Excellent food and service. Our server was knowledgeable and provided insight to the menu, substitution ideas, fan favorites, etc. I loved the Suki Yaki noodle bowl. It was so delicious! My husband loved his Thai style fried Suki (noodle plate). Both of ours were spicy-but in a delicious way! I had have the milk tea and loved it as well. The restaurant is in a small strip mall, next to a barbershop. We'd driven by several times and seen a steady flow of customers. Friends said it was hot or miss as far as quality. Here to say that today was a "hit"--so much so that we've craved it all this week since eating there. We'll definitely go back!

This noodle place in an anonymous shopping center not on the water seems fairly Pan-Asian, and does offer some vegetarian options. However, they are limited to a few appetizers and the "vegan noodles", so I didn't get any sense of the variety of flavors on offer. The vegan noodles (also apparently gluten-free just to make sure all their bases are covered), came out with some crisp stir-fried vegetables and some tofu, but were pretty unexciting in flavor. The good news is that when they asked if I wanted hot sauce, I said yes and was treated to one of those trays with a mix of chili-garlic oil, sweet chili sauce, jalapeno something or other, and straight dried chili. These enhanced the experienced. I added some dumplings which were fried (no option for steaming things I guess) and a taro bubble tea that provided a nice contrasting flavor. In doing so, I pretty much sampled most of what they had for me. It was good, not good enough that I'd drive an hour from Charleston for noodles, but if you're in the area it's worth a stop.

Disclaimer: Beaufort is death to all foodies. All 4 star reviews are really 3 stars at best in areas that have any sense of taste. For military folk, this place is like Yuma, AZ. You have to leave outside of a 30 mile radius to get anything of quality. With that being said, Ocha Noodle Cafe isn't too bad. I stick with the Hokkien Noodles to be safe, though I used to order the Crispy Pork (I can't bring myself to spend $18 on a dish that is sometimes great but other times dry). The boba isn't bad, and also reasonably priced for being one of few locations that have it in Beaufort. I ordered the Chinese broccoli as a side, but for $6, if you think that you'd get more than 4 stems, you're wrong. If you want Asian style cuisine of decent quality, this is your place. It's consistent (minus the pork) and satisfactory.

One of my new Beaufort faves! Always fresh, tasty and filling (something that's hard to accomplish in the higher quality food around here!) Servers are lovely. Decor is simple and charming. Everything with pork belly is to die for! Ramen is rich with plenty of yummy bits and pieces inside. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. When I'm craving flavor this is where I go!

This place was pretty good, especially on a cold and windy day! We ordered the special, which was a crispy basil pork dish. We also ordered the Ocha noodle soup. The Ocha noodle soup was soooooo good. The broth was very interesting. It had a sweetness to it, and I loved it! It is a giant noodle bowl so be prepared to take home leftovers. The Crispy pork dish was very good as well. However, it was $20 and the portion was small. The dish was mostly a heaping scoop of rice. I will be back, but I will only get the noodle dishes from now on!

    Shrimp Tempura Ramen

Don't get the Shrimp Tempura Ramen. The "Shrimp Tempura" is an additional $3, and just miniature fried shrimp tails. Ramen noodles were extremely doughy. The egg and broth were definitely the best things about it, but absolutely not worth the $17. I wish I went to McDonalds. However, the customer service was great.

I've been to a lot of noodle joints all over the U.S. and this is definitely in the top 5 and it's in none other than Beaufort, South Carolina!! Go here, you will be glad you did!!

In town for the Marine Corps graduation & chose this spot for dinner because of its rating. Was very disappointed by my experience.. Food was pretty disappointing.. We had crab rangoon for apps.. I had the beef pho & my company had a combo pho & a ramen. We also shared the Ocha delight because it seemed like their special. The rangoon tasted strange.. I can't quite put a finger on it but the cream cheese wasn't really refreshing & strange is the best way I can put it. The pho broths were pretty strong while the ramen broth, on the other hand, was completely bland - my friend who owns a restaurant - was curious whether the chef had forgotten to put in the seasoning. The beef in the pho was also like cardboard. The Ocha delight was also underwhelming with poorly made rice & over seasoned & overcooked meat. Additionally, they seem to run out of menu items quite often as the server had to check if they had a few things we asked for (& they actually didn't). On the bright side, +1 star because their servers were very friendly/helpful & their portions were quite large (they at least gave a LOT of noodles in each dish).

Food was decent especially with the limited options in the Beaufort area. The restaurant could definitely use some tidying up and cleaning.

The food here is average, and the hours of operation are ridiculous. Good luck coming here and catching them open. Not worth the gamble.

    What are the hours?

They've been slowly adjusting their hours to fit the crowd. Currently it appears they are open 11-2:30 for lunch and then 4:30- 8 for dinner. They extend that to 9pm on Friday and they're closed in Sunday.

