My husband and I put our 5 year old GSD, Lucy, and our 8 year old Lab, Gunter, in the hands of Heather for a 3 week training program with absolute FANTASTIC RESULTS!!!! Gunter was demonstrating aggressive behavior toward small dogs and Lucy was jumping up aggressively when other dogs or loud motorcycles came by. After 3 weeks and daily updates they are so changed. We now have a foundation to work from and they are so much better. At the end of the 3 weeks we met Heather at a local park and she taught my husband and I all the things needed to keep her phenomenal training going! Our dog Zeke just completed the two-week boarding training with Heather, and we're already so happy with the results after taking him back home today. He's a one-year-old Husky mix who's very curious to sniff every smell and excited to play with every dog, cat, bird, or squirrel that he sees, which has made it difficult to take him to any kind of public events or go on our daily walks stress-free. Even worse than stressing out me and my wife, his lack of self control also caused a lot of anxiety for Zeke. We were hoping that the training with OffLeash SoCal would give him a strong foundation that we could build on, and we feel like that's exactly what we got. It's really incredible the amount of progress he's made in just a short time. On our first walk since he got back, he was so good at sticking to my side with heel that I actually felt a little bad that he wasn't getting to explore and sniff around almost at all. Our dog Osa,(a 2 and half year old St Bernard) did the train and board with OffLeash So Cal. Osa's trainer Scott Hansen was excellent. Osa was a rescue who had been surrendered the year before and although she was sweet she had trouble with impulse control, manners and commands. It was often difficult to walk her. Reine trained my 5 year old shelter rescue and pitty mix, Zoe, and the experience was genuinely life changing. I had both of my golden doodles trained in July and wanted to wait several months to write this review after I've had some time with the dogs. Service: 3 week board and train with good citizens certification Commands: off, heel, come to sit, place, under Why: I have 2, 1 year old golden doodle puppies who have extreme behavioral problems. Barking excessively at passing dogs, barking excessively at strangers, pulling at the leash, and other issues. Price: $5575 per dog for two dogs so $11,150 total Review: The marketing that Offleash SoCal does is false. Your dog will still need a leash after the training. Your dog will indeed accomplish the behavioral issues you are seeking to fix however there ONE CONDITION. The behavioral issues can only be fixed if the dog is wearing the simulation E collar "shock collar" and if you are controlling the remote. You cannot walk away from this training thinking you will have a 100% well trained dog because the second that E collar comes off the dog reverts immediately to its behavioral issues. I initially thought that with time and hearing the commands for five months straight ( i walk twice a day) my dogs would not need the E collar as frequently however I was wrong. I've reached out to the training manager Sheena on December 4 but have not heard a response. ECollar: The collar does not consistently make contact with the dog. As the hair grows on your pup the more difficult it is for the collar to make contact. There have been many times were I have marked the exact place the collar works consistently and other days it doesn't work at all. I charge the ecollar every night. Training: Offleash SoCal needs to do a better job training parents. They spent three weeks with the dogs and have a beautiful pup date portal (pictures) but drop them off too you and train you for 1-2 hours. There needs to be workshops to address training issues for parents. I never even received the promised follow up email with all the commands my dogs learned, I had to go off memory Overall: The only reason why they're getting three stars versus one is because my trainer was incredible (He gets 5 stars), and the pup portal is incredible. You also get lifetime retraining. $11,150 for five commands and three weeks of boarding is steep. Boarding for both of my dogs is $100 a day at BarkBark Signal Hill. For for three weeks at $100 a day that equates to $2,100 just in boarding. So essentially you're paying $9,050 for training. Not worth it and the marketing was very deceiving. Be prepared to not ever leave the house without your E-collar, leash, and voice again. It is embarrassing how many times I have to enforce the "HEEL" and "OFF" commands. Would I purchase this again, probably not. Go on TikTok and find a reputable e-collar brand and learn how to use it with your dog. The only reason why I didn't do this is because I had no idea what an E collar was. I spent hours a day working with my dogs FYI: I initially rated this business five stars because the trainer made it a requirement to rate the business either on yelp or Google when they dropped off the dog. This is a situation that calls for more stars. We welcomed our new pup in August and were advised by a friend to begin training by right away which surprised me. I thought formal training began later. We did the best we could, but with two young (busy) kids, and work, it was clear more intense help would be needed. Tanner was phenomenal! We sent our 5 month old Pyrenees/German Shepherd for a 2 week board and train. Given she is still a puppy, we were nervous and not quite sure what to expect. On drop off, Tanner's calm and kind demeanor immediately put us at ease. Following along with her daily pupdates was a wonderful