Service: sweet employees, that greet you warmly. Selection: fantastic selection of European toys, nothing like anywhere else. Value: you get what you pay for. Beautifully crafted toys from all over the world.

Thank you Odin Parker!

We came in for an awesome maileg party and they did such a great job and made it really fun for the kids with balloons and face painting! We had such a blast!

Quite simply the most unethical retail business I have ever had the misfortune to frequent…read more Excessively inflated prices, draconian policies, and staff picked from the most pompous Orange County has to offer. Let's be clear, this is a nice toy shop with a good selection of well curated items, ready to catch the hearts and minds of any unsuspecting child and parent. Once you step inside, you've already lost. We purchased (among other items) one specific Robot for $90, later to find out MSRP was $40. Upon trying to return, we faced the "No Refunds" rhetoric, which is both poorly communicated and atypical the US over. I was told that "we don't get the same price as Amazon or Target" - Okay, I get that (thanks for the economies of scale lesson), but let's follow the logic to sense check the feeble justification for price gouging: 1. Purchase item at MSRP from any regular store of online retailer ($40) 2. Think of a number. Hmmm......I like 125. Great, 125% price inflation it is. Yay! 3. Apply price inflation to item, and strategically label out of sight (or not at all). A simple discussion to this effect with the young man working in the store of course fell on deaf ears. He just kept repeating that he didn't get that price from a distributor, however that simply doesn't make sense. STAY AWAY from this place. There are better independent store in Orange County. This business is just taking advantage of the local affluence, which is nauseating on so many levels, and is honestly just plain wrong.

The sight of a STEM shop for young'uns caught this out-of-town engineer's eye. I walked in and was…read moreintrigued by the abundant display of toys. However, I browsed around and noticed predominantly general toys. About 1 in 5 toys was catered to the development of STEM aptitude. Nevertheless, the ambience was very kid-friendly, with numerous toys sprawled about for guests to play with and pass the time. I expected 4 in 5 toys to be about teaching physics, math, biology, etc. As a mechanical engineer, I left feeling disappointed.

Really awesome place for cards…read more Owners? Workers? Not even sure. But those guys in the store are SUPER nice and knowledgeable. Prices are honest and fair. And they have an instagram account that shows what drops are coming or what they have in stock. You can also sell your own cards to them - they told me to bring my collection in if I wanted some options/opinions. They have single pokemon cards for as low as 10 cents - it really doesn't get better than that.

It's been about a year since I started coming to BoomLoot and they only get better! First Pokemon…read morecard I ever purchased was from here and it was the Pikachu Van Gogh ($750). Keith looked at me like, dude!? You sure you want this to be your first purchase, haha. He also said it should be going up in value and DAMN, he was right! I think it's around $1,500 right now...my point to that was today, 11/11/25, Keith remembered he sold me that card and mentioned it while I was walking out. The guys that work here care about this community and care about the work they do. They're awesome and my son and daughter love coming in here to check out the new items they have. HELPFUL HINT...their storefront is in the BACK. If you go to the "normal front" you'll have to walk around to the backside. There's lots of parking back there and the big roller door is open, you can't miss it. Support local businesses like this...they're few and far between.

5/5 - An Absolute Beauty for Collectors and Fans Alike!…read more Cape and Cowl Collectables is one of those rare places you can walk into and instantly feel at home. Whenever I have a bit of time, I absolutely love just stopping by to hang out -- this place is incredible! From Star Wars, Marvel, and DC, to Godzilla, Transformers, and everything in between, it's a treasure chest of pure nostalgia and excitement. The owner, Sterling, is hands-down one of the most knowledgeable and genuine people you'll ever meet in the collecting world. If you can't find what you're looking for, always ask -- chances are he either has it tucked away somewhere or can source it for a future visit. His knowledge is phenomenal, right down to knowing which accessory goes with which figure and from what toy line it came. The trade-in values are awesome and extremely fair -- and if you go with store credit, you'll always get an even better deal. Plus, Sterling is constantly getting new stock in, from vintage classics to modern releases, so it's always worth popping in regularly just to see what's new! But what really makes this place special is Sterling himself -- supportive, helpful, and above all, friendly. Whether we're chatting about toys, TV shows, or sports, it's always a good time. If you love toys, collecting, or just being around good people who share your passion -- you won't be disappointed. Cape and Cowl Collectables isn't just a store... it's a community and a home for collectors.
