I went to BRooklyn Heights Dental yesterday for a hygiene appointment. Jonathan was extremely attentive and detailed. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and that I understood everything he observed. I got a very thorough cleaning and more importantly a treatment plan and a discussion on how to maintain proper hygiene. While visiting Brooklyn Heights Dental, my experience have been exceptional. I needed an emergency tooth extraction and this place was able to accommodate me last minute. As a first time visitor I was blown away with the warm and inviting welcome from the front desk staff. Once I started the nurses were attentive and helpful. They explained the process thoroughly and made sure I knew what to expect. Dr.Stanislaus started the procedure and made sure to follow through with making sure I felt no pain. He was knowledgeable and answered any question I had. I was constantly attended to and made to feel at ease, it was a lengthy process but I was treated with patience and grace. After getting multiple calls and texts since the visit, this is what I finally texted them after having had a bad experience (with no response): "I actually had an awful experience at your office and would like you to remove me from your list. To begin with, the person who I called to set up the appointment could not get my information correct on the phone. I repeated it over and over to the point that I believe she was actually messing with me. She didn't successfully get my info during that call but when she (or whoever) called back she did seem nice and apologetic and asked me if I still wanted to make the appointment. I did. I was told that I would have to pay like $275 and they would have to do x rays which was included in that price and the assessment. It was a very simple, small chip on my tooth. Okay. Great. So then I go to the office, paid, all that and I explained that I was extremely extremely tired and asked for the dentist to leave the chair reclined. She kept coming and going from the room but every single time she kept putting the chair back. It was extremely rude. I had already paid and did not want to waste my $275 on an assessment which DIDN'T even involve x rays and was just a simple look in my mouth. I definitely feel that the dentist treated me that way bc of some kind of gossip about me bc of the phone call. I honestly have a "valley girl" accent ("vocal fry") and I felt like I was treated like I was some entitled white girl when that isn't the case. I felt like whoever called me back the second time seemed genuine and hospitable so I felt welcome to come in despite the initial phone call. However, the dentist was super rude to me and I felt unwelcome. She was very very impatient with me and didn't do a good job initially so I asked her to add some more of the bonding and also make it more smooth on the back. She was like super exasperated with me for some reason and was snippy with me. I don't know what her problem was but, again, she made me feel really really unwelcome. No recommended. I tried this office while looking for a dentist closer to home. (My current Manhattan-based outfit is a little too far out of the way.) Brooklyn Heights Dental looked good on paper. I noticed that their cancelation fee is even higher than Manhattan (who would have guessed?), and their office staff attitude leaves a lot to be desired. I paid $350 for the initial consultation (x-rays and cleaning) since they required payment over the phone prior to the appointment. The bad part of this is that I ended up walking out halfway through the initial assessment due to the rudeness of the hygienist. I called my old dental office to schedule my bi-annual cleaning, the worst part is that I'm now out the $350 with nothing to show for it. read more

I'll admit, I was *that* person... Hadn't been to the dentist in years and was afraid of what was going to happen if I went in after so much neglect. Would it be fine or would they come back and say, "I'm sorry, sir. We're going to need to do an entire mouth transplant. We've never seen anything so bad." Thankfully, my experience at Brooklyn Heights Dental with Dr. Stanislaus has been fantastic! When I came in for my first visit (again, the first in a long time), they were very understanding and non-judgmental. They took photos and x-rays and walked me through the State of My Mouth©. Unsurprisingly, I had a few cavities that I'd need to get filled. Also, when I asked about my two wisdom teeth that were coming in, Dr. Stanislaus explained that they were probably fine but, if I was worried about crowding, that he could do the extraction. Over the course of a few months, I ended up getting all my cavities filled in addition to having my 2 wisdom teeth pulled. Every time I went in, it was actually a pleasant experience! Dr. Stanislaus would always greet me with a big smile and hand-shake and the front-desk staff would recognize me and say hello. My fillings all went very smoothly and my wisdom teeth extractions healed up quicker than I expected! Since then, going in for cleanings has been a breeze and I feel so much more confident about my dental health. I was in so much pain and called this office as an emergency. They were able to fit me in on the same day. The staff is super friendly. Dr. Stanislaus and his associates examined my teeth and figured out what the issue was and they came up with a plan immediately. I was able to get all my work done on the same day which is unbelievable. His bedside manner is excellent. He makes you feel like you're his friend. He explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I'm generally not a fan of going to the dentist but this was a really good experience. Based on the amazing reviews on the internet, I decided to give Brooklyn Heights Dental a try. I was very intimidated and scared as I needed a lot of work done , my teeth were not in good shape. Dr. Stanislaus was so unbelievably respectful and caring, not posing ANY judgements. I immediately felt at ease with him. I had some major cosmetic work done ( including a root canal) and OMG it was a breeze. Dr. S made it painless and ALWAYS delivers beautiful results. He sits down with you listens to your concerns and throughly explains what every treatment is like, what to expect ( unlike so many dentists who put you in the chair and leave you in the dark). Fortunately, I discovered Dr. Stanislaus's office after my dentist of many years retired. I was glad that he and his practice handled general dentristy as well as periodontal