The vegetarian selections here were some of the best in the area. The wall of whiskey was made to fit any budget. There was a dozen beers on tap. I forget what it was called but the stout was perfect. No imperial stout on tap but it's not typical for this time of year. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lighthouse still is a great place to find some solid craft beers but in doing so, the value is more in the buying of the 4 or 6 packs or the draft station I have found. When it comes to singles that are broken out, the prices seem to be a lot higher on beers than they should be especially versus other store options in the Baltimore area. This is the reason I reduced my rating in the store. Good folks working here and always helpful, but finding singles sometimes $2 to $3 more than other stores is a costly bump. read more

My Yelp friend Lee M told me at a Yelp event that I should hit up Lighthouse Canton the next time I visit Baltimore. Walking in, it's sensory overload. To the right are wines as well as a wine tasting bar. To the left are two aisles of cold beer along with another bar. This bar has 10 beers on tap. Behind me is another bar for whiskey tasting?! I absolutely love this liquor store. I've been going over there years and since they took over the 7-Eleven space they have a wine tasting bar. It's a great place to get your alcohol - they have a great selection of liquors, beers and wines and the best place is you get to also buy what you want to drink at stay at the store. There's lots of high tops and it's dog friendly. They have self service water and coffee. It's a big place and can get loud as it accommodates a large group. I've been to Lighthouse 2x now. The first time I was with a friend and just wandered around. I was impressed by the offerings! The next time, I was in search of a nice bottle of wine for a friend and a few beers for me. A very nice associate helped me with the wine and even put the bottle in the instant chiller. Lighthouse is one of my favorite places to go and feel like I belong there. The staff is super friendly & helpful when you need to be helped, and free to allow you to browse on your own if you don't need help that day. It is also a dog-friendly establishment, which is really nice if you find the need to pick something up after walking your dog (we live right across the street). One of the cool things about this place would be the staff pics as soon as you walk in to the right. Plenty of good suggestions if you have no idea what to grab. As far as selection anything I've ever wanted to try they've had and I always find something cool exploring the coolers. Recently I've been drinking a lot of these: Sam Adams Cold snap Dogfish Head Midas touch Any flying dog beer Goose island 312 The flying dog selection here is pretty big. They also have a seasonal cooler with beers for the current time of year. Currently they have a bunch of summer ales I will be trying. Fantastic customer service and amazing craft beer selection. When we walked into this bar/deli/store, my husband was mesmerized by their beer selection. He is admittedly a craft beer snob. Tip: FIRST thing when you enter the place: stop at the bar to get a pour or half pour of draft beer or glass of wine to sip on while you shop. I have recently fallen I love with whisky and my Taiwanese heritage means Kavalan whiskey automatically gives "street cred"'which this place earns. Lighthouse Liquors popped up and I scrolled through their incredible selection, settling on a Bota Box dry Rose and a 6-pack of Chesapeake White Peach Sangria cider. The prices are fair and reasonable and with a $30 minimum purchase, there was no fee for delivery!! My order came quickly, well within the designated time window, was packaged carefully with my receipt included. The courier was properly masked and incredibly kind while checking my ID. This review is based strictly on the one food item I ordered: the bmore brisket. This sandwich was impossibly tough and chewy to the point that it's almost a choking hazard. The brisket needs AT LEAST another 12 hours of cooking time. The bun was also a little over toasted. The flavor is fine but not worth ordering until some tweaks are made. One guy makes them all, so it bottlenecks quickly. The bread isn't my favorite, but it's made up for by a really creative offering, and a great shopping experience while you wait. The atmosphere is great. Lots of goodies that catch your eye. My review is solely for their deli though. A friend of mine mentioned they came across it and the deli had vegan offerings. This deli is AMAZING! My husband and I tried it one night (he's a meat eater). We have gone 3 times now in 1 week. Each time we have tried something new. Each time we have been amazed. I don't like doing less than "great" reviews but this has been brewing (pun intended) for a bit. I like that this store is nearby, open Sundays, has a spectacular beer selection and most of the staff are friendly...thus at least 3 stars. However, over the past year I have been in on many occasions and tried to use gift cards and they are denied by the POS system. I have then gone home and checked online to be sure the cards are loaded and find that they are. Some of the clerks at the store try several times to put them through with some luck but often not. Other clerks simply say "it's been denied, try another card," not very friendly, I think. Recently, an employee told me if I ordered online with a gift card it would work. NOPE. Tried it four times. Gift cards and cash are my preferred payment options so guess I'll go shop at stores where it isn't a hassle to use those methods. read more

I usually wouldn't give a liquor store a review but Bo Brooks Lighthouse Liquors was excellent. After asking a few folks where I could get some Baltimore Whiskey Distillery stuff or good craft beer, everyone said this place. They were not wrong. They had an impressive collection of spirits as well as local craft beers. They even have taps in store to enjoy some brews while you're there. We didn't purchase any spirits, as BWD doesn't usually come out with stuff until May or June. We did purchase some Charm City Mead as well as some local craft beers with some direction from Brett. So far I've enjoyed the Omar by Diamondback Brewing (because if you come at the King, you best not miss!) The Duckpin double ipa was decent. I still have a few more brews from my haul to drink. However I should've left the Cherry Blossoms on the trees. Eric and Brett were super accommodating in letting us mix beers that were not usually sold separately, letting us carry them out in a box and even throwing in a free beer for us. I would definitely recommend this bottle shop to locals and visitors alike. read more

Fantastic selection of craft beers! They have DC Brau! They have Stillwater! I usually go into DC to buy DC Brau and then bring it back on the Marc train (not weird at all to travel on the train with a big brown paper bag full of beer...). So excited to find DC Brau in Baltimore! They were also pretty helpful in providing beer recommendations - although the person providing the recs was a bit awkward, but endearingly so. It's a bit pricier compared to some other stores (their bargain wines and some of their liquors), so I'd recommend this place only for the things that are harder to find: craft beers that you can only find at this store, in which case there isn't a comparison price point. For the other stuff, like the cheaper wines, I'd say, go to a different liquor store. read more

This place is awesome, period. Lighthouse Liquors is absolutely STOCKED with a ton of awesome beer, to a degree that you rarely see in virtually any major city. If there's a beer you're looking for, there's a huge chance they're gonna have it - it's just freaking awesome. I've never seen such a varied and extensive collection of stouts before. First of all I'm going to preface this with I don't drink . So if you're looking for comments on their extensive booze selection, sorry. They have a lot of beer with awesome artwork on the labels, that's all I know. I will say though that their food cafe is exceptional. The vegan and veg options outnumber the non-veg and the sandwich choices are in the double digits. Not only that but everything non meat is vegan unless you ask otherwise, and trust me, you don't need to. I've gotten three sandwiches here in two days and if it wasn't in Canton, which is a hike from Old Goucher, especially with insane drivers on Boston St if you're biking, I'd be there every day. The first was the Porcupine Racetrack which is the first vegan French dip style roast beef I've ever had and it blew me away. The second was the Batteries not Included which had everything you can imagine on a sub roll. The third was the Lower East Side which was like a Reuben but vegan and better. All their sandwiches are like works of art and you almost don't want to eat them but just savor them. They come with vegan sides like German potato salad and pasta salad and a pickle which is damn good too! and their portions are enough for two meals. I can't recommend this place more.
