Talk about the customer is always 'WRONG'!
Awful customer service.
I took my son who is nearly 16 to this cinema to see a '15' rated film. My son being 5ft 8 nearly and honestly actually looks 16+.
He stood with me while I bought tickets, then was with me when the guy checked our tickets to get past to the food area, we then were about to pay for snacks when a lad looking no more than 16 himself who was brushing the floors nearby pipes up to me does my son have ID?
I thought he was joking at first, but the jumped up little squirt looked serious. I told him straight that the fact that he clearly looks over 15 and was with me his dad, not a gang of friends assured me that I wouldn't need to bring his flaming passport!
My daughter who is a year older but actually looks a tad younger than my son had got in no questions the day earlier, this brushing up boy clearly must be new and just trying to throw some completely testosterone induced authority around to score brownie points with management. The situation was utterly ridiculous.
A member of management then came over and had the cheek to tell me I was in the wrong for being annoyed by this situation, but in the end said if I returned with ID they'd give a discount on the ticket.... NO THANK YOU... I received a refund for my tickets and told them I will not be returning to that particular cinema, nor will the kids. There is many Cineworld's we can go to instead.
Yes, they are in their rights to ask for ID, but I've seen kids looking 12 going in to 15 films on busy days, and this situation was totally ridiculous seeing as 2 sets of OLDER staff had let my son through no problem.
Poxy Cinema, over priced tickets for where it is, and as always, scandalous prices for food & drinks. read more
