Want to do something a little different while visiting Palm Springs well look no further. This place is awesome. You get to rip around on some 90 cc quads and make some great memories while doing it. My 10 year old son loves this place and we visited every time we head out to the desert The guys that work here are super cool and friendly. They set you up with everything you need to ride,sign your waiver and you're ready to rip, it's$50 bucks for half an hour or maybe a little longer when you pay cash which is a good deal because you do have a good time. Come blow off a little steam, hit the throttle ,and forget about your worries. I recommend coming early in the morning as they open at 8am and it's still not too hot by then, if you come later in the day, it does get pretty warm and you know if you wear a helmet in the heat, your head gonna sweat like a little piggy. We went to Offroad Rentals on a whim while in Palm Springs. We went on a Saturday morning- we didn't call ahead or anything. It costs $50 for 30 minutes of riding. When you come in, you watch a safety video that is easily from the 80s or 90s, lol. After that, you get fitted for a helmet and then go into a waiting area. The group accumulated during the half hour prior is the group you will ride with. I really enjoyed this experience because there are courses for all levels. If you just want to leisurely ride around? No problem. If you want to go up some hills and ride down? You can do that too. They have staff riding around to help people in case they get stuck or have an issue. Planned a quick weekend trip to Palm Springs for our anniversary and this was one of the first things we did in the AM. Super fun! Almost every employee that works here is incredibly rude. Except for the wonderful woman you meet at the front. These people hate their job and it shows. They are constantly barking at you. They also altered the vehicles so they can no longer even make it up the hills. Came with a group of 12, I like how fast the process was. The instructions to use the ATV sounded scarier than what it was so that was a relief. It's straight to the point and honestly can stay in one gear the whole time. It was getting busier while we were there and we kept almost hitting other riders, you have to constantly be looking around but even then sometimes you would miss someone coming fast. this was a wonderful place. Unfortunately their ATM was down, and it was across Santa Barbara. They were having Internet issues, so it was not an establishment place. So it might be best to always bring cash here because of the secluded area. The gentleman that runs the joint, was very attentive, my seven-year-old is very distractible, but he was very patient with him even at the end he had a mixup and didn't break and actually hit my husband. He actually had him get back in the bike showed him again how to break and move so that he wouldn't be scared to try it again. What an amazing family experience!!! If you're coming into Palm Springs with the kids, please stop by and go for a ride! We got there a little before 9:30 and were immediately greeted. He made us feel comfortable and in good hands upon entering. First, you head into a fun little cave and watch a VHS tape from the 1980s regarding the entire ATV experience and safety protocols. I found it nostalgic and informative, hey if it ain't broke don't fix it! After the video you head over to a truck container and put on your goggles, shower cap, and helmet. Everything is cleaned after each run. Next, payment; $50/30 mins if paying in cash, or a small surcharge if you pay by card. Now the fun part! We got on our ATVs and he instructed us on the gears, brakes, helpers for getting up and down the hills, and overall suggestions for a smooth riding experience. Even with instruction, some things don't work out. Like my wife got stuck on a hill, but he didn't judge her, he just helped her down. Everything is no worries here :) If you're thinking smaller kids can't do this, you're wrong! We have a timid 9 year old that simply stayed in 1st gear and had a great time! The riding areas range from beginner to highly experienced. I got to an intermediate level within the time frame even though I was a first time rider. Actually, my entire family were first timers! First off, the line was going just fine, and second off, when I told him that I was "putting away my groups phones", he said "I don't care. You're holding up the line" in a super bratty and aggressive tone. My son and I drove from Los Angeles County to Offroad Rentals for a morning of fun. We had been here once before and had a great time. My strong recommendation is to get here early to avoid the crowds and before it gets too hot. We watched the safety video again. It is a little outdated, but still has good information. We put on a helmet and goggles for my son. I wore my sunglasses. They were much more comfortable. My son is 13 years old and he is able to handle the ATV's with no problem. We drove all over the place and had such a great time. I did not realize last time we were there that there is a back section that is fun to ride on as well. After we finished, we were given a cold water. My son asked if we could do it again. Sure. We jumped right back on the ATV. I thought we would have to wait for everyone else to get started. Nope. Go right out the employee suggested. Didn't have to tell us twice! We had so much fun! The main reason I am writing this review is the helpful of one of the employees. I left my Rams hat that my girlfriend bought me for my birthday at the location. I realized after we were halfway back to LA County. I explained who I was and what happened. My friend asked if they accepted military discounts because her spouse is in service and the person upon entry told her yes they do, but when she was about to pay the guy charging said they do not accept military discounts for spouses. It was misleading communication. My other friend got charged an additional $30 for no reason and they were not sure why that even happened. Arrive as early as possible to get on the course and enjoy the experience all by yourselves that way you can avoid potentially others that may indirectly cause you harm. We arrived at the opening of the day and were the first on the course. It was my first time so I was so excited. Make sure you watch the video 1st and pay close attention then follow the next set of steps. The instructor will reiterate the do's and do nots on the course as soon as he sees that you are having issues he immediately goes