I had started going to Dr. Vu's dental office a few years ago when I had pain in my teeth and gums - I thought my teeth were going to fall out! She did an amazing job with a deep cleaning that day (while assuring me that my teeth were not actually going to fall out!) and I have been going for regular check ups and cleanings ever since. She even did a fantastic job straightening my teeth last year with Invisalign. I was hesitant at first because my insurance wasn't going to cover the full amount, but I'm so glad I went through with it. I don't feel my teeth constantly grinding anymore, and I have confidence in myself when I smile now. When you decide to check her office out, you'll notice that her staff is truly warm and professional. They make every visit feel pleasant, and I've never had a bad experience going to my appointment. This is my 3rd visit this year (today's visit is for my husband and I'm here for moral support and for company). Always great service with friendly staff. I chose Dr. Vu based on the reviews I seen online and because of 2 other facts- a women run local business & first generation Asian American family to settle here and open successful. At the time of our first visit, I was running high on Asian pride and supporting Asian businesses (especially small local businesses). Dr. Tu-Anh Vu and her staff are AMAZING! They are always happy to see you and sound so happy when they genuinely ask "how are you?" Always a pleasure which is something you don't associate with dentist. But I always look at dental care as another important health care. I've been lax with my dental care due to insurance reasons and haven't had care in awhile which showed. My old childhood faithful dentist is back in Flushing queens and I want one closer to me now. Dr. Vu and her staff help with preventative care in maintaining my teeth which required me to make another visit 3 months after my first visit for a followup cleaning. After that visit, I was good to go for the next visit (in 6months). We even changed our manual toothbrush to electric toothbrushes on her suggestion for better dental care. Thanks! Dr. Vu is my favorite dentist ever! Her office is cute, clean, and filled with the latest dental technologies (iTero, her own milling machine to make crowns in office!!). The staff always greets me with a warm smile and even remembered my name by my second visit. Roselle, the dental hygienist, is the sweetest motherly figure and I feel like I'm getting a warm hug every time she takes care of me. Her pricing for Invisalign is extremely reasonable and even comes with 4 Vivera retainers and whitening. But it doesn't stop there - at the end of my Invisalign treatment Dr. Vu closed out the office for me and gave me my own personal photoshoot! I don't think I can ever find a dentist that's as great as Dr. Vu. And I've been in many dentist chairs in the past and been through more procedures than a guy like me at my age should have ever gone through. The one thing I like best about Dr. Vu is her honesty and how she "keeps it real" all the time and gives me her honest opinions and doesn't recommend things unless absolutely needed. The work she does is immaculate...especially when it comes to restoring 6 of my teeth that were previously riddled with inconsistent fillings in one single long and yet tedious procedure. It's like I have veneers without actually having veneers. I don't know how she does it but she has a crap ton of energy and positivity that just permeates through the office and just puts me at ease whenever I have to go in for an actual procedure that isn't just a routine cleaning. Luckily I don't have many of those nowadays but I'm glad that she's got my back when it comes to working on my teeth. I am so happy I found this Dr. Vu's dental office. I originally found her on Zocdoc and called the make a long awaited appointment (it's been 3+ years since I went to the dentist). My old dentist has a very limited schedule due to Covid-19, so it was hard to get an appointment. The receptionist I spoke to was very nice and answered all my questions. Upon arriving, the same nice lady was there and I quickly filled out a few papers and was seen right away! It was very nice not having to wait at all to see the dentist. The assistant took a few x-rays and was very nice and gentle, and then I met Dr. Vu who does indeed do the cleaning! It was virtually painless and they looked great afterwards. She did tell me my wisdom teeth were coming in and I should look to get them removed so they don't cause more pain. I was in and out in about 45 minutes. Dr. Vu actually does all the cleaning and works herself which is amazing! Normally a hygienist cleans and the doctor comes in for a quick and brief exam. Dr. Vu does everything and explains everything clearly. You also never feel rushed out of the office. I love her personality. She makes a deep cleaning very entertaining. I have been avoiding going to the dentist due to previous traumatic experiences. Im so glad Dr. Tu and her team opened their practice in this area and I was able to discover them a few years back. I have been going to my cleanings and checkups bi-annually as scheduled. The cleaning is done gently and I feel minimal discomfort. She also gives floss in the care package after each visit, which is neat. Unfortunately, my insurance changed and Dr. Tu was no longer in my network. I have been avoiding finding a new dentist. I just got another cleaning and it was a great experience. The entire process took less than half an hour (note that this is for a straightforward, simple cleaning but yay for short wait times). Everyone is still masked and the place is spotless so I felt very safe. I have never left the dentist feeling so welcomed and cared for. The