Stadium On Wheels strives to be an "experience" beyond an actual food truck. They pair quality stadium food with interactive games and even have an inflatable stadium available. Stadium On Wheels was a new participant at today's Statehouse Market in downtown Indy. The menu includes foot-long stadium hot dogs (3 variations), cheesy clubhouse nachos, buttery pretzels, kettle jacks, hot chocolate, lemonade, a classic churro, Icee Floats, and sides (Chips, Peanuts, and Cracker Jacks). There's no doubt they're aiming for a fun, novelty experience. The website indicates you get a piece of bubble gum with each order (I did not). They can be booked for special events. I ordered a plain hot dog that comes with ketchup, mustard, and/or both. A side would be extra. The hot dog I ordered was perfectly fine, though I'd have a hard time saying it was worth $10 even being a foot-long. The employees were friendly. There's not much else to say here. This was a fine experience and would be a fun novelty truck for special events (especially sports-themed events). Baseball fans would definitely love it and the truck is definitely decked out in a baseball theme. However, I can't help but think you're paying a bit more for the experience. The food is definitely ballpark food and will likely be more enjoyable with more of the truck's extras in place (Nothing inflatable to be found here). Overall, I'll give this one a solid 4-star. It's definitely a unique entry in the Indy market and it should definitely find an audience. While I won't necessarily rush back to it, I wouldn't avoid it as my hot dog was good and the truck itself is fun.

I had planned to visit a pizza truck that was scheduled to be here today, but it appeared to be a cancellation. Box Burger was packed, Union Jack's was busy, and I'll admit that nothing else was striking my fancy. I spied the attractive Garnacha Spot truck and was intrigued. It is beautifully decorated. The line wasn't too bad and I was working on a limited time schedule due to an upcoming meeting. I checked out the menu - tacos, quesadillas, tortas, and a handful of other items. I opted for a chicken quesadilla. I'll be the first to admit I'm no expert when it comes to Mexican. I'd almost guarantee I lean toward Americanized Mexican cuisine. This quesadilla was right at $4.50 plus tax. I should have gotten two, but I typically eat outside and I knew I had to rush. What can I say? I loved this quesadilla. The seasoning mix was perfect, the flavor wonderful, and the serving size was definitely right on for a $4.50 quesadilla. Yes, I could have eaten another one. Easily. The best part for me here? The service was perfect. The woman who took the order was helpful and super friendly. While I'm sure they'd have loved a bigger order, they were marvelously hospitable. The person who handed me the order, presented in a styrofoam container, recognized the difficulty of carrying in a wheelchair and offered me a bag - I didn't take it, but I loved the thoughtfulness. This experience was definitely one of the highlights of Statehouse Market for me this year. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, the prices were fair, and the truck is attractively decorated and fits with the personality of the people and the cuisine. I'll easily return the next time I see The Garnacha Spot and I'm genuinely looking forward to it.

This is a sit-down restaurant located in the Plaza 71 strip center (just south of the Dairy Queen) and is adjacent to Mi Casa (also recommended). I just can't say enough about the Birria de Chivo that is served in a very (and I mean very) large bowl, along with a small plate of onion and cilantro; a small bowl of delicious minced red chiles; plus hot (aluminum foil-wrapped) corn tortillas. My minor issues are (1) they initially provided only 5 tortillas and the size of the Birria bowl requires at least 5 more; and (2) I did not see beer offered, only soft drinks. I'd love to know if they would allow BYOB. So, the Birria-- the best I have had in Indy and I have tried several. I know that Birria is moving to the mainstream, but most is prepared for American tastes. This is authentic and obviously home-cooked with great care. Tender and generous chivo portion in a delicious broth (I thought it needed salt, which I added). Carefully place a portion of the meat on a tortilla (do not overfill or it will come apart), add onion/cilantro, a bit of chile, and then dip the filled tortilla into the broth, and I mean this is an AMAZING bite! Very friendly service at the counter; it would help if you have some Spanish but it's not necessary. I am looking forward to returning so that I can try other offerings and when I do, I'll update the review. Their menu indicates that they will have the Birria and also Menudo every day. This is a gem!

We have had the chicken tacos, chicken quesadillas, carnitas tacos, and the chicken nachos. This place is definitely a must try. Their chicken is delicious. Their carnitas are not fatty. Everything is made when ordered. So 10 to 15 minute wait. Definitely try this place.
