Good doctors but they have really bad phone issues. No call backs; long waits for someone to answer the phones; billing issues

My review is focused on one doctor, Dr Eric Rosenberg. For over seven years I have been in search…read moreof a Cornea Specialist that has been noted by his peers as one of the unsurpassed in his field. Most of the top cornea doctors I found through my sources were not local. Either overseas or a distance away from NY. I believe in messages that one sometimes misses; the message derived by a source that did not specifically pronounce Dr Rosenberg; s knowledge and experience. After one visit, I was overly committed that I had discovered the right doctor. Dr. Eric Rosenberg has produced in a brief time twenty-five plus journals, article publications, five book chapters, and a full textbook used by many residents and fellows throughout the world titled "Operative Dictations in Ophthalmology," He is always actively researching projects in the field of cornea, refractive, and external diseases. Why we chose this Doctor? He is enthusiastic about his career and his patients. I exceptionally recommend Dr. Eric Rosenberg and propose those in need of an eye specialist who loves his field passionately, and cares for his patience profoundly, connect with him before it is difficult to acquire an appointment. Tell the Doctor. Denise recommended you. As far as the staff, their front desk along with their technicians are knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Sight MD is fortunate to have Dr Rosenberg on their staff.

Finally, got through to a so- called medical coordinator (Marie), who promised a call back, from either herself, or the doctor the very next day.NEVER HEARD BACK FROM EITHER! Questionable calibration of testing equipment, compared to results from other providers. The technicians seem to have poor training. This is simply a money machine, and medical "mill". It is run more like a fast food restaurant, rather than a responsive and caring medical practice. My advice - stay far, far away! ****As you can see from the tone deaf response to my post below, these clowns ask that I continue to "reach out" to them. That's exactly one of the issues! THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO ME! I'm the patient! Probably too busy making bank deposits!

An anecdote about how much I rely on him and how caring he is: on a recent vacation to Colorado, I noticed an admonition on a sign not to ascend Pike's Peak if you have a retina problem, and a quick search online repeated the warning for certain altitudes. I call Dr. Maisel's office and he got on the line. He reassured me that I could ascend, but not to spend the night above a certain altitude - vacation saved!

I did my best to correct that problem but nothing worked and it was painful. When my eye care doctor opened for business I called his office. I told the person who answered the phone that I had something in my eye and I wanted to see the doctor. After speaking to the Doctor she told me he wasn't seeing an more patience today. She asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for Friday. Then I thought about "My Eye Dr." The Doctor who gives me my eye exam is an "Eye Dr." I got on the phone and called their office and Peggy Kessler picked up. Peggy, I have something in my eye can the Doctor see me. When can you come in, I'll be there in 5 minutes...Doctor Skoljarev took me in her office and examined my right eye. The results of her15 minute exam she said I must have scratched my eye with my fingernail during the night. She put an eye drop in my eye and the pain was gone...I used eye drops for 2 days and now I'm better! Thank you Peggy, thank you Dr. Skoljarev

Painful and frightening experience - I do not recommend this place…read more I visited Retina Group of New York in Hicksville on September 12, 2025, for a routine eye check-up. I didn't have any vision problemas - I just wanted to make sure everything was fine. The initial tests showed that my vision was 20/20 with glasses. The I saw Dr. Dang Suveera, who told. me there were some minor changes in the membrane behind my eye, but that it was normal for my age. She said she wanted to look more closely at the membrane behind my eyeball. I told her I was afraid because I though she might touch my eye with the metal instrument, and I said NO. Despite that, she insisted on doing the procedure. She said that if something went wrong, she could "drain the liquid in my eye chamber with a laser". That statement made me very nervous, but she didn't explain what exactly she was going to do. When I felt something touching and pressing on my eye, I panicked and pulled away. She stopped, but afterward I felt pain and discomfort for several days, and I still don't feel that my eye is the same. I regret allowing this to happen - I had no symptoms and didn't need that test. I left feeling violated and afraid. It seemed like she ignored my consent and did something unnecessary just to practice or check something that wasn't urgent. I'm sharing this so other patients know to ask questions, refuse any procedure they're not comfortable with, and be very cautious about what is done to their eyes.

Who would've thought one of my favorite doctors to visit would be a retina specialist?…read more I started coming here a couple of years ago. I first worked with Dr. Maisel and now go to see Dr. Shah due to scheduling issues. They're both wonderful people and incredibly comforting while lasering your retina. The entire staff here is fantastic. Very nice, friendly, courteous, and keep you laughing while they run a million tests on your eyes. It makes the whole experience rather pleasant. The only downside is occasionally the wait can be long. It's a popular practice with lots of patients and even with COVID, it's still taking quite some time to be seen. But once they do get you in the back it's in and out.
