The serving spoon wasn't a good choice for Miso Ramen, neither was the provided plastic spoon
    Bill M.

I had the Miso Ramen for take on a cold January evening (-11C) and found it good/okay-ish. Perhaps I'm spoiled as home is the Toronto area where there is lots of Ramen and good Ramen. Or, perhaps it was the 4-minute walk back to my Airbnb in the cold. On the latter, perhaps not as I had an insulated bag and I reheated the broth in the microwave before adding it to the noodles. The place looks intimate and quaint and I would have loved to have dined in. However, I decided to eat back at my Airbnb and ordered via the website portal. It let me set a time for pick up and also let me prepay. My order was ready on time and when I arrived. Despite it being relatively cold the place was more than packed with people waiting on the sidewalk to get in. The staff do seem primarily Francophone (French speaking) as we're outside the prime tourist area. Between my waning High School french and their limited English we got everything worked out. The restaurant itself looked cosy and welcoming but I had made my decision. As mention, I re-hotted the broth in the microwave before adding it to the noodles. Still, the made up ramen still ended up a bit on the cools side. The noodles were good, the nori crisp, and veggies good, yet the whole thing was just okay-ish. Maybe it did need a bit more temperature heat. Also, the provided spoon was a regular take out plastic job. Waaay too small for ramen. This actually made eating more of a job than it should be and took away from the experience. Larger, better take out spoons are available. Perhaps next time we'll eat in and be able to leave a more positive review.

Mia ramen, kids noodle side (request), friend chicken appetizer

We were staying a hotel not far from Tora-Ya, and as suggested in our guidebook, we gave it a try. My wife and I had the miso ramen, while we ordered a side of noodles and egg for the kids to share. Also, the friend chicken starter. I like to say that the staff were very friendly and helpful. I am always appreciative of patience with people who don't speak French, even though I always give it a shot. Anyway, we loved our ramen as did the kids. The chicken was also great. A note about ramen, I love it. It's like some people's view of pizza; it's all good. So, I lump ramen into really good, and pretty good. This was really good. It may not be the best ramen you have had, but if you like ramen, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Pretty cute small ramen restaurant. The service was good and fast. I ordered for Togo and only waited 15-20mins. The portion was pretty decent. Miso and shoyu ramen soups were good and delicious. Will recommend call and make reservations before you go. 10-15 mins Walking distance from Marriott Hotel Pur.

A great place for a ramen! Place is tight, table spacing is within an arm's reach. Parking is by the road or any near garage. Food is great! Quantity and quality is superb. Service is wonderful, i guess our waiter was rafael if im not mistaken. Truly an asset. They accept credit/debit card. Bathroom is a bit unpleasing but would do. If you want a deep talk then probably this is not the place since it gets loud specially when packed. They do have a high chair

Excellent ramen - probably the best in Quebec. Quebec has limited ramen options so it you're going to get your fix I think this is the spot to do it. The service is incredible. The staff is unbelievably friendly, helpful and congenial. We met a chef named Renaud who gave us climbing recommendations and he was wonderful! Also we absolutely loved the kimchi is delicious - I highly recommend you add it to your ramen. Miso ramen was the best, creamy broth, fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked noodles. Sweet, spicy and rich. I am a big fan. Come here to warm up on a cold day. Thank you all! Also a jovial dining hall with plenty of seating and bright red walls giving you the aura of the Japanese origin.

