Looking for a quick and casual meal we found this place on Google. The space is very unassuming…read moreand is actually located next to the main restaurant Bati Bassac (closed Sunday and Monday's). You walk through the patio to the space that is the kitchen with a large counter for takeout orders. Because we were planning to eat in (at the patio) we would have table service. Space is very pretty with picnic and patio tables with patio lights hung above. The food is Thai/Cambodian and runs from appetizers to mains to dessert. The patio is licensed so you can order a glass of wine or a beer. Flavours and portions were okay. Dishes can be shareable but are not huge. Patio has heat lamps so you can actually sit well into the late fall. We were told that once the Quebec winter hits the patio is closed and they are only open for takeout but there are a couple of small tables inside to eat in. Service was really good. It was the great casual meal we were looking for.

I do not recommend if you are on a tight schedule as you might find the service long, especially on Friday nights. Also, parking is an issue in that area. So, I recommend considering a good 15-minute walk. My friends and I have been enjoying this restaurant for years and time flies when we are together. We don't mind the service being long since it gives us time to catch up on any updates. As for the food, expect quality over quantity. It is not an all you can eat restaurant. Some sushis are pricey, but are worth the try!!!

The chicken pad Thai (I ordered) wasn't really pad Thai, it was more along the lines of Chinese stir fry with peanuts. All the dishes we ordered had the generic onions and peppers. Wouldn't come here for the entree items again. The sushi was also average. The service was slow, but our waitress was great. The menu was in French and she helped translate all the entrees.

I was passing by and tried this restaurant with a bit of trepidation after reviewing previous…read morereviews. Let me preface my review by saying in general, the province of Quebec is still at an infancy stage when It comes to high quality Asian restaurants. Most restaurants serve what I call "Quebec Stir Fry" which is a similar 10-12 dishes (grilled chicken on rice or noodles, Chicken Cari (curry), Grilled Shrimp, beef and the ubiquitous "General Tao chicken ( or what I call fried chicken in sweet-spicy sauce). If you are a purist then this Quebec stir fry is garbage! For me it's not great but not bad. Fast forward to my meal. I ordered the shrimp nid (noodles) with vegetables. It came with a choice of soup (I chose the Thai soup). Both were quite nice in presentation, quantity and quality. Restaurant was nicely decorated and service was pleasant. Now would I consider this gourmet Asian food? I'd have to say no but it's not bad! It did serve it's purpose and I'd eat it again for the price! I'll let you be the judge!

I'm starting to notice, Pho joints in Quebec are not as good as Pho joints in Ontario. This is the…read more2nd time I went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Quebec. Their price is ridiculous for their 1 size only Pho and Hue. Back home in Ontario, you would be able to get a a XL pho for $15.50. The Pho here was so small, it barely had any noodles. Normally I never drink all the soup but this time I had to drink it all because I was still hungry. They really do it different here with their Pho. They put the bean sprouts directly in the soup for you before they bring it out to you. I don't like my bean sprout fully cook and soggy. Also where the is the lime? Did they squeeze the lime in it for me too? Where are the basils? Meatballs? The taste of the broth is subjective, these guys went with a flavourful herbal taste instead of the strong beef taste. The Bun Bo Hue's broth was ok. Once again it was very small just like the Pho. Missing a lot of key ingredient again. The atmosphear was good. They did their best with the limited amount of space they had. Service was prompt. This place could be a lot better because their broth taste good but way too many ingredients missing.
