Our son has attended Joyous Montessori for the past two years, and we truly could not be happier with our experience. From the very beginning, we felt that the administration, teachers, and staff genuinely cared about our son, his development, and our family as a whole. One of the things we appreciate most is how much thought and care goes into the program and daily activities. Our son has been exposed to so many wonderful experiences, from music and dance to gardening and hands-on learning, while also building strong fundamentals like letters, numbers, colors, and independence. The communication and partnership from the school have been exceptional. As parents, this was one of the most important things we were looking for after having a very poor experience with another Montessori school in Keller. At Joyous, communication is proactive, supportive, and thoughtful. We truly feel like they are partners in helping our son learn and grow. Another thing that stands out is the teacher tenure. It's clear that the teachers are happy, supported, and love what they do, and that creates such a positive environment for the children. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Joyous Montessori and cannot recommend them enough. We have had such a wonderful experience with Joyous Montessori. We have been attending the school for 4 years. The teachers are very loving and the director really cares for the students. My mom has sent me here since I was 5, I genuinely loved it she has also sent my little sister here since she was a little over 1. She is now in the 1st grade, and because of this school, she is in an advanced math program, also known as hybrid math. Joyous has made it to where my sister has a lot of friends and she has thrived in this environment. The teacher and other staff members are very engaging to the children and understand and very cautious of them. This environment is very clean and safe for your children. My daughter is thriving after being at this school for a little over a year now, she is trying 3 and can count to 30 and knows all the abcs colors shapes animals! The teachers do so good with her especially mrs megan and Mrs happy! She loves both of them the most and it makes me happy since she can't stay home with my since I have to work full time. We had just moved to Keller in 2021and all of the daycares/preschools were not accepting new enrollment due to COVID. And then I found Joyous Montessori. What a blessing that was. Fast forward 3 years and I marvel at all of the things my daughter has learned there! At 4 she knows all the continents, the planets in the solar system, is beginning to learn math! The staff is great as well! Ms. Latha was her second mom there for a while. Best of all, all of the teachers really love being with the children all day and you can see it! Looing back now I could not have made a better choice in preschool for my daughter than Joyous! I normally don't write reviews as I believe each parent has their own experience with their kids, I'm a strong believer that once a child can talk and communicate better is easier to figure if a school meets your needs or not. I'm a mom of a 1yo infant and my search for daycare and not feeling convinced lead me to find Joyous, I was amazed of how clean and Montessori oriented their school and classrooms are. After being with my baby at home all this time it was time to trust a place for my baby's cares, unfortunately I don't believe the school meet our expectations regarding the care of our baby. Two days in and my daughter started showing signs of distress, throwing bad tantrums (which she wasn't doing before), started throwing slaps (which she wasn't doing before)...still I could excuse it by giving the benefit of the doubt cause I know it could be just signs of the detachment and adaptation part. This kept happening she stopped wanting to play after school and I could see she wasn't a happy baby anymore, also she cried terrible as soon as she saw I was about to drop her off. When we went to take the tour we're promised access to the cameras of her classroom once in a while so we can check on her and all we got were delays and excuses. I don't doubt the morning teacher was doing her best as I think she was doing a good job, my doubt was with the afternoon teacher, which the times me or my husband pick up our baby she didn't seemed very interested and engaged in activities and in the kids. Also the director (Ms Vandana) is not always at the premises and is hard to find her to have an in person conversation, the communication was must of the time over the phone and I believe Ms happy just had a lot going on and couldn't ever respond our questions/doubts. At the end of the day luckily after a month of having my baby there I got back to stay at home full time and decided to take out my baby from there cause I couldn't helped seeing her like this anymore. I wasn't sure of putting this review as also I've seen the responses they give back (very unprofessional and rude) to what could be constructive reviews. But I do believe that us as a parents of an infant that doesn't talk yet, we have to be aware of our babies actions and changes and how they're trying to communicate with us. I have my baby now part times in a different place and she's happy and back to be the way she used to without all the bad attitude and changes she had at joyous. First let me start with the positives as I believe there are some at Joyous Montessori. Our child attended this facility for about 15 months or so. First in the infant care and then transitioned to the toddler classroom. She seemed to enjoy going to school for the most part until closer to the end of her time here. She was right at 2 years old when she left and I understand some of this is just how a child grows. She learned a LOT of stuff here. Colors, shapes, numbers, some letters, and her speech flourished. Definitely saw a positive change in her development. Now let's get to the bad stuff. There are several small gripes, but I won't include those as I think any place is going to be a little bit different here or there and you can't please everyone. What I will say is we always felt in the dark about what exactly what was going on at the facility. Just a general lack of communication. From what they were learning day to day to upcoming events and closures it was basically as little communication as necessary. The biggest issue I have is this place is unsafe for children. The facility itself seems fine, but the staff seems a little too distracted. I will be the first to admit that as with any environment with multiple children present there is the potential for things to happen. I think this is just part of life with kids. However, this place has several deficiencies. For instance on May 16, 2023 my wife gets a call in the middle of the day informing her that our child has hit her head at home and that it definitely didn't happen at school. Also implying that we need to be careful with her to avoid these types of things. This did NOT happen at our home as she was totally fine before leaving for school. Upon picking her up my wife found that she had a massive knot on her forehead. It ended up turning blue and she had a bump under the skin for nearly 2 months. It was a HARD impact. So in this case one of 2 scenarios happened. 