Our last night in Quebec City, we dined at BŌ Cuisine d'Asie, right next to Le Capitole Hotel…read more We kicked things off with the BEEF TATAKI: beet salad, cilantro, and nam jim sauce. That sauce was the real star--don't shy away from the raw beef! It was a must-try for sure, earning a solid 9/10. Next up were the TEMPURA SHRIMPS (3 pcs): krupuk chips, Québec seaweed emulsion, and wakame salad. While these were a bit more batter than shrimp, I think that's the point! The sauce balanced it out nicely. I'd give these a 7/10. The SALMON SASHIMI was one of the best dishes of the night. The sauce added an amazing flavor that really elevated the fresh raw salmon dish. Easily a 9/10 for this one! For dumplings, we got the BEEF GYOZA: wagyu, ginger, cabbage, green onions, and soy sauce. I prefer my gyozas crispier, but the flavors were spot on. A tasty 7/10. For the main dishes, we had the TERIYAKI SCALLOPS: maple-glazed, crispy rice, fried seaweed, spicy cream sauce, and red caviar. These were incredible--so fresh and perfectly balanced. I loved everything about them, and they deserved a 9/10. The highlight of the night was definitely the GENERAL TAO CHICKEN: fried grain-fed chicken breast, marinated with sesame and topped with Tao sauce, pan-fried veggies, and Québec organic camelina seeds. This dish was perfection and an absolute must-order, a well-deserving 10/10! For dessert, we had the MANGO CARAMEL & CHOCOLATE BAO: fried bao with chocolate-caramel ganache and mango kombucha sorbet. If you've never had a dessert bao, now's your chance! It was a warm, chocolaty pillow of love that paired so well with the mango. A delicious 9/10 to wrap up the meal! Overall: 9/10 for the food, 5/10 for affordability (not very budget-friendly but the quality is there), and 9/10 for ambiance. I loved the chic blue velvet vibes here!

We've tried the dim sum dumplings, kungpao chicken and different fusion dishes. I'll stick to more common dishes for better flavors and tastes. The kitchen tried I've acknowledged that but it's missing something? I don't know where to put a finger on it. It's just missing something. But overall if you're craving some Asian dishes and are near old town Quebec City this is a must.

We didn't care since it was rainy and was not in a great rush. After us, a few more customers came in and pretty much everyone was doing the AYCE. The way it works is you write down the item # and followed by quantity. They did emphasize that you will be penalized should you waste any food twice before we actually placed our order. We waited a good 20-30 minutes or so before we were served actual food. The waiter did hand us the Japanese seaweed salad quickly as that didn't need to be cooked. BTW, everything is served as 1pc! So in preparation for the long wait, we were ordering our next order as the wait was long. Waiter was handing food 1 by 1. Midway during our lunch we were informed that the French couple eating at the other table was done and that the "OWNER" preferred the French way of ppl eating AYCE. As they hardly ate anything, left and paid AYCE price. I was like what the ....! To top it off we were asked multiple times if we were full. The whole situation was so absurd and laughable. Was I eating for free? Last time I checked I was a paying customer. If they felt cheated regarding the price versus quantity of eating they should have thought of that as NOT all people walking to through their door will eat like a bird! Food wise it was okay. The udon broths were good, we had seafood and spicy beef. Seafood fried rice was good. In terms of sushi and hand roll, fish to rice ratio was 1 to 3. It was pretty much all rice, I guess this is how they make up their margin. Also, no tuna it was just pretty much salmon. Shrimp tempura was okay. The sushi pizza was swimming in mayo. We ordered 1x Grilled Saury but was informed much later that they don't have it. Drinks are not included in the AYCE. So if you want to be harassed and be constantly reminded of how much you shouldn't be eating, then come here. Or if you need a no frill lunch and dinner at a decent pricing then this is the spot for you.

I came here for an experience at Quebec City Japanese food. My decision was to try the spicy ramen with some sushi as backup. The ramen was fresh and full of fresh vegetables but man. This place needs to learn about ramen broth. Probably one of the worst ramen soups I've had in quite some time. The broth had absolutely no flavour. I'm no ramen expert, I have been to various cities in Japan and sampled a good amount of bowls of ramen but this my friends was orange water with a light spice flavour with noodles and vegetables. As my mother taught and told me not to waste food I ate it. The sushi was the only redeeming quality about the meal. It was chef's choice 10 pieces but it was actually pretty good. A large variety of salmon, cucumber, shrimp and some spicy rolls, it's one of he better sushi rolls I've had in the province of Quebec. Sushi has improved quite a bit in Quebec in the last few years and this is an excellent example. Fresh flavorful, excellent texture and presentation. I'd come again for this. Maybe I ordered the wrong ramen but what I ordered I wouldn't again. Price for the meal is not super expensive as its clientele is mostly students. Also it's in a quasi-food court. A mixed review for me but the sushi was good. Ramen...meh!
