Food is a 3, service 1. My wife reports having had an excellent weekday lunch experience a few months back. We were seated by the bartender and sat and waited for between 7 and 10 minutes before she came back. She started with an apology-saying how they were busy. 1 You are a bar in Wisconsin during football season on a Sunday. Do you schedule or plan to be be dead at this time? 2 You were not busy. The nice part about having vision is I can see the same thing as the person next to me. All but one table was taken and all but one seat at the bar was taken. But no one was standing, nor waiting. If this is busy please see #1. Not knowing if or when we'll see our server again we order appetizers, entrees and drinks at the same time. Subsequently not one but two other servers come over to ask if they could take our order including one who asked if we wanted to order drinks immediately after (less than a minute) we had received full glasses of beers and sodas. After finishing a beer it sat empty for 8 minutes before anyone asked if I wanted something. Meanwhile male server at table next to us is making small talk. Then appetizers and entrees come at the same time after we had to ask if our order was lost. During the meal my wife's drink order was forgotten-we weren't charged for this one but I'd rather pay for a drink and get it promptly than wait for something free. Service recovery is not the same as good service. The food was fine. Wings were good after you dumped Texas Pete hot sauce on them-otherwise small and without much flavor. The side salad to this was good. Sliders are nothing special. Lots of potential and unafraid to try new flavor combinations. The food has promise even if the service does not. I have a hard time seeing myself coming back. read more

My boyfriend and I were highly impressed with Off Broadway. Delicious mussels, wings and steak. We also tried the tiramisu And it was amazing!! The restaurant is cute and very clean. Looking forward to going back!! read more

We came in on an early Sunday evening. Large choice of draft and bottled beer and also some wines. Hub got the veggie risotto and I did a half grilled ham and cheese and a cup of soup. Also frites. All good and super fast! Lovely patio. read more

This food is pretty good beer is always good and the staff is really nice! Parking kinda sucks.

Went in on a Saturday night with kids. Had a local beer and it was good. Great service, and the food was great.

The food is AMAZING!!!! Atmosphere is more geared towards sports pub, lots of tvs showing sports, they don't accept credit cards. Great service, the place is very clean, HUGE menu that changes regularly. I've had the best Reuben sandwich and fries there I've ever had in my life! Decent prices too! read more

A cute, fun, place on the edge of Monona. I ordered a screwdriver and the steak and eggs! The steak was a decent size and it came with a side of fresh salad. Service was fast, and bartender was friendly. read more

A truly unique dining experience. So much not what we expected. The beer selection is phenomenal and constantly changing. The service staff are extremely knowledgeable and will guide you where you want to be. They clearly make it a point to have a little of everything to be able to satisfy almost any taste preferences in the group. The food is amazing as well. Non-traditional spins on standard bar fare. A little off the norm in all the best ways. The frites and sliders are off the hook amazing, and a boom of flavor in your mouth. And if you want a "leave me alone while i cherish this meal" experience, the War Pig is a blow your mind and palate experience. The only two things keeping this from 5 stars is the parking and the service. When the service is "on" it is way on, friendly attentive staff that make sure your dining experience is amazing. But in contrast, when it's "off", it's frustrating-to-the-point-of-walking-out off. Unfortunately this usually happens at the busiest times, but its like a bipolar/timewarp Twilight Zone experience given the servers are usually the same ones that were so awesome the last time. Not sure what is going on with it, but the owners should pay a little more attention to this when the place is busy. The parking is awful. Not sure if the construction crew was drunk when they made the parking lot, but be ready to leave a little part of your vehicle on the concrete as you pull in (it's waaaay too steep). The only safe option is parking on the street or across the street, both have their own hazards. On the street it's on a curve and we have seen parked cars hit more than once. The lot across the street is shady so make sure you "lock 'em up, kids". read more

Best fish fry in Madison hands down and you will not regret the amazing service they provided. You are missing out of you don't try the ambiance and service they provide read more

Rude, rude, rude. Called about making a reservation and was put on "hold". The woman who was working at 6:45 pm on Friday September 8 said "I am going to make her wait 20 minutes." Eventually, the call was disconnected. There is NOTHING that would convince me to spend money at a place like this. read more

The food is amazing, it comes fast and as you wanted it! The waiters are great, they help you understand what everything is. It is very welcoming and fun, even if you just entered. Ambiance is nice and cozy! I truly recommend this business! read more

There are very few good restaurants in Monona, and this is quite a gem. Off Broadway did the smart thing and as soon as it got warm out during the pandemic, they purchased a large tent & created a huge outdoor space to accommodate. We ate brunch here this morning and loved it. The service is great, everything is very clean & safe. My husband had the ham croissant sandwich and is still raving about how good it was, the mustard made the sandwich. I splurged and had the challah french toast with a side of bacon, flavors were on point, very satisfying and not too sweet! The only hiccup is a family of bees lives in the flowers and interrupted our meal a few times. Their fish fry is great too! A must in Monona. read more

Off Broadway has the great feel of a neighborhood bar and has the mandatory, but not always present, quality tap list. Their happy hour is one of our favorites and they have a great heated patio which has been a big win in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. Also the Sunday fried chicken meal is a win for our family. read more

Good food and great atmosphere. Nice rotating selection of beer on tap. Service - inconsistent. Tonight we waited for 20 minutes after being seated before a waiter stopped at our table. read more

Delicious lunch! Great atmosphere, outside seating, friendly service! One of the best mushroom Swiss burgers I've had, and a great salad.

