It makes no sense that a computer store would give free diagnostics. It's not a charity. I am a computer person, but some things are beyond my scope. I've spent about $1,200 here so far. You obviously pay markup and labor on the base price of parts, but so far the computer is running good and is a lot cleaner and prettier than if I had done it myself. At first he…read morewouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing at the counter, and when he finally did he had an attitude right off the bat when I asked if he could print an image for me at a 8x10 size. Looked at me like I was stupid for even asking that and said he couldn't because they only have letter size printer paper. I then told him that I have had people here in the past that had no issue sizing down an image for me to print.. (mind you I saved my image already to an 8x10 so it doesn't matter what paper size he uses) he then shrugged and gave me the email to send my image to and once he printed it he brings it over and says "there, an 8x10 picture" like in a "are you happy now" kind of tone... and I'm just sitting there thinking oh okay so you can in fact print an image at that size and just didn't want to help me. And then I asked him where to pay for it and he literally turned his back on me and throws his hand in a "whatever" kind of motion.. I'm just appalled that Office Depot would let someone like that work there... not to mention he turned another customer down when I was at the counter... the fact that if I hadn't stood my ground and told him I've had no problem in the past before with other people he wouldn't have helped me.. is super ridiculous. Turning down customers and business is insane all because you don't like your job and don't want to be there. All I know is I will never return my business here again after that.

UPDATE!!: My gf broke up with me for the (I stopped counting after the 4th) time and I dedicated a…read moreweekend to fixing my laptop with a $5 part since the gentleman quoted me ANOTHER $200 to fix the internal display. Turns out it was the DC input from the charger to the motherboard; although I can see why he would recommend a motherboard swap but I already spent $200 to replace the screen... it still didn't work so I couldn't use it anywhere except my dock at home :( I only put on an extra star because I might not know exactly what I'm talking about but my laptops been working fine since I replaced this part alone, saving money VS coming to this repair shop. Would not recommend coming here unless you can dedicate a full 24 hours away from a screaming, nagging wife to fix things with your own two hands. I basically paid a professional to help me repair my own laptop so unless you're coming here for a desktop or tower PC, Stay far away from this repair.

I had a broken screen on one laptop, which he was able to replace quickly and for significantly less than quoted by other computer repair companies in the area. He did a great job, and not only was he knowledgeable in multiple areas (such as computer repair, cyber security, and web development), but he was also very security conscious (he had me take my hard drive, not only for insurance purposes, but to ensure that my data was protected). He did a great job on the laptop screen replacement and I actually had him look at another computer that had previously "died" according to Geek Squad and which was going to cost me an extraordinary amount of money to fix - according to them, the keyboard and the hard drive needed to be replaced and the data on the dead hard drive was non-recoverable. Jeff worked his magic on it, and while the hard drive was not fully recoverable, he was able to recover a decent portion of it, while replacing the hard drive (including installing a new OS on a previously well-worn system) all while being very cost-conscious. Oh, and, the keyboard didn't need to be replaced at all. So much for those other guys :-P As it stands, I would definitely recommend going to Jeff for any computer repair needs. I will certainly do so in the future. Overall, he is very knowledgeable - and while he may not have focused specifically on computer repair in the past, his depth of knowledge in multiple areas can make the solution all the better.