staff are so friendly and they spoke to me like I was family. They genuinely care about creating positive experiences for their clients. I felt very comfortable asking questions and making comments. I also really appreciate that they don't just tell you what's going on with your teeth, but they explain it to you so that you're also learning a lot about how to better care for your teeth. I've since started flossing regularly and my teeth are much healthier than before. From today's appointment I also found out that I may need to have a root canal but rather than telling me that was my only option, Dr. Tu made cost effective recommendations. Tamara, Annie & Dr. Tu are the best trio ever! I've never felt so comfortable in any medical office before. The teeth cleaning was the fastest and best I've ever had! My gums are usually bleeding by the end but not here. Annie gave me the teeth cleaning. I had a chipped tooth and Dr. Tu helped file them down. No pain whatsoever! I also have TMJ and was recommended a mouth guard at night. Superb service started on the very first phone call. The receptionist was very sweet and informative and was not peeved when I had to continuously reschedule multiple appointments. The hygienist was great with my 2 and 4 year old. She was great with the kids and gentle that they sat still and behaved while on the chair. Dr. Tu was ethical, knowledgeable and she made me feel extremely well taken cared of. She popped an abbess on my 2 year's gum to drain the blood and bacteria and he didn't even cry! It just sucks that she does not perform work under nitrous gas for kids and I would need to find another pediatric dentist. But I can't wait to go back next Saturday for my own appointment. I had a bad experience with a root canal (that ended up in extraction) when I was a child so I decided I'd never go to the dentist. I let this go on for too long until I needed another root canal, and a crown a few years ago. It was a TERRIBLE experience that made me relive my painful childhood memories. I again let it go too long until eating was nearly impossible, so I decided to try Tu's. My first exam was great. They told me all I needed done, and that I had to wait 3 weeks for the insurance to approve. Fast forward two months later when I build up courage to go... I was really nervous but the staff was AMAZING. They made me feel at ease, and they were talking to me like they were my bffs! I was shaking and wasn't talking much, but was entertained (and laughing at times). They really go out of the way to acommodate you. Oh, yeah. The root canal. I am still skeptical because it was TOO EASY AND PAINLESS. I will report back if anything happens, but I am telling you... I didn't feel ANYTHING. It was like magic! I'm almost reluctant to write this review because I don't want to share my hidden dental office gem away. Let's be honest here - it's hard to find a non sketchy dental establishment in Bensonhurst. Other places are usually worn out with uptight receptionists, stressed out dentists, and cranky patients. Trust me - I've had past, uneasy experiences where I walked out from a dental clinic in even more anxiety and stress. Tu's Dental is truly a refreshing breath of air. Dr. Tu and Leslie (dental assistant) were nothing but genuine, friendly, and most importantly - professional. They took their time to hear my story and made me feel well taken care of in their humble office. Dr. Tu is not a specialist in braces or TMJ but still gave me her perspectives on my conditions. During my conversation with Dr. Tu, I felt like there was an open dialogue of mutual understanding and respect. I was able to voice my concerns and ask any questions without reservations. She was very communicative with her limitations and breadth of knowledge. If she knows something, then she knows. If she doesn't know something, then she doesn't. It's easy for any doctor to make a buck. Personally speaking - I am biased towards doctors who only have private practices and don't accept any medical insurances. If you want to make a quick buck, please do society a favor and go study finance or something at Wharton/Booth/Haas, etc. The American health system itself is also to blame, sure. A doctor provides services because he/she genuinely cares about making people feel better and understands different hardships that people go through - whether it's physical and/or mental. Period. And this is why Dr. Tu offers different payment methods to ease your level of stress and ultimately - treat you. At large - this is a heartwarming example of building a community by igniting hope one by one. I love this place! Take my word of mouth experience. I have been here for a tooth bonding and a root canal, I'll be coming back to have all my other dental care done here. Dr. Vu is so sweet! She takes the time to make sure you are 100% comfortable. She will talk to you and treat you as if you grew up together your whole life, which I personally like! Found a lovely dental clinic just around the corner from my home! Dr. Vu is a skilled dentist and different from any other dentist I've been to. She takes the effort to go all the way out to know you as a person and going to the dentist just becomes a fun experience. She practices gentle dentistry just like what her clinic front says and my teeth cleaning process was seamless and painless; it was done without me even realizing it. She makes dental office visits easy and enjoyable. I don't think there's anything about dentistry to fear about if you are being taken care of by her and she has this ability to melt your anxieties (Coupled with the fact that she has cute decor filled with turquoise colored fluffy pillows, nice pictures and music video on large screen makes it even more relaxing and homely).
