The owner Kevin seems like a knowledgeable and trustworthy guy who took personal accountability for my issue. Yes, they obviously charge for labor, but the 1 star review guy is out of line. It makes no sense that a computer store would give free diagnostics. It's not a charity. I am a computer person, but some things are beyond my scope. I've spent about $1,200 here so far. You obviously pay markup and labor on the base price of parts, but so far the computer is running good and is a lot cleaner and prettier than if I had done it myself. Also, it prevents the problem of me accidentally frying my own parts. Still have a repair I need them to do so will definitely return to the store. I've gotten pretty good vibes so far. read more

Previously, I left a good recommendation because they sped up my computer. However, they removed McAfee without consulting me and could never get the defender firewall to work. I left my laptop with them two times, one time for two days, one time for three days, they could not fix it. I brought my laptop McAfee and my computer is fine. As of 09/09/23 the Computer Connection has One of the WORST RETURN POLICIES I have ever see. If you are dissatisfied or if the computer does not work to your expectations you only have THE SAME DAY purchase to return if you pay cash for a full refund. 3 days to return it for full refund if you use a credit card. DO NOT PAY WITH CASH here, only USE A CREDIT CARD if you want your 3 day return refund. I am docking 2 stars because they were not up front about their return policy and the fact that they have you sign your name on the BACK of the sheet of paper when the RETURN POLICY is on the FRONT side of the paper. I was buying a powerful compact case computer and wasn't sure how it was going to work for me. The Computer turned out to be really loud, run hot and crashed several times when gaming in standard settings. Now I bought the computer thinking I would have at least 14 days to return it if I did not like it, similar to other box store's return policies. To the Computer Connection's credit they were willing to work with me and let me trade up or down or have a IN-STORE credit. Everything worked out in the end but still I was really shocked and surprised about the SAME DAY/3 DAY RETURN refund POLICY. read more

According to my Dad, this shop used to be good. He loved Kevin. Kevin is gone now and they've lost their way for sure. Took my Dad's laptop in for scrubbing and tuning. Barely any performance gains even thought the laptop is only 2 years old. They suggested installing a better hard drive....Ok. But then they proceeded to wipe my Dad's copy of MS Office and lose files in the process. No apology. No attempt to make it right. Just shrugged and wanted payment. What a bunch of knuckle draggers. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Everyone was wonderfully nice and professional with constant updates on what was going on with my computer. Once the problem was found they were quick to give solutions that would not only fix them, but also worked with my budget to get my computer up and running again. I will never buy another computer from a website as I did before, because when I brought my rig to computer connections they told me all the issues the company I bought it from did like install my coolant upside down.... the list goes on and on. I was looking to upgrade my video card. They provided good customer service. The recommended video card worked and was going to purchase a second graphics card from them. However, I did a little price checking and discovered that I paid twice has much for the video card than Best Buy or Online Stores. They just lost a customer for life. read more

Watch these shysters! They will take your $$$ and be even happier to take more from you! I took my laptop in to see why it would not power up. My computer did sustain some water damage and I told them that up front before I gave it to them. 5 days later I had to call them and check on their diagnostic. They determined yes their was some exposure to water around the power supply components and they said it would not be financially feasible to fix. I pick up my broken computer and talked with them about what they saw. I was told that my hard drive is recoverable, but they did not have a jig on their test bench to apply power to the motherboard after doing something as simple as replacing a small .35¢ capacitor on the power supply. The only work they did was take screws off the back plate and look at the components and say "yup, it's broke". I'm not mad at that part. What made me mad was their diagnostic charge for their "services rendered". They did not give me any notification of a charge when I brought it in and I would have gladly paid them if they attempted to fix it. If I could get paid $$ for just removing screws everyday I would be richer than Bill Gates! They then said "oh we will be happy to take more of your money to repair it." DISAPPOINTED in this place and very hacked off about the $$$ they took out of my wallet. Go find another computer shop that will actually be concerned about your product and keep you informed about costs and repair status! read more