1st: it happened at school. The staff knows, and they are trying to cover it up. Or 2nd: it happened at school. The staff genuinely doesn't know. Which means it happened, and she was able to cry it out all while there was no teacher present to witness. Not sure which is worse. Incompetence or dishonesty. But as any parent who wants to trust their child's care provider we chalked it up to just an accident and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. In hindsight that was not the way to go as we found out in July. Imagine the guilt felt by my wife and I after looking back after the next incident. How could we send her back here?! Ok so the second incident: July 6, 2023 my wife again gets a phone call from Joyous Montessori staff. This time near the end of the day, stating that she had a rash and we should take care of it. Wife picks up daughter at normal time and again we were told it was a rash. She was also visibly upset as it appeared she had been crying hard shortly before. Sniffling and the whole boohoo thing after a hard cry. Upon getting her home we find on her back what appeared to be somewhere between 6-10 bite marks. There were also scratch marks that broke the skin on the front of both elbows, one of her shoulders, and a mark that looked like she got hit on her nose and left ear. So at that point I called the director. Mrs. Vandana. Informed her about the situation and that we were going to have a meeting the next day. We brought pics of what happened and she admitted that it appeared she had been attacked. I was also shown a video of the incident that was played back on the computer but recorded on Vandanas phone. No audio and the video picked up when the teacher was holding Lily. So who knows even if this is when it happened. But since this video records over itself there was no way to review. Only showed teacher holding child. Nothing else. Here's the thing. A child with multiple bite marks is going to cry. They not only couldn't tell us what happened, they couldn't even tell us WHEN it happened. So again it looks like they were unattended. In both cases there was no report made as it was stated to be "a rash". Again 1 of 2 scenarios. 1st: Unattended children. 2nd: Lies. This is totally unacceptable and now that refund check for July has been deposited and cleared we will be reporting to the licensing board. If this only helps 1 other child it will be worth it. THIS FACILITY IS UNSAFE FOR YOUr LOVED ONES! Also, as I have seen on another review made for this facility, I would expect Vandana to respond to this review and try to attack the validity of my claims. For this reason, and to convey the severity of the situation I will include a pic of my daughters back. EDIT: I find it curious that a new review was posted 4 days after this one by a reviewer with no other reviews. Seems suspiciously dishonest. Especially since it specifically addresses all the issues I had and all the people involved. But hey, hopefully I'm wrong about this. read more

2 of my daughters have attended this wonderful school. My 11 yr old has attended in the summers and for school breaks she has made so many friends and loves all of the teachers. My 5 year old just started kindergarten in public school, she was already so prepared to start school from everything she learned at Joyous. She tells me she misses the school and teachers. She felt so loved and cared for while going there. This isn't just a school it is a family. You can feel completely comfortable leaving your child in their care because they will be loved and cared for like family. All of the teachers are well trained and attentive. I would give Joyous Montessori of Keller 10 stars if I could. My child has been attending for 2 years now and will be attending next year for Kindergarten. Every single one of the teachers are professional and truly care about the students. There are lesson plans, and then students are encouraged to explore independently different ways of learning. Our daughters have been attending Joyous Montessori since they were toddlers. Mrs. Vandana and the entire staff care so much about their students and go above and beyond to give them personalized attention. Ms. Happy, Ms. Latha, and the rest of the teachers have potty trained both of my girls and my girls truly are thriving academically and developmentally. They love going to this school. Every morning when I drop off my girls to school, I am in awe of how clean and well organized the school is. I have even recommended the school to my neighbors and they love it too! read more

