So I told him I was looking for a wine that either was 7 yrs old or had a seven on it. Well he showed me a few some ranging from $30 and up. But I was hoping to stay on the low end but wanted something sweet. So he showed me another wine that had 7 in it's name. The location is nice and appears to have every spirit of choice, wine gifts, gift bags, or other beverages. He seem to have a good knowledge of his wines, when I asked about the mini bottle of wine. He asked if I wanted to sign up for the reward program (which I declined, but later regret). After my check-in, there was an option to use a 10% off coupon, which I will save for later.

We stored it in our basement wine rack on it's side. We opened it last night (the cork was wet and intact) and were taken aback by how awful it tasted. At first we thought it was just very dry but the second sip was just so bad, we thought it might be rancid. We noticed sediment in the pour. We called the store today to let them know so they could test it out and check their inventory. We had the full bottle to bring in and show them. They told us it was old and that was why. The bottle was dated 2023, we purchased it in late 2024 and opened it in 2026. They refused to even look at it, let alone give us any credit for it. Will not be going there again. Will purchase our wine from The Wine Merchant where they treat customers with respect and kindness. Too bad, as we are within walking distance of the Wine Loft and they are not a friendle, neighborhood place like they want you to believe.

I came across Off the Rox which was perfect because I was also going to make a stop at the liquor store. When I walked in, they saw me looking around and asked if he could help me. I was looking for a specific beer and he relayed they were out. I kept looking for others I might have tried but ended up asking for something similar to the beer I was looking for. He made a recommendation and I purchased that beer. Later, When I ask chilly drink the beer, it was a good recommendation. This is a nice little spot and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

They also offer a good selection of spirits, aperitif's, and other mixers. They are located upstairs in a slightly hidden but cozy and intimate space. Today (6/4/2025), they are celebrating their birthday with a champagne tasting open to all customers. The tasting consisted of different sparkling variations from different parts of the world. All were excellent choices. In celebration they are also offering a curated "Better Than Cake" birthday box of 6 wines. You can also get a "Rosé Bouquet" box right now featuring 6 bottles of rosé. If the sample pour were similar to what I've experienced in other wine shops, I believe it could've provided a fuller experience to select a wine. A balding caucasian gentleman approached and I attempted to ask, but he quickly cut me off to tell me that he's assisting someone else (who was still browsing). I wouldn't be that upset, but I was the only other person shopping, and his tone was extremely condescending and passive-aggressive. Maybe if I looked like the other customers in there he would have treated me differently...after looking at some other reviews, I would not be surprised. I would suggest having a different face working the front as it seems like other people have had similar experiences. After speaking with him, I will never be back. A young man working appeared to be intoxicated as he was slurring his speech while asking to help me, and the way he interacted with me was unprofessional and made me very uncomfortable as a customer. Regardless of what was going on, customers should be able to shop without feeling uncomfortable or intimidated as he was pushy to sell me on stuff or get me to try something. I felt bad for the other associates at the store as they made eye contact with me with the look of I'm sorry and as I checked out I got the sense the employee at the register was embarrassed and disappointed as I would be too as this person who is obviously a manger and boss of sorts to the other employees.
