I have read reviews about people who walk out of CSL plasma carted out to an emergency room because of their incompetence. They were not rude but the fact they had an armed guard is an indication of the interactions that go on at this place. NEVER GO HERE. I only wasted my time. I have the utmost respect for everyone in the health care profession, especially angelic (for the most part!) nurses! The American Red Cross usually has the most amazing nurses working for them. Last night, at my donation in Somerdale, NJ, was no exception. A sweet older man, named Frank, not only did my check in, but also my donation. He was friendly, positive, and gave a great stick. We had a nice conversation as well. Frank even told me to help myself to the snacks in the cantina since they would just be sitting there when they left. So I did, and my son was thrilled w/ the Ritz and mini Oreos! Every now and then you'll get some free "swag," which is nice, but I can care less. I've been donating off and on since I was 16. I feel it's my part, helps my community, and my great type of blood mixes with all other types. Yeah, that's me ;) If you've never thought about donating, please look into it.

The doctor is expert she knows everything and she was toxicologist and expert. Ask her to sample the blood to over ride her of expertise because she said I know that you are intoxicated she refused. They laugh at people and disregard your feelings. She denied me a test and was unprofessional. Really didn't care but these phlebotomist judged hard and hurt my feelings. I am super hyper she thought she knew everything she put a light on my eyes and said I was intoxicated, which was not the case. Do not go there. They are more than scum of the Earth. Probably about six out of eight of them that worked there on February 23, 2024. I do understand it's a cash business that they pay out so they might be a little scared. I do it because I study and donate blood at the same time. They will waste your time and they think it's funny. I asked her for the test to prove her wrong. She just sat there because she knew she wanted to feel right for the day and not do her job professionally because she likes to to be prejudice which is the only word here. Do not give care to much and I peaked through the back. I noticed that there was maybe like three people that were back there and they did not want to do the job, but sit back in the back office and talk very uneducated, absolutely did not want to work. I swear there was five of them in the back room peeking out to see if someone was in line, I run a business myself I've never encountered the laziest employees in my life go to American Cross Blood donor in Levittown, PA. I'll go there the wasted time I can t get back for what I can tell you is they are prejudice thinking that people are something they have no because they are not toxicologist or a DUI specialist or anything. I cannot stress enough, but I say lazy. I submitted a request for an appointment at StemExpress online and received a call minutes later. I was able to set up an initial appointment for that day. I wasn't sure what to expect walking in but the decor was very clean and welcoming! The staff was super friendly and offered me snacks. I filled out my paperwork and was taken right back. The initial draw was a normal amount for tests. The whole process was super quick and I was really impressed with the entire experience.

Even if I had to wait a while. But he wasn't available this day. I waited an extra hour and this really short girl said she would do it. But I shouldn't have told her about my needle FEARS because, she made sure EVERY ONE of them came true. First thing she does is put the entire length of the needle in my arm where there was no vein. I asked her what she was doing and she responded with an attitude that she's trying to find the vein but I'm PREVENTING her... So as she begins to move the needle around UNDER my skin I ask her to stop because it hurts. Then she says if she takes the needle out I have to come back another day. Which was a lie somehow she got me permanently deferred.! Somehow I went through all that pain and got absolutely nothing. !! I just wanted to pay my phone bill

Walking in, I was greeted and provided with the absolute best service you could get while sitting still for two to three hours. I mentioned that I had an issue before with my return arm and they decided to flip arms and even use a different vein. It was actually so much more comfortable for me, for this long process. I think this will be my new location going forward.

Big fan of donating bodily fluids to a bank that will use said fluids for lifesaving treatments. In…read moreparticular, I enjoy giving over whole blood and platelets. The platelet donation is less fun, because it takes somewhere between 2-3 hours, and they have to puncture both arms (draw blood from one arm, send the blood into a machine so that the platelets can be separated from the blood, and then send the blood back to you via the other arm). But you know what? Small price to pay to help someone in need. In particular, platelets go to individuals who are fighting serious illness such as cancer, and the platelets can really make a world of difference for them. And it honestly does not hurt that much. Still not convinced to donate? Well they also have Netflix, and you can binge watch whatever you want while you're sitting in the donor's chair for 2+ hours. I just finished off Cobra Kai, myself. Last time, I plowed through 5 episodes of Seinfeld. Last bit of convincing I have for you - they have snacks! You get to sip on some "tropical juice" and eat Oreos or Cheez-Its or those Welch's gummy snacks or Nutter Butters... Not to sound like a dude in a windowless van, but it is a good reason to donate. *opens door and ushers you inside, looks behind you to make sure nobody is following, slowly shuts the door* Not but seriously - if you have never donated or it has been a while, and you're able to donate, please consider doing so.
