Our last night in Quebec City, we dined at BŌ Cuisine d'Asie, right next to Le Capitole Hotel…read more We kicked things off with the BEEF TATAKI: beet salad, cilantro, and nam jim sauce. That sauce was the real star--don't shy away from the raw beef! It was a must-try for sure, earning a solid 9/10. Next up were the TEMPURA SHRIMPS (3 pcs): krupuk chips, Québec seaweed emulsion, and wakame salad. While these were a bit more batter than shrimp, I think that's the point! The sauce balanced it out nicely. I'd give these a 7/10. The SALMON SASHIMI was one of the best dishes of the night. The sauce added an amazing flavor that really elevated the fresh raw salmon dish. Easily a 9/10 for this one! For dumplings, we got the BEEF GYOZA: wagyu, ginger, cabbage, green onions, and soy sauce. I prefer my gyozas crispier, but the flavors were spot on. A tasty 7/10. For the main dishes, we had the TERIYAKI SCALLOPS: maple-glazed, crispy rice, fried seaweed, spicy cream sauce, and red caviar. These were incredible--so fresh and perfectly balanced. I loved everything about them, and they deserved a 9/10. The highlight of the night was definitely the GENERAL TAO CHICKEN: fried grain-fed chicken breast, marinated with sesame and topped with Tao sauce, pan-fried veggies, and Québec organic camelina seeds. This dish was perfection and an absolute must-order, a well-deserving 10/10! For dessert, we had the MANGO CARAMEL & CHOCOLATE BAO: fried bao with chocolate-caramel ganache and mango kombucha sorbet. If you've never had a dessert bao, now's your chance! It was a warm, chocolaty pillow of love that paired so well with the mango. A delicious 9/10 to wrap up the meal! Overall: 9/10 for the food, 5/10 for affordability (not very budget-friendly but the quality is there), and 9/10 for ambiance. I loved the chic blue velvet vibes here!

I've…read moreacknowledged that there are not many unique and authentic Asian mainstays in Quebec City "YET" but this establishment tries its best to accommodate the flavors. We've tried the dim sum dumplings, kungpao chicken and different fusion dishes. I'll stick to more common dishes for better flavors and tastes. The kitchen tried I've acknowledged that but it's missing something? I don't know where to put a finger on it. It's just missing something. But overall if you're craving some Asian dishes and are near old town Quebec City this is a must.

Although we did not eat at the restaurant. I still give 5 stars to the new restaurant for the helpfulness of the waitresses working there! While there were no customers at the time at the restaurant, two friendly and very helpful young waitresses helped us to catch a taxi back to our hotel on a very busy late afternoon of the city festical day! Thank you, ladies for assisting us after our 3 failed attempts (by phone calls) to catch a taxi!

I'm starting to notice, Pho joints in Quebec are not as good as Pho joints in Ontario. This is the…read more2nd time I went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Quebec. Their price is ridiculous for their 1 size only Pho and Hue. Back home in Ontario, you would be able to get a a XL pho for $15.50. The Pho here was so small, it barely had any noodles. Normally I never drink all the soup but this time I had to drink it all because I was still hungry. They really do it different here with their Pho. They put the bean sprouts directly in the soup for you before they bring it out to you. I don't like my bean sprout fully cook and soggy. Also where the is the lime? Did they squeeze the lime in it for me too? Where are the basils? Meatballs? The taste of the broth is subjective, these guys went with a flavourful herbal taste instead of the strong beef taste. The Bun Bo Hue's broth was ok. Once again it was very small just like the Pho. Missing a lot of key ingredient again. The atmosphear was good. They did their best with the limited amount of space they had. Service was prompt. This place could be a lot better because their broth taste good but way too many ingredients missing.

We were going to drive to Quebec City but got tired and instead found this restaurant on Yelp. You HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE especially there PAD SEE EW!! It's so hard to get noodles the right texture and the flavour is INSANE!! Must must try! I wish this restaurant was in Toronto. Also. The prices are sooooo cheap considered the portions are huge! This is a gem!!

The spring rolls are incredibly fresh and tasty. The soups were unbelievably tasty. The Tonkinese soup is a mini-pho and wonderfully flavorful. My wife ordered the pad see ew and raved about it's flavor; possibly the best she's ever had anywhere. I ordered the Pham Thai with chicken. Amazing, just amazing flavors. Now, the surprise. The amount you get served on a plate could easily feed 2 people; no joke. Now the only compliant. The wait. I honestly think another cook would take this place next level. I thought they focused too much on their to-go orders more than the customers seated and waiting for their food. Flavors = 12 out of 10. Service by wonderful wait staff = 10 out of 10. Time to plate the food for seated customers = 5 out of 10. When we visit Quebec from the U.S. again, we will come back for the incredible food and hopefully the plating time is fixed.

We were craving some comforting ramen on a cold night in Quebec city. There isn't much in terms of…read moreramen in QC so we headed to this spot as it had pretty solid reviews. However being from Vancouver where ramen is plentiful and so damn good, this left us feeling pretty underwhelmed. We waited about 40 minutes to get a table - I guess we went on a really busy evening (which oddly enough was a Sunday) and people ahead of us said "it's worth the wait". Unfortunately for us it wasn't. So where did it go wrong for us you ask? While the staff was really kind, it was a bit slow going - I had to ask for my drink order twice for my sister and I. It finally came with my soup. We had a salad to start called the Wafu salad - a Japanese chefs salad with Wafu dressing. While the dressing was the best part, there wasn't much on the deconstructed salad of corn, bell peppers, crunchy noodle, daikon, and lettuce, the salad was also served on a really awkward dish where the contents falls off the edges as you try to grab a bit of everything. Up next were the ramens - I got the Miso - Shallot, bean sprouts, nori, naruto, pork chashu and 1/2 egg and corn - I also got a 1/2 egg added for $1.50. If you're going to serve ramen for nearly $20 - you need to supply a full egg, that's just silly to only give a halfer. The first thing I noticed about the ramen was it was lacking broth - by the time I started getting into it, the noodles had soaked up a lot of it and I was left with mostly noodles - not great. The broth itself was flavourful so if it just had more of it, it'd be a better ramen. The corn was also odd for me and I didn't love that addition. My sister and moms was worse - my sis got the Vegetarian and my mom got the Yasai Miso. The vegetarian had so much stuff on top that again it takes away from the broth (which was also non-existent). My mothers was the same - the vegetables were just a bunch of cabbage lobbed ontop. Unfortunately I can't recommend this spot for ramen - the mediocre food is not worth it or the lineup to get it. The restaurant also looks much cuter in photos online than it was in-person - it lacks character in the decor.

I had just checked into our hotel nearby, and wanted something relatively quick for dinner. My…read morekids specifically asked for something Japanese, so Tora-Ya Ramen look like a good option. We walked over and it wasn't too busy on a Sunday night. It's not a big space - maybe enough to seat 30 people. It's simply decorated, and some specials were written on blackboards on the wall. We basically both the miso and the shoyu ramen, and they were both good. They were a good size, and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and helpful. Why am I giving 3 out of 5 stars? It was a good meal, but nothing memorable about it. It's very similar to other ramen places I've been to, so in a few weeks, I might not remember much about my visit other than it filled me up, and there's nothing wrong with that. It would be dependable place to get a meal.
