We were in screen 11 which is the 'luxury' screen with wider seats and leg room which was good and we went on a Tuesday when the tickets are cheaper (see Nandos review too). We only went to Ipswich as the Riverside in Woodbridge (our preferred option) wasn't showing the film we wanted to see - wish we had waited and gone to the Riverside instead.

The seats are comfy and they are regularly scheduled for special screenings to create word of mouth buzz where tickets are allocated by codes and website. The layout is simple with a bar and coffee area up stairs. The Box Office queuing is straight forward and fair. The back of the ticket stubs currently offer a deal for Pizza Express which is an added bonus.

It is a lovely little cinema which struggles to keep going with funding from the council. It is very small but enough for a small town. It offers refreshments before and after the trailer starts - this does get busy to get in the queue early. We spoke with the manager when we were there and he was very friendly and helpful and allowed us to swap our tickets from evening to afternoon showing due to the rain.

You need to have your ticket validated before leaving the cinema and is only if you are lucky enough to get a space in the multi storey parking lot linked to the site. It's the best cinema in the city with fourteen screen showing blockbusters and occasional art house films. They have new technology in the form of digital projection, a new bar which offers hot bar snack food as well as a vip open for those willing to pay a bit more for the relaxed atmosphere of a private bar prior to the movie. Ben and Jerry's ice cream is served in all the usual chocolatey flavours along with waffles cookies and coffee.

It has a big foyer, but does not have any ticket booths you need to pre book tickets or buy them from the popcorn counter. This is generally not a problem but at busy times can lead to big queues. They offer a Juniors club on Saturday mornings were you get to see a kids film that is not a current movie for only a £1 for kids and adults, which is a great bargain and a great way to keep the kids entertained for a morning.

Cineworld has comfy seats with plenty of elbow room. Luckily, as oldies, we get to see films in the afternoon when the screen rooms are almost empty. Also, no noisy children and no scrunching of sweet packets etc etc. When we arrived the temperature was more than adequate but then, as the show started, the heaters came on. Obviously the sales of drinks and ice creams was on a low. Great cinema, great staff.

Drinks, food and sweets are monstrously expensive and should be avoided at all costs. All the latest films are on offer and there are 12 screens ranging from large to fairly intimate !!!