Finally a burger that tastes like a burger and not a frozen patty. My friend had draft house burger and I had the Fraiser melt with the best bread..buttery toasted perfectly. They offer gluten free which my friend took advantage of. Drinks. Perfect Old Fashioned in a big jar. We will come back. We recommend. read more

Stopped on our way back to Mpls. Amazing! Homemade food heaven. Great soup. Stellar service, thanks Jordan! Walk to the lake after dinner. This is a restaurant that is a obviously created out of love/passion and it shows! Can not give a higher recommendation read more

Decent food and drinks, good service and a nice place. Nothing amazing but good meal.

Great quality food at a good price. Their breaded cheese curds starter keeps me coming back!

I had never heard of this restaurant until I starting using my CityTin (if you don't know what that is, look it up, so cool!!). All I can say is I wish I would have known of this place sooner. The restaurant is filled with lots of cozy seating, and the wait staff is so friendly. They have a great selection of beer and cocktail choices. We tried the sliders and a chicken pesto sandwich. Both were wonderful, flavorful, and fresh. The side salads were perfect portions, and we also elected to get an order of fries to share. The fries are seasoned well and crisp, everything a fry-lover desires! I am looking forward to stopping back in for their BBQ on Saturday nights! read more

I love the open concept and coziness of Off Broadway. It's smaller than I expected, but in a good way - sometimes restaurants like this are too big and awkward. We visited for brunch on a snowy Sunday and sat at the bar. Our server/bartender was very nice and attentive. I tried the walleye and eggs and my husband tried the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious - fresh tasting and perfect portions. I'd love to come back for a fish fry. I'm no longer a beer drinker, but their options are plentiful and bartenders knowledgeable about what they have on tap. I think they're developing more of a cocktail menu as well. read more

We just moved back to the Madison area from Chicago. We started trying the restaurants around the Capitol Square, then picked Off Broadway. Great experience, great staff, great food. We were seated right away on a busy Friday night. Overall feel and atmosphere was great. Food exceeded expectations. Staff was very friendly. I have a feeling Off Broadway will become a regular stop. read more

Love this place! In the summer it is a fun stop if you're riding around the lake. The beer selection is great. I've been here numerous times and always had great service from all the staff. I'm a big fan of their old fashions and bourbon selection. And, the food isn't bad either. I like that it's small and cozy too. read more

Off Broadway Drafthouse - Fun place to meet up with friends! - Pubs Near Me - Madison, Wisconsin

Shitty meal, shitty service. Worst service I have ever had. Our waiter COMPLETELY ignored us.

Great service and an even better chicken sandwich. Highly recommend this off the beaten place

Food is good, service is good, wait times can be a little long. Been there several times and it is never a bad choice.

Visiting Madison from IL, and we were all impressed with our meals! Perfect sized kids burger. Popeye appetizer was delicious, and so were the fries!! Keely (sp?) is a very friendly waitress. This place has a great overall atmosphere and we will return whenever in the area again! read more

Staff was really nice but the food was really bad. Chicken wings were extremely salty. The fish fry had bad fishy taste and it came out cold . Mussels were bad quality, very tinny and tasteless. Maybe we came on bad night but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Very nice restaurant with good food and a very good selection of drafts. Parking isn't that great as my car's front cowling was scraping on the way into the parking lot. Fast service although not efficient as there were several things forgotten and steps retraced. read more

Tried this place again with a group of girlfriends. 3 years later ...still a no go for me. We walked in and the staff just stared at us. We all stood around wondering if we should stay. After a few awkward moments of standing there and not being helped we left. read more

This place was hopping! We decided to sit at the bar just to watch all the action. The drinks and food were great! First, my spouse ordered the curds with the blackening seasoning and although I rarely, rarely eat anything with cheese or deep fried, and I intended only to try 1, I ate about 8 of them because they were so delicious. I ordered the baked cod (because the pan seared walleye was already out) and it was a generous and moist portion cooked to perfection with a bonus of delicious mashed yukon potatoes. My spouse got the pork chops with a side of green beans--again beautifully cooked. Micha our bartender made sure we were well taken care of care of. Needles to say, we highly recommend the Off Broadway Drafthouse for drinks, food, and atmosphere. read more

The cheese curds are so yummy! They offer different dipping sauce for cheese curds too. Very satisfied!

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great food! Nice clean bar, great beer & mixed drink selection!

They have good breakfast, but the evening cocktail service is terrible. We ordered five drinks and none of them were made correctly. Don't know why I would ever recommend a place like this. read more

UPDATE: So the restaurant reached out to us for more information which we provided. They just responded that they feel it is best for us to take our business elsewhere. We had no intention of going back but this is further proof that they are OK with rude, untrained and uneducated staff. An inconsistent kitchen and management that feels this is all OK. Word to the wise..... TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. They really don't care. read more
