25 minutes to try the place out. I saw no instructors checking the work of the students until they had to sign off at the end. I don't know what these people are learning here, but the services here I received made me fear them working in the real world when they graduate. If you hear your stylist is from Ogle, be afraid, be very afraid! read more

Went in today for a facial and specialty style. I had plans for Valentine's Day and wanted to look nice. When I called to schedule, the front desk told me the facial would be 30 minutes. Knowing it would take some time to fill out paper work and consult with the esthetician, I scheduled my facial for 2 and my hair for 3. I finished my massage at 3:40, to be told that they stopped taking clients at 3. Mind you I was told it would take 30 minutes. I left the salon at 4 without my hair done and had to cancel my Valentine's Day plans. This was a very disappointing experience! read more

I have enjoyed meeting so really great people while at school here. The instructors in the esthetics program are fabulous. I hope to be able to hold on to the relationships that i have made here. As for the curriculum, i wish i would of done more investigation into other options. Make sure you gather as much information about all the options before you make a decision regarding your future and career. read more

I've gotten my natural hair washed, blow dryed and flat ironed twice at this location. I love the way my hair comes out. I've only had Amber do my hair, and she is great! I had a bad first visit experience that was corrected (mostly) with the second visit. I asked for a service and explained in layman's terms what I wanted. I don't speak 'salon'. I don't know color levels or terminology.... as, I assume, most people don't. It was done wrong and when I pointed it out, she either didn't know how to fix it or care to fix it. The instructor had to come over to explain how to fix it. The 'fix' lightened my hair to a lovely shade of orange. I dealt with it for a day and went back to correct it. Every person I encountered expressed sympathy for my orange hair. An all over color was chosen to cover the orange and blend the rest of the hair. She did a great job! She checked with the instructor every step of the way and they made sure I was satisfied as I could be before I left. It still isn't what I originally requested but it is better than it was. The second visit restored my faith in the Ogle name. read more

Two days ago I went back to Ogle School for maybe the 3rd or 4th time. I go there because in the past they have talked to me in length about my hair and what I want done. I have always gotten what I asked for 95% of the time. However, this last visit, I got more than what I asked for - my hairline was all dyed black, which, the student tried to clean off. My nape, however, I could not see, I have long hair. When I got home, I asked my husband to check my nape and he said it was black too! Also, everytime the student would flip my hair over to dye the next layer, the ends would end up in my eyes and I had to brush it away, so my finger tips were dyed black too! In the end, I had to shampoo that very day I got my hair dyed and styled. Too bad, I was always happy leaving Ogle but yesterday, the student and teacher did not seem to care about the small stuff. The student was all about working within the time limit and was in such a hurry not noticing that she was flipping dyed hair into my eyes. The teacher didn't even bother to check and touch my hair. In the past, the teacher would comb out and check if the haircut was even and properly done. I will make sure that I do not get a Phase 2 student again. I will be sure to book my former students who are in Phase 3 and Phase 4. On another note, after having paid, I remembered I wanted to have my eyebrows waxed. I got Dyjai (Spelling?, pronounced has Da-zhay) and she was great both her chairside manner and skill at Phase 2! Becuase of students like her, I will still return to Ogle. read more