I went to tour this school for my son one time and when I arrived I walked in and the lady had me fill out a paper and left me completely alone in the front. Makes me worried if they left me alone what other people do they leave alone up front? Someone could have easily walked back and went in one of the classrooms. She left me in the front to go warn the people in the classroom I was touring that I was coming in and automatically that makes me think she warned them to get off their phones. I have worked in daycares before and the "bad" ones always would come back and warn us before parents walked in. She did not take any id from me at all. Once that happened I should have walked out but I continued the tour we went into the classroom and it was dirty. She did not show me anything else in the school and then walked me out. Joyous Montessori is a tremendous blessing for my family and my 3 year old daughter as we have just moved to Texas September 2018. The owner, Ms. Vandana, is ever present and very hands on with every aspect of the school. She is accommodating, understanding and keeps an open line of communication. My daughter's teachers: Ms. Engy and Ms. Anne are fantastic! They sincerely care for my child. They helped me with potty training too! I don't even know where to start with how awesome and wholesome this place is. I've had my daughter at Goddard, Primrose and other Montessori, this is by far the best preschool that we have been at. Since my 3 year old started here, in July, I've seen an immediate difference in how well she speaks, counting, tracing numbers, knows her ABCs. The school is clean and always so quiet you wonder if there are any kids there, that's because the teachers are involved in working with the kids and teaching them. There are also numerous activities that the school offers (soccer, monkeynastix, dance) for additional pay of course, but you don't have to travel, the classes are held at the school. I also have my 1 year old there and he wasn't walking when we started, although he was ready to, within a few weeks he is practically running around the house now. His teachers in the infant room truly care, you can tell. I mean not long after we started he is so happy to see his teachers and stretches out his arms for them to pick him from my arms. Mgmt just cares about expansion and making more money. They have too many students for one teacher. We switched to a new school a few months ago and we have been very happy. read more

My kids have been going to Joyous Montessori for almost 2 years now and we love it and the teachers. The owner Vendana is great and and has worked with our children's needs. We were at the Lewisville location and recently moved in July 2016, so we switched the kids to this Keller location. Even though it is a drive for us from Trophy Club, this is not a "sit in front of the TV" daycare and the teachers truly care. I would have never expected my son to be doing a science project at this age, but he was! They learn so much and tell us about the continents and the planets they learned at school. The facility is very new and nice, and has a huge playground for the kids on recess time. The only adjustment for us is that children wear uniforms, but they look so nice and cute. With our busy work schedule, the uniforms make it easy for us. Highly recommended. read more

UPDATE: I am upgrading my review because I want to acknowledge the teachers at Joyous. They make it a great place for the kids (Miss Jayasri, Miss Latha, Miss Gladys). My review was mostly regarding the management of the center and not against the teachers (as you can tell from the responses from other parents and people who worked there, the teachers are the true gems.) I would recommend these teachers to any parent! Also, I talked to Shubha at Joyous and she has informed me that they have taken steps to address concerns that I have had in the past. Joyous Montessori is my kids second school and I absolutely adore this center! They truly care about the children. The Director make an effort to know the names of all parents and family members. The preschool building feels like more like a home setting and there are multiple, flexible settings for the infants and toddlers and the directors adjust depending on the number of kids they're dealing with. Before he was very shy to play with other kids, but now we are really amazed by his change. We must really appreciate and thank Miss Latha for the her dedication . We transitioned our kids to Montessori in May and we have only had an excellent experience, especially with the new owners. My older son was having a hard time in a regular daycare and his progress seemed to come to a halt at some point, but since he's been in Montessori we can see a big change, and most important, he comes home happy everyday and asks to go to daycare! They have been so patient with him, giving him all the love and care and understanding he needed to push him in the right direction again. We also love the setup of the classes, gym and playgrounds. My granddaughter attends a Joyus in Keller and I absolutely love the staff and school. I can tell they love the children and my granddaughter is always well taken care of. We have been with this school for over 5 years now. Through the good and bad times with management when it was Pinnacle Montessori, through the rough transition into Joyous Montessori's hands and now into the great school it has become once again. One thing that never changed completely is wonderful loving teachers. Some teachers have come and gone through the years and at times even returned. Some have stayed the same. Pinnacle management did a number on the school and left it in shambles to be fixed when they sold it. There was a rough period when Joyous took over, but I am pleased to say that every concern I ever had has been resolved and the school is filled with wonderful, loving staff who truly care for the children. The facility is wonderful and the tools and techniques they have for teaching the children are unlike anything I have ever seen anywhere else. My four children have thrived there over the years and I could not ask for a better school for my children. My children go to school excited everyday looking forward to seeing there teachers and friends and even miss going on the weekends. My youngest has been in the nursury since she was 2 months old and I could not ask for more loving teachers or better care. Everyone is wonderful and they make you feel like family. This school is under new ownership and I am very pleased so far. I'm wondering if the recent review was from when the school was under it's recent ownership as this has just changed-my child has been there for about 2 years now. The new staff that is present are very friendly and actually will PLAY with the children as opposed to just standing there and watching, being a passive bump on a log. One day when I walked in to pick up my child, the owner was down on the floor playing with the children!!-she is very personable and I can tell that she likes being there and likes children which is one of the most important things when choosing a school or childcare. My child walks up to them and gives them hugs, she does not want to leave and enjoys being there. Walking in from work and seeing smiles and being greeted is a wonderful feeling as well.
