As you would expect from all Cineworlds it is a large screen cinema and entertainment complex that…read morealso incorporates Chicago Rock cafe & Yates wine lodge. One of the most disappointing things about this cinema would you believe is the toilets, it seems to have been a problem for a while now. They always stink and aren't kept that clean, so if you can I'd advise you to hold it in. Cineworld is situated just around the corner from where the old cinema once stood. There are always loads of films to see and with the size of the place you would expect that to be the case. It is a good idea to check their website or give them a call as they tend to have specials on offering cheaper films for children to see. The staff are generally pretty friendly and though the prices have gone up recently they are still reasonable. If your one of the one's who tend to go to the cinemas often id advise you to get a monthly cinema pass as this will save you a lot of money. Parking outside the cinema is free though the spaces tend to get filled up quickly so be aware of that and give yourself enough time before the film starts to get yourself a space. There are quite a few good places to eat, in and around the complex, and a Tesco not far so if your looking to save a few pennies and you do what I tend to do, get your sweets in there first. Cineworld in St Helens is a good cinema and a bit out of a way out of Liverpool town which is a bit of bonus if you like going to cinema at weekend.

Go to Cineworld, a cinema for people who care for film goers…read more I bought some tickets with two voucher codes (which I bought through blue light card discount) but due to a booking error the order didn't process correctly... ..however they did claim the vouchers and when I tried to use them subsequently they said that they had already been used. When I tried to speak to customer services I was on the phone for 2 hours (after being cut off 5 times previously) and in the end I spoke to someone who was as helpful as a chocolate teapot, who could only offer me a complimentary voucher which I could only use when booking physically in the cinema. I am now faced with a situation where I need to drive to the cinema to book the tickets to then drive back on the day of the film. I tried to escalate to a manager but was informed that it wasn't an option. I've lodged a formal complaint..I'm expecting a complimentary cinema ticket as compensation. Absolutely useless cinema company.

The refreshments are HILARIOUSLY expensive (£10.95 for 2 normal sized fizzy drinks and a large popcorn? Bargain!). Luckily they don't mind you taking your own snacks in, or drinks from the nearby Starbucks. The place itself has gone continually downhill, from little things like removing benches and projection effects, to removing television screens, turning off lights, and now not even lighting up the main 'VUE' sign, or the signs above the toilets. For the money they charge, they should be giving us MORE not less! The toilets are almost always a disgrace too, not just in terms of cleanliness, but even structurally! A good thing about them though is that the staff are friendly enough, if not particularly interested in their jobs, and also this particular cinema occasionally screens special events such as live musicals, concerts etc.

The screen rooms are spacious and well airconditioned, toilets are clean and pleasant and the location is very well situated with plenty of car parking spaces and next door to a Pizza Hut should you wish to combine a meal and a film. My main problem with this cinema is the price increases. When it opened, tickets used to be £4.50 per adult - on a Tuesday with a voucher you could pay just £1.50 per person. The reason that people flocked to the Vue was because it was so much cheaper than the nearest Odeon - and it was implied that the vue chain intended to always keep prices at a reasonable level. Fast forward a couple of years and the standard price for an adult ticket is £6.50, with the cheap deal on a Tuesday coming in at £4.50 per person. The Sunday kids' films deal (where an adult can accompany each paying child for free) is great for folk with kids. Thuogh I think they will need to readdress their pricing policy if they wish to retain their customer base - the last time I went there were only 30 people watching the film

Although great I do have a few 'issues' with the place The queue for tickets is the same as the queue for food. If you've reordered tickets from the machine that means you STILL have to Queue with everyone else to get any food or drink Unlike Odeon cinema Vue don't give you seat numbers - so its first come first served when it comes to the good seats

A very large cinema in Manchester city centre, this cinema was previously operated by ODEON, until…read morethey were forced to sell the cinema to rivals, VUE, who now operate the cinema. This location is HUGE - 23 screens, 4,723 seats, and one of the largest IMAX screens in Europe, The cinema is over multiple floors, and the layout can be a little confusing, the staff seem friendly enough and on guard to help. If you require lift access, you will require a staff member to help you with this as they are NOT customer operated. Escalators are available without the help of a staff member. There are lots of screens to pick up and purchase tickets, and there is normally at least one person on the manned desks if you want to use as little technology as possible to get your tickets. There are often cheaper screenings, costing around £4.99 per person, so it is reasonable and affordable, combined with the many offers available from many third-party companies including banks and insurance companies, who offer discounted cinema tickets. Snacks are expensive, but what cinema doesn't charge an arm and a leg for the slightest bite to eat? Not much has changed since the ODEON days, the main difference is the branding around the cinema, some parts could do with a refurb but still a nice, large cinema in a great central city location. 4*