Verenice was the BEST! Give that girl a raise or a promotion! She was doing it all! From taking orders, bringing food out, and cleaning up tables! She helped us navigate the menu/ordering. She also brought out our food to the table and was so helpful during our first time here. There were lots of ramen options to choose from. You choose your broth and meat option and that tells you your price. You can add extra toppings for additional costs. Runs about less than $20 a person. They have fountain drink options as well as other Asian drinks. They have rice bowl options as well as meat on a stick. They don't have kids meal options but it's about $8 for noodles and broth. Which is a good option for kids. I ordered shoyu broth for my son. I didn't realize it would taste so salty. I understand it's a soy sauce broth. But most ramen broths I've had isn't to that degree. I asked if they could add hot water to the hot water to make it less salty. Verenice again was so helpful, she brought the ramen back out and said if I needed more water added to just ask. I will say I did not appreciate the additional comments from some of the kitchen staff. The place is decorated with lots of anime characters. They have a vending machine with goodies. A claw machine with stuffed animals and lots of Pokémon cards for sale.

Hi Everyone, Ya,…read moreknow, maybe you don't feel like bagging your lunch today, or making diner tonight, but you've got to eat! What ever will you do? What type of food do you want to eat, now or later? Questions, questions, those nagging questions. Well we here, in the peanut gallery, may have a solution for you today. If you enjoy eating Sushi (Japanese cuisine, in which raw or cooked fish can be inserted into or be placed a top a rice roll with other ingredients). Now I thought that Sushi was ONLY raw fish (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), and Sushmi which I thought was actually only cooked fish inserted in, or a top a rice roll, with other ingredients, such as seaweed, cream cheese, imitation crab (I.e. pressed white fish) etc... But, bust my buttons, Sushmi is actually Hindu female name, not a name for Asian cusine, which means welcoming or pleasant, (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), but I digress, along with some other Chinese classics then we can highly recommend you visit AKOMEYA right here in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because my friends, their food entrees are actually very savory and delicious treats. Their ambiance is inviting, neat, and clean. Their Servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. Their prices are affordable, that's right, as in, most of us can actually afford to pay for them. For instance, they offer four lunch (ONLY) Chinese meals that are relatively healthy as prepared with a delicate balanced of ingredients that are tastebuds delight. And yes, Jethro, them there "viddles" will fill your belly and keep you a comin back for more helpins! But for how much? $10.00 per entree. Now that them their is an affordable price for lunch, even for Jethro da Bodeen. Their diner menu offers many delightful and tasty tantalizing entrees as well which we have also have enjoyed multiple times. So if you have a hankerin for some good viddles like our man Jethro, it's time to get on down to AKOMEYA and git sum. BTW, Akomeya is also a specialty rice shop with locations at many major train stations in Tokyo. Although rice is their main focus, they also offer an impressive selection of kitchen goods, condiments, and snacks--making it a must-visit for cooking enthusiasts or anyone in search of thoughtful, Japan-made gifts (which I know you knew, but I didn't ). Enjoy!

Never asked again. Then I asked for a glass of water and she didn't say a word. Just turned around and got it. Brought it back and just sat it down and walked away. We ordered two sushi rolls and she didn't bring utensils to eat it with. I had to find them for us. Then my wife wanted a little bowl for soy sauce. I had to go find it because our server was no where to be found. She had an attitude about anything we asked for. I'm not joking when I say it was the worst service I've ever had. Needless to say the tip wasn't what it should have been or could have been. Now the food? Awesome! I had the hot sand sour soup (one of the best I've ever had), we had two different sushi rolls. One was the Akomeyea roll and the other was some tuna roll I didn't eat. The chicken low mien was very good and plenty of it. I gave it 3 stars because the food was very good. If we ever decide to get dinner here again it would definitely be to go. No way would I eat in the restaurant again with service like that and as empty as the place was. I get why it was like that if all the service is like that.

We had a reservation and when we entered it was a bit confusing with people all over the place in the entrance not sure whether waiting to speak to the hostess or just casually waiting to be called for their table. After getting sorted we spoke to the hostess and then were shortly seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders right away. We got 2 cokes and a Whiskey Sour with Japanese Whiskey. After waiting about 15 min the waiter came back to take our food order, however we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked and said they were coming swiftly. Finally after 10 minutes later our drink orders came in. The cokes were flat but the Whiskey Sour was really good. I can't remember the waiters name but honestly she came by maybe 4 times the whole night and did not have the best attitude. The best thing about Ukiyo hands down was the food. Everything from the Ramen to the wagyu bao buns, just Wow. The wagyu was so crispy and just melted in your mouth. The ramen had amazing flavor profiles and was perfectly spiced. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage and this was so tender with the citrus mayo. This was also pretty big so were easily filled with all these dishes. The food and cocktails were amazing but the service really did disappoint from the delays and infrequent interactions.
