Came here twice on a row. One of the best place for authentic Haxen in Stuttgart!!! There arefour star rating in google as well! Highly recommended for dinner with some local biere!

Knusprige mit spreckkrautsalat und semmelknödel. (Fried pork knuckle with kraut salad and some sort of wet molded bread)

I don't know why, but when coming across this restaurant in the search results for schweinshaxe, I thought this place would be some dive/ college pub. I couldn't be any more wrong This place is clean and classy. Flowers and fresh table cloths at every table. As for the food, my Knusprige mit semmelknödel und spreckkrautsalat was simply amazing. The skin on there was so crunchy that I had to use the knife to pick away at it. To think they kept it attached while keeping the meat moist is mindblowing. When eating it, all I could think was that it was pork gift with a chicharron wrapper. I've been looking for anything close in the New York/ New Jersey area. I don't think it's going to happen. The side dishes were also delicious and perfect complements to the fatty pork. I had not eaten all day, and at close to 7pm, I was still not able to finish my entire meal. The service was great, and they had quite a few beers to choose from for a reasonable price. I would go back here whenever I visit again.

The name and design of the initial logo of the restaurant gives a little cheap chain like impression, with the logo and name the restaurant sounds fun. The interior is decorated very cozy with the wood décor and Christmas feel makes for a very comfortable place to dine. When you enter it seems small but there is more dining area in the back. That is also where the smorgasbord of a salad buffet can be fount. It had over a dozen choices to choose from including many varieties of vegetables, beans, pasta and dressings. You could get full off the salad alone. I had the "Kartoffelsahnesuppe" (creamed potato soup with slices of salmon) as a starter and it was delicious. It was perfectly creamy in texture and had a wonderfully strong yet not too strong flavor. The "Lachsfiletspitzen" was soft and covered with a creamy hollandaise sauce was made well. The accompanied balls of I believe what was Rotsi were lightly crisp, fresh and also good. I said "believe" because they seemed more like bitterballen but without the core taste. So Rotsi it will be. Even the orangensaft was on point because after lots of walking. That certainly quenched my thirst. The fries were thin and crispy, good fries. The food here is 4-5 stars good. The waitress was very nice but a bit slow. We were seated very promptly, got our food pretty fast but trying to get her for anything like napkins or extra fork might take 10-15 minutes. Oh yes, recommended and would visit again.

The giant leg of pork with bread dumpling and white cabbage. Divine.

If you want a traditional German meal. Look no further. Went here at short notice and loved every minute! Had the giant pork leg with bread dumpling and white cabbage. Simply the best I've ever eaten. It was a huge meal but I did my best. Our party of three had a variety of meals and they were all good. The cheese noodles seemed a bit of an acquired taste but I liked them. The staff were good even though didn't speak much English. We never felt out of place our unwelcome. Highly recommended.

It's really good! My mom and I ordered a pork leg and a plate of salad, but couldn't finish the meal because it was too huge! The wine was pretty good and staff were nice. Strongly recommend!!!!!!!

Lest I forget one of my few good memories of Stuttgart, I found the card of Ochs'n Willi. I remember a large bowl of rosti set in front of me and a large hunk of meat (haxn...) before my other family members. I was not much impressed with the cheese covered rosti, but the meat was delicious. Warmth, copious plates of food, the closest I had to a German welcome in a city that amounts to a large, cold, quasi-Stalinist concrete mall.

I absolutely love this place. The food is excellent, the prices are fair and the location is right in the heart of Stuttgart's city center.

Normally when going to a steak house the meat is prepare so one doesn't require steak sauce or some other condiment. Not here the meat was flavorless. Big disappointment. The other thing was the meal was several without a side of veggies. Again, not sure is that is a local thing, but I was surprised. The baked potato was well prepared with sour cream and butter. The service was nice. The food was brought out hot. This was a very average experience for me.

It was light, refreshing, and flavorful. Served with bread almost crustini-like which was a nice touch. Main course was a ribeye with a baked potato and bread side. The ribeye was cooked medium rare as requested. But not with the proper technique. It was cooked on too low of a heat not allowing any sort of crust to form on the outside. Seasoning was mediocre. The baked potato was smothered in a delicious sour cream dressing. The bread was buttered and slightly seasoned which was delightful. For dessert was the lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. The lava cake was delectable. The ice cream was nothing to write home about but complimented the cake well. The downside was the berry purée that came with the dish. It was as if they poured an entire bowl of the purée onto the plate. It completely overwhelmed the dessert with sourness and tartness. I had to dodge it as best as I could. Overall was satisfied and would be interested in coming back to see if things would improved.

Best Gin and Steak Place in Stuttgart! No Kidding!…read more Wow, where do I begin? Ampulle is an amazing place! It was originally an apotheker (pharmacy) long ago. I remember it from years back when it was a high end Schwaben restaurant. Now it is THE dry gin and steak place in Stuttgart. Over 200 gins, and nearly 30 tonics, an incredible food menu and dry aged steaks. Also possibly the best ceaser salad I have ever had... The incredible food and drink are complimented by an absolutely wonderful staff to serve you and make for an enjoyable experience. The staff, Dennis, Marius, Marcel, Mahte, Alina, Chiara, all make coming to Ampulle not only a special event, but make it feel like home. If you love Gin then there is NO other place in Stuttgart with the selection of gins this place has to offer. If you love steak, you will be extremely impressed by the quality of the beef, and the skill of the wonderful chefs who cook it for you. A very nice Biergarten awaits you outside for the fine Stuttgart evenings. A great location in the best part of town, Stuttgart West. I have been coming here a couple time a week for the last two years and this place is one of the many reasons that Stuttgart is such a great town. So... What are you waiting for?! Get your Gin and Steak on!!! Yeee Haaa!

We decided to look at the bottom of the menu and treat ourselves with a pricy (25 euros) mixed platter of 'Schwaebisch' delicacies (apparently prepared at the Staeffele restaurant next door) served on a huge, well-stuffed plate. The overall impression is that it is authentic and well prepared. Mjummy maultaschen! We also loved the side-dishes of sauerkraut and lentils which go great with the bacon. However, good but not the best seasoned meat we had. The quality/price ratio was in this case unfavorable, but the massive quantity, side-dishes and sweet waitress & waiter make this a solid 4 stars, with a narrow escape to 5.