out to help you so you have an enjoyable experience. It's $50 per half hour if your paying by cash or $55 by credit card. Make sure you are wearing long pants and close toed shoes in case rocks kick up while riding and secure your personal belongings. Came by on an early Monday around 11AM. You watch a pretty self explanation video and then before taking off on the atvs they give you a quick rundown of how it works (reiterating what the video showed) the men working were super friendly and helpful. It was my wife and I first time trying out something like this so it was nice to have people working who were helpful. I got somewhat stuck out there and one of the workers came to the rescue quick . explained why I was stuck and I was back to ridding and knew how to get myself unstuck should it have happened again.We paid cash for $100 for 2 people 30 minute ride. We visited Southern California - Palm Desert, Yucaipa, and Malibu - for Spring Break 2021, and we spent several days with family while we were there. Before leaving home, had some activities planned, but not every day was full. The night before we left, just as we finished packing, the cousins asked if we wanted to ride four-wheelers. Sure! So we packed an extra bag with pants and boots that we wouldn't mind getting dusty... and then on the first morning we went to Offroads Rentals. Off-road Rentals is popular, and rightly so. We arrived a little before noon and they booked us a reservation for 4:30 and informed us that we may likely get a chance to ride by 2:30. By 2:30 they did call to confirm we could ride, and we did get to ride that day. If you don't want to wait quite so long, try to get there earlier in the day. They have a smooth sign-in process... just add your names to list (pen-on-paper) then wait to be called. When it's your time to ride, enter and watch a short safety video, then get your hair net/simple plastic cap (like a shower cap), to wear between you and the helmet. Then pay and get on your bike. They instruct everyone on how to drive the four wheelers, how to shift gears and break, etc. And then... you're off. They have a relative flat area to ride on, and also a tall hillside... all in sand. It did take a few minutes to get used to shifting, and then we felt like professionals. The bottom section was great for zipping around, and for making tight turns / donuts around the tires they have setup just for this purpose - tight turns. The hillside is so tall... the phone's GPS said 400 feet... that seems a little too tall... it's definitely 250 or so... The view is great... and there are multiple trails all around it... and then you fly on down the hill... You'll likely be a bit more comfortable going downhill if you lean your weight back... at least I did. The ride was for 30 minutes or so and was a blast. Was staying out in Joshua Tree for the weekend and thought this would be a fun adventure and it totally was. All the staff here were super friendly and helpful. The track is pretty cool too. you can definitely keep it slow and chill on the flat areas or head to the top and speed down!! Off-road Rentals has a fun quad track. We paid $45 per adult on this Friday in February. There's appropriate signage of where to go and the staff is super helpful there. Tip: bring your mask as although it's an outdoor activity you'll still need to wear a mask in most of the areas there. We liked that we could use our own motorcycle helmets and didn't have to use theirs (we ride motorcycles regularly and have DOT approved full-faced motorcycle helmets). We were just instructed to sign a waiver and head to the driver briefing. There, staff told us everything we needed to know to have a fun and safe time out there. There was hand sanitizer on site and they gave us all complimentary bottled water after our ride. My only complaint was that the time seemed to fly and I wished we could ride longer. :) Parking was easy too. All in all it was a great experience. read more

I don't know where to start. I stopped by with a couple girlfriends a couple years ago to have some fun and we had a blast! One of the funnest things I've ever done! I was nervous at first going up the sand hills but it was so easy and I felt safe. It was also reassuring that the staff would drive around in case anyone got stuck and needed help. But the real reason I am giving them 5 stars is because John, Joe and Harvey were so good to me. I was trying to take a photo with my iPhone and dropped it when I was making a turn and got stuck. I didn't realize until we were done with our ride time. I told the staff and they allowed me to ride back out with the next team. They were even helping me find it themselves. After a good 30 minutes of looking I decided to stop and thanked them. I went back the next day prepared with the Find my iPhone app and they once again allowed me to search for it. Once again they helped me and even told the team I rode out with that I was looking for my phone in case they saw something. I was about to give up because the ride time was almost over when I see it upside down near where I made the turn the day before. I was so ecstatic and thanked the staff profusely for helping me. Riding an ATV on sand dunes has always been on my bucket list of things to do. Where better than Palm Springs? Arrive early as it is first come, first served. You will have to view the safety video before you can ride. Then head out to the ATVs. As the instructor gives out the dos and don'ts, I interrupt and shout, "Is it always this windy?" Our instructor responds, "This is not windy!!" Shocked with my mouth opened as I eat more sand, I see a whipping gust of sand dust pelleting the instructor. He shouts..."we've had much worse sand storms than this." He later has me show him all the gears that we are supposed to use and motions me to be the first to head out. I feel like Mad Max slash young Skywalker. I whip out my iPhone to take a selfie, my God, I don't look cute in googles and a helmet. I place the phone back in my pocket and off I go. Let the adventure begin. If you're with a group of friends, don't do anything dangerous or else they will pull you out. If you decide to head for the hills, make sure you know how to use your gears. My son was overzealous and got stuck numerous times at the top of the hill. I thought half an hour of riding would be too short but as the hot Palm Springs sun hits you, you will start to feel the heat. Depending on the crowd and if you abide by the rules, they will let you ride an extra 15 minutes. We all had a blast!
