He did a sloppy job of cleaning half my teeth which left my mouth hurting for a couple of days and tried to push a "deep cleaning" procedure instead. He didn't explain anything, he was grumpy and in an obvious hurry to see me out, and his bedside manner was really unprofessional. The only good thing about his office was his amazing, polite and friendly receptionist. Too bad she's not the one doing the procedures.

Been coming here since 2014. Love the staff, hygienists, and dentists. They treat you like a…read moreperson, get to know you, and don't make you feel rushed. They take many forms of insurance and any out-of-pocket expenses have been low and fair. We never feel that they pressure us to perform work that isn't required. The waiting area isn't large and neither is the office. A short walk from the subway or bus. Parking can be difficult. The only thing preventing them from 5 stars is the back office staff: they're not good at follow-up. I frequently have to chase them for preventive procedures as they need insurance authorization. Sometimes they overbook or allow walk-ins delaying our appointments. All in all, the best dentist we've had for many years, and highly recommend this practice. Much love to Dr. Weiss.

I just went to see Dr. Farber for a cleaning this past week and was very disappointed in the…read moreservice. When I first walked in, the receptionist was extremely nonchalant and unfriendly, so I already had a bad vibe. After being invited to sit down after 20 minutes, Dr. Farber invited me in. Though it was my first time meeting her, she didn't introduce herself formally to me, nor did she ask me how I was doing or make any attempt to get to know me as a person rather than just someone she needed to do dental services on. This entire appointment felt like a business transaction rather than a dentist-getting-to-know-her-patient type meeting that I was used to growing up. The worst part about this appointment was that before I even opened my mouth for it to be examined, she explicitly said that she needed to take x-rays. I said I did not want to because I had just had them 6 months ago with my previous dentist, and I thought it was unnecessary. She responded, if I don't have x-rays, I won't know the condition of your teeth, so I cannot do your cleaning. I found this completely ludicrous - how can she not clean my teeth without x-rays? If she wants to know what my teeth look like, can't I just open my mouth for her to see?!), but because I had already scheduled this appointment and taken the time to come here (and was on new insurance, so I wouldn't get charged), I figured I'd do the bare minimum of four x-rays so that she could get what she wanted (and if you know the way the healthcare system in the U.S. works, you know that she is profiting off of those four tiny x-rays she did). So she took the x-rays, did my cleaning (which was actually a pretty thorough job), and then as I walked out, she said, "see you in six months!" I'm definitely not going to see her in six months, or ever again after this experience. She was not friendly, had no desire to get to know me at all, and forced me to take x-rays for the sake of taking x-rays. **And to make matters worse, I made this appointment via ZocDoc and posted a negative review there. Her office immediately saw the review, called ZocDoc, and asked them to remove my review from the ZocDoc site, stating that it was "inaccurate." I'm not sure about you, but I would say that this is a violation of freedom of speech, as any doctor/dentist could say that any negative review posted about them was "inaccurate" and then have that review taken down. This immediately becomes a problem of "he said vs. she said," and by removing my review of the dentist from their site, they are indirectly siding with the doctor. UPDATE: I just received the Explanation of Benefits from my insurance this week for this dental visit. Apparently, Dr. Farber's office wanted to charge my insurance $165 for a "dental exam," $195 for the x-rays she bullied me into taking, and $250 for the cleaning. Charging my insurance $165 when she barely looked at my tonsils and spent less than 10 seconds "examining" my mouth is a real insult. I had been seeing Dr. Ballard for a few years. recently she performed a root canal on my incisor…read moredue to an infection I had - days later I still had pain in the tooth and I called to schedule a follow up appointment not understanding why with a root canal I was still feeling pain; she took x-rays And then immediately took a panoramic x-ray so I knew something was wrong. She came in after the panoramic and told me that I had a severe infection and needed to see an endodontist immediately, and that I may lose four of my top teeth on the left side due to the infection. Mind you at my age of 59 I've only ever had one filling and one cavity in my entire life for this to be happening seem unreal, I questioned how this could've happened I did not get an answer- so I went to the endodontist she referred me to who was absolutely terrible. no bedside manner, no gentleness (when he asked me if I was in pain and I told him yes he just continued right on working ). I asked him how this could've happened (with my husband standing next to me) and all he did was make a face and shrugged his shoulders. I had paid Dr. Ballard for a root canal and now this endodontist had to perform a second root canal n the same tooth which cost me over $1400 out of pocket. He only put in a temporary filling, advising me to go back to my dentist for permanent filling. when I called to make an appointment I was told I had to wait till until after New Year for that appointment this situation was something that it happened early to mid December. I had a surgery planned for the end of December so I could not have any kind of dental work performed three weeks prior and now I have to wait till three weeks later to have it completed I can't believe she wouldn't fit me in! when I wrote an email to her practice. I literally got a call the next day saying how upset they were that I would question another doctor about Dr. Ballard's treatment. Can you believe it - how upset they were?? I have every right to do so being (told that I may lose four teeth due to an infection without being told how the infection could've possibly happened), but since I still had pain on a tooth that had a root canal, it leads me to believe that something was missed. Well, after I was told this was slander in writing by Dr Ballard, and I was immediately dismissed from her care as she felt we were not compatible. when everything was going well We were perfectly compatible for the longest time. As soon as I question something all of a sudden we are no longer compatible, interesting isn't it? - no problem. Plenty of other dentists out there. As far as slander I'm amazed that she would use this terminology. Maybe she should look up the definition. I made absolutely no false statements against her to anyone . I simply questioned her and the specialist she sent me to. Obviously, she had no concern for my anxiety of having been told I may need four teeth, pulled, and implants placed.

I chose Schweitzer & Schweitzer based on the reviews I had read and I am not out to slander them…read more This review is not about the quality of the work I received. It is about being gravely overcharged for a 15 minute office visit. This is my story, the positive and the negative: In 2022, Dr. Sheth did a renovation for me over a period of several months. It was expensive (costing about twice as much as the other estimate I had received), but I was very satisfied with the esthetics of the final result. Schweitzer and Schweitzer has their own lab technician and he is a veritable artist, so I felt that I got what I paid for. Fast forward to June of 2024: I noticed that the porcelain was coming off on the inside portion of a porcelain-fused-to-metal implant which is right next to the renovation that Dr. Sheth had completed for me two years before. I was worried that it would keep coming off around the front until I had nothing but a black tooth showing there. I also had a big event to go to in Europe that was six weeks away, so I made an appoint with Dr. Sheth to ask for help. That appointment lasted 15 minutes. Dr. Sheth held a mirror to the affected area and tugged on the bridge he had installed to make sure it wasn't loose. That was all he did. He didn't check to see how tight the space was between the that implant and the newer bridge. He didn't check my bite to see if was unbalanced. He didn't seem to wonder what had caused the porcelain to chip away or suggest any possible reasons why it was happening. He told me that a resin wouldn't stick (despite several published articles claiming that they can) and that redoing that segment of my mouth was ill advised because it could have a destabilizing effect. Lastly, he told me not to eat ice (I don't eat ice). Then, I was charged $150 for that 15-minute consultation, literally $10 per minute, and I was a returning patient to boot. The next day, I called and politely requested a partial refund for that visit but was told that I had already received a discount. That is to say that Dr. Sheth would normally charge more for doing so little. So beware future patients! You won't necessarily get what you pay for.
