This was Bury St Edmunds' first and original cinema - which is now probably considered old fashioned by many compared to the new multi screen cinema. It has existed for such a long time as being the only cinema, until the multi screen was built, and therefore offers a comparable limited choice of films on its 2 screens. I believe this cinema serves as a memory of old time theatres for adults to go back to as they can relive their childhood. The cinema is located just off the town centre - there is parking in the street outside, but other than that the nearest car parking would be on Angel Hill (time limited) or one of the other car parks. The cinema is open daily, is competitively priced, and definitely well worth a visit. Hopefully this cinema will not fall to the recession and will stay open for many years to come (although it has struggled in the past due to the multi screen cinema competition). read more
