When we showed up it was their brewing day so it was humid and a bit stinky. All that goes away when you start enjoying their brews. We had their passion fruit coconut beer and their spicy plum sour. Both amazing!!! Great venue, great location and even greater drinks. Staff were amazing and helpful. They have a patio outside and ample seating inside. Great location for a brewery. Nice bright environment. We ended moving to sit at the bar as a large party came in and needed the tables. Not a problem. Then that very same table bought a round for us. Small local pub. Went for the burgers and that's the only food they have besides soft pretzels. It was a double patty with a ton of cheese. Too much for my liking actually, I couldn't even taste the burger itself. Also not a fan of shredded lettuce in anything and in the burger it was just a soggy mess. I'd give the burger itself 6.5 outta 10. Not as good as say Five Guys and they have fries. They also had the outer door opened on November 18th and everyone inside had hats and coats on. I stopped by this place after a bike ride last night. I seen the patio seating and I figured it was perfect. The place was packed outside, so I went in. The inside makes me think of those popular coffee shops. Just the lay out, tiny compact seating. Even the ordering and service was similar. Go up to the counter, rather then a server coming to you. Might of been different outside. The kitchen had just closed when I got there. I asked the lady at the counter what they had on tap and she said its all on the wall. I ended up ordering the Extra White Pale Ale I believe. Not sure why I tipped but I did haha the service left a bit to be desired. To be fair, the beer was good and I imagine the patio would have been great. I wouldn't go back, unless one of my friends really wanted to. read more

Back in town for the holidays so decided to check out a few breweries. First up was Odd Company Brewing. They're located in the Oliver Exchange Building which also houses Brio Bakery and Iconoclaust Koffehaus. We dropped in on a Saturday (around 3:00pm) and it was decently busy. Open and spacious with a touch of industrial chic. You need to go up to the bar to order. I was a bit surprised/disappointed that they don't offer flights but at least they let me sample a couple flavours before deciding There was 12 beers on tap along with a couple other drink options. Impressed that they carry Revel Cider. There's also a small food menu (snacks and mains). - Pretzel & pickle ($4.50) - soft pretzel, dill pickle and Dijon sauce. Small, light appy. - Fever Tree ginger ($3.00) - B couldn't drink alcohol so he opted for this. - Blood orange and carrot sour ($7.50 pint) - rosy pink sour ale conditioned on Sicilian blood oranges and carrot juice. This was light and quaffable. Touch of sour comes at the end. OCB has a good variety of beers and like that they continue to experiment. 3.5 stars. read more

Awesome brew pub!!! This place is brand new, and is sparkling inside... They really have some amazing and interesting beers... I thoroughly enjoyed the nitrogen beers which actually have way smaller bubbles and almost like a creamier frothy head on them. I really recommend coming down here and trying a bit of everything. The rhubarb nitrogen was by far my favorite, but the session ale and also the farmhouse ale was amazing. It's so close to my place and it's a really interesting new building that has some great stuff in it. Also the food was great. Prior to the pandemic, I had only come into Odd Company to pick up growlers, I'd never stayed in. Since COVID-19 hit, they have expanded their space into a sizable outdoor patio which I had the pleasure of spending time on this past weekend. The patio is dog-friendly and has what I thought was plenty of seating until I saw a line starting to form as we were getting ready to leave. Clearly they have quite the following! They've done a great job setting up the space (indoor and outdoor) for social distancing with easy access to sanitizer. Instead of flights, Odd Company serves half pints which is a great option when you're driving and want to try more than one beer. I am a big fan of their Idaho 7 Sour. It is perfectly bubbly and just the right level of tart. It also has a bit of a smokey aftertaste which makes it really unique. I'm hoping they're able to invest in some heat lamps because this would be a great spot for a winter patio! read more

The Oliver exchange building is a wonderful place! I hope we get more of these in Edmonton. You walk ooh and there's a fancy furniture store. A coffee shop a barker and a brewery! It is sparkling clean inside and there's big stainless steel tanks. There were two bartenders when I was there in a Sunday but no wait staff so I think you normally order from the bar. Th staff was very friendly. They have a great selection on taps. I tried a sour cherry brew and their coffee stout. You can get it by the half pint of the pint. We didn't eat dinner but they have a snack menu as well so we ordered some chips. read more

This is a nice brewery with a very small food menu that consists pretty much of burgers, pretzels, and hot dogs, but very good ones. The burger won an award recently for best burger in Edmonton and it was indeed a good burger. Came here to meet some friends for my boyfriend's birthday, as they have both good beer and a nice outdoor patio (with heaters), and didn't mind at all if we brought along our own birthday cake. So we had burgers and beer and birthday cake and chatted with some of the other patrons who had brought various dogs and even one cat also. One nice thing about the beer is that the half pints are literally half the price of the full pint, so you're not getting overcharged if you just want to try a bunch of half pints of different beers to see which you like best. And there's the 102 Ave bicycle path right nearby so easy to get to by bike or scooter, although there's some street parking also. This will be a very nice place to stop at in the warmer summer days, and if you feel like some comfort food in the form of a burger, also hard to go wrong! read more

Odd Company - my new favourite brewery. Located in the trendy/historic Oliver Exchange next to other awesome businesses like Brio Bakery. They're closed M, Tu, W - so check them out towards the end of the week. They serve food, at completely reasonable prices. (Main + a side is $12). It's not always the easiest thing to do in the Oliver/Westmount/Glenora area to find a meal for less than $20, so this a big deal IMO. They have a really cool location, medium sized, but it was packed when I went in on their second day open. We were happy to stand around and enjoy some delicious beer though. They had a sour saison and a white stout that were real standouts. They have a real cool aesthetic and very slick growlers. I left with 2L of that aforementioned white stout and a smile on my face. Kudos to them for bringing beer to an area seriously underserved in that department, but now with Odd Company and Two Seargants going strong, it seems like the worm has turned. We stumbled upon this small batch brewery in the Oliver Exchange building in search of an after workout nibble. The Odd Company was an exciting discovery especially for my beer drinking beau... After all we did just burn all those calories ;P They advertise growlers to go and pints to stay. The room was filling up quickly but luckily, there was a table for two waiting just for us. The taproom has a minimalist and industrial feel yet it's very bright and welcoming. The friendly and well informed barkeep was happy to give us the menu coles notes and make suggestions based on Alex's preferences. I was extremely pleased to see that they also offer a red and white variety from my favorite wine region in the Okanagan. Their snack menu is simple offering few sides and mains. Hooray for the OG cheezies and marinated olives both which seem to pair well with the beer and tide us over until the main act arrived. The pickled Cubano sandwich hit the savory spot for Alex yet my Sweet Potato Tacos were just a touch dry but still that didn't take away from the overall affair. Most importantly they offer up a great variety of creative beers and even one special brew uses locally grown hops from right here in our own river valley. After seeing that OCB won the recent edmonton burger challenge in edify magazine , had to see how they'd do in the joe burger challenge. they fared just fine, tho the top 10 would probably all be so close it would be hard to tell in a blindfold test. one thing's for sure at $10 on a $ for $ basis it would be very hard to top the OCB. Went to Odd Company for the first time on Tuesday October 6th, 2020. I got the Thail Basil Gose and the Sour IPA (half pints) and I was extremely happy. I'm a sucker for sour and tart beers and the sour IPA was the perfect blend of both types and the Thai basil gose was tart and earthy which was absolutely delicious. Also got the New England IPA (not a big IPA fan) but wow this one was just as delicious. Unique concept with their beer and only brewing a certain amount which means rotating in house taps.
