This place was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. I was in the area because I ordered some empanadas. The order was large and was going to take about 20 minutes to fulfill so I decided to go for a walk. I came across Off the Rox which was perfect because I was also going to make a stop at the liquor store. When I walked in, they saw me looking around and asked if he could help me. I was looking for a specific beer and he relayed they were out. I kept looking for others I might have tried but ended up asking for something similar to the beer I was looking for. He made a recommendation and I purchased that beer. Later, When I ask chilly drink the beer, it was a good recommendation. This store is adorable! I went back when sentimental fools were hosting an event, otherwise I may not have found myself at on this side of town at a liquor store. I appreciate that they have a tavern licence and I was able to sit outside and enjoy a beverage. I also enjoyed that they host tastings and their owners are personable. I bought a bottle of the rose that was being tasted but they helped me find some other things I was looking for and helped my friend discover her new favorite cider. While we were outside having a drink we ran into some people who said this was their go to and had nothing but good things to say about the owners and the store. I dont see this being my go to store as I dont live close but i will be back to browse the selection more. read more

I first heard of Off the Rox when visiting a friend, we were drinking a beautiful bottle of white that had been supplied to them through the monthly wine club 4pk. The following day, my husband and I ventured to the brick and mortar to acquire a bottle for ourselves and left with 5 other wonderful options (they offer a discount when you purchase 6 bottles). Their beer display case is filled with a vast selection of local craft beers (I could stare for hours). OtR offers other beer as well but kudos to their support of baltimore-based breweries. I found Jolene Jolene (from Peabody Heights brewery) here when I couldn't locate it anywhere else. During non-covid times, they have evening tastings and they also offer a rewards programs, a huge plus when you plan to stock up on wine and beer. Jeryl, the owner, is the man. He is extremely knowledgeable and so warm and welcoming. This little shop is quite a neighborhood hub for the community. It feels good to support local, small business! My only wish would be that they supplied spirits as well. read more

I stumbled upon Off the Rox because it is next to my bank. I had been looking for Gragnano, a sparkling red wine I had and liked at a local restaurant. I had several medium and large liquor store if they could find some and they looked at me cross eyed. But at Off the Rox, he took all the pertinent info from a picture of the bottle and took my number saying he would get back to me. I didn't have much hope but about 5 days later, score!, he found a supplier. I ordered a case. Another time I was looking for a watermelon ale, surprise he had a six waiting on the shelf. I just discovered this really cool beer and wine store. Full disclosure, I was in a hurry so I didn't check out the wine choices but the beer that they had was really interesting with some options I hadn't seen anywhere else in Baltimore. The store isn't a particularly large space but they fit a lot into there. Staff members seemed very friendly and were quick to offer help and prices were fairly typical for the area. read more

This place is a gem! Lot's of great craftbeer styles and even better customer service. I hit them up at least once a week. Always something new available. My husband and I love Off The Rox! We live in the neighborhood, and stopped in on opening day. We were both really impressed with the selection of wine and beer, the range of price points, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the co-owner Jeryl we met (he and his wife started the business this summer). There is beer on tap, some snacks, and there are weekly tastings...we haven't been to a tasting yet, but plan on it. We've stopped in twice since opening, and Jeryl is so welcoming, and always makes great recommendations.