way to see her daily progress and stay connected to the training process. It was clear over the two weeks that Tanner really got to know her and was able to continually tailor the training program to meet her specific needs. For example, she really struggled with picking up everything she found on the ground and putting it in her mouth, a habit Tanner successfully broke her of. At pick up, Tanner was very patient with us and spent a lot of time with us making sure we fully understood the commands and how to use the ecollar. Before her board and train, she could barely walk on the leash and often lagged behind, pulled or threw temper tantrums when she didn't get her way. Today, after pick up, we walked her on a crowded street in Santa Monica and she walked so politely in a heel position ignoring people and dogs walking by and listing to commands when asked. This is a night and day difference! Overall, we walked away from the whole experience wowed by Tanner's professionalism and the progress/bond he formed with our dog. We cannot recommend the program and, Tanner specifically, enough! This was the best thing we could do for our dog to give her a solid training foundation that we will continue to build upon with her. read more

If you are looking for someone to train your dog, Andy is your guy! Not only is he a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer, he also brings so much more to the table. On our pickup day, Andy arrived on time, and gave us an excellent first impression. It's not often, particularly these days, that we get such a good vibe from anyone. Our dog took to him instantly, too, which helped seal the deal. Andy took the time to explain everything that was going to happen in the next two weeks. He didn't mind questions, actually encouraging them to make sure everything was clear. His attention to detail was spot on. We received both written and short YouTube video updates each day detailing the day's agenda and progress. When Andy returned our dog, she was in excellent condition and had clearly bonded well with him. In the end, we went from a 60lb shelter pup, jumper, biter, wild child (B.A.B.) to a calmer, more responsive dog. We would like to say, in an effort to not be misleading, the training journey is not over. Andy has given our dog the best possible foundation, and now it's up to us to pick up where he left off. I can't recommend Offleash enough! Cristian trained my dog in a two week board and train, and did such a great job - she is so well behaved and is really listening to me for the first time. He and the offleash team were very communicative before the board and train, so I knew exactly what to expect. The blog posts everyday while she was gone were super detailed and showed all of the progress she was making everyday. They trained in a bunch of different settings so she is ready to go on all sorts of outings with me now. When I picked her up, Cristian taught me everything I'd need to know to keep Stevie's training going. She is like a new dog! She has learned so much - she easily performs all the commands she learned (heel, sit, down, etc), she heels when we walk and doesn't wander, stays calm when I am working around the house and when greeting people, and seems more confident and independent. Heather was the trainer for our two dogs, Coco and Taco. She was awesome! We saw such great progress with each of their trainings! The dogs both bonded with Heather and learned so much from her in the 2 and 3 week program. We received daily updates from her and got to see pictures and videos of all their activities. They had daily active training, but also received a lot of training and attention outside of the sessions. At the end of the program, Heather came to our house and trained every family member kids included on how to interact and work with both of the pet. She was very patient with each of the children and had one on one sessions for each pet with each child. We know there are still work to do on our own with each of our pets, but it's great to know that we have Heather and the team at Offleash to help us and support us throughout their lives. read more

Our Bull Terrier, Remy, just returned from his two week board and train with Amanda and WOW, what a difference it has made! We were initially on the fence whether or not we should go with Off Leash So Cal, but after months of seeing no results from the training we were giving him at home, we knew we needed help. Remy knew a few commands but wouldn't always follow through and lacked manners out in public. He would pull on his leash and was overly excited when meeting new people and other dogs. In an attempt to not reward his behavior by allowing him to say hello, his over excitement would turn into frustration which made him continuously growl/bark at others. Although Remy is very friendly, this behavior would scare others and we quickly became the neighbors who couldn't control their dog. It was a really difficult decision to send our pup away for two weeks, especially to someone we have never met before, but as soon as we met Amanda, we could feel that she really cares and understands the needs of the dogs she works with. In just two weeks, Amanda was able to teach Remy manners and commands that we never thought would be possible. She provided daily "pupdates" that put us at ease, and it was such a relief to see how much fun Remy was having at her home! We were actually worried he wouldn't want to come back. We don't expect Remy to be perfect in such a short amount of time, but Amanda gave us the tools, knowledge, and the head start we needed to be able to continue his training at home.