and cosmetic. I had been ignoring my prior dentist's advise to consult a periodontist. Prior to preforming necessary gum surgery known as LANAP, Dr. Stanislaus explained each step and managed to quelch my anxiety by patiently answering all my questions. I was in terrible pain from an impacted molar and after some searching, I made my first appointment with BHD. My experience with the clinic has been nothing short of exceptional. It was a busy morning at the clinic but dr Stanislaus squeezed me in for an early afternoon appointment, asking me if I could hold up till then. I fell on my face and chipped one of my front teeth. I was absolutely devastated and terrified that I would always look like a hillbilly. I found BHD on google when I searched "best cosmetic dentist in Brooklyn". I had got recommendations to other dentists but their Yelp reviews were questionable. I am so happy I ended up going to BHD! I was a little worried that they didn't have many reviews and feared I didn't have enough information to go on, but decided to book an appointment anyways. Fortunately I was able to get an appointment for two days after I called. I was so excited that I would possibly be able to get it done before Thanksgiving. When I got there I waited for 35 minutes.. But that's really nothing compared to other doctors offices I go to as a new patient. There were some forms I needed to fill out, obviously. The receptionists were attentive and apologized for the wait. When I got into the office with Dr. Reid, she told me that she would be able to do it right then. It would be a 'simple bonding and no need for numbing'. She quoted 400$ for the bonding... Which was a lot less than I thought it would have been. I agree out of my dental insurance so that also included and X-ray. She also didn't charge for the consultation and just charged for the work. The bonding took less than 30 minutes! And there was no pain! I am so happy that I found this place. My mother went with me and wants to make an appointment for herself there. We also promised to tell everyone we know. I am not the type to be afraid of the dentist and don't really mind it. But I was a wreck about my tooth and was terrified that it would never look the same. I am so happy to say that it does! She will answer all of my questions and I don't feel that she is running out of the room to get to another patient. I really like the hygienist Guiselle, who gets my teeth super clean with minimal pain. What I also Love about this office is that they do not overbook! I am so sick of waiting hours when I have an appointment already. From my experience there is never more than 1-2 people in the lobby and you are in and out. Their technology is top notch. If you are looking for a great experience going to the dentist this is the place for you. The entire staff truly understands what it means to provide excellent customer service. From the moment I made my first appointment via phone, I knew I was dealing with a well established facility. I was greeted by a sweet woman by the name of Rita when I called inquiring about available appointment times and accepted insurances. She answered all my questions thoroughly and I looked forward to my appointment once I finished speaking with her. Upon arriving to my appointment I was greeted by the Dr. Stanislaus while waiting in the reception area. There were a few people waiting before me and he told me I would be seen soon. When I was called to head into my appointment I was introduced to Sharice who did a wonderful job taking my dental x rays. Although she was young, she was very confident when taking my x rays and she tried her best to accommodate me when I expressed how uncomfortable it was to hold the x ray device in my mouth. I'm positive she will make a great dentist one day. Afterwards I was introduced to Giselle who did a wonderful job explaining my x rays and also suggesting things I could do to improve my oral health. She did an even better job giving me my cleaning. I have had experiences with other dental offices but I have never received more valuable knowledge about teeth than what I received from Giselle. (A special shout out goes to Andrea who was assisting Giselle with the CPU and wasn't offended when I asked her what she was doing). I even received a "goody bag" from Giselle that included floss, mouthwash, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. I can't tell when it was the last time I received anything other than pain from the dentist. And finally I was formally introduced to Dr. Stanislaus. He did a great job as well explaining to me my options in order to improve my oral health. He was very thorough in explaining what my options were and I felt that he genuinely cared about my well being. I am used to other dental offices doing their best to squeeze out my insurance, but from the very beginning I felt that this office was one of the very rare places that truly cared for their customer. It's no wonder they have been in business for so long. I recommend this office to anyone looking for thorough dental care. I went to this office in pain needing to get a tooth pulled. I was greeted very nicely, even the dentist greeted me and that was fabulous. X-rays were taken I was examined and I was told that I needed extensive work bridges implants crowns removed and reapplied extractions things of this nature; I was very aware of this and I made this fact known when I stepped into the office, but I was there for a specific reason. Fast forward two hours and I see the office manager who proceeds to tell me that I need over $20,000 of work done. i'm not surprised but what I am disappointed in is that I left that office still in severe pain. The issue wasn't addressed and I was made to feel as if my issue was unimportant without first discussing finances. Yes, everyone has to get paid and I was certainly willing to pay for the services needed because my teeth need a lot of work but not at the expense of treating me as a human being and not an ATM. If I'm going to spend enough to put your child through college treat me as if I have feelings and address my issues as I bring them to you. I would not recommend this office unless they change their office manager; she negated everything that had happened the 2 hours prior. The prices are also ridiculous but if the work was good I was willing to overlook. Now, I'll never know if the work was worth the price. read more

best dentist EVER! I'm afraid of going to the dentist, so much that i postponed going, even though a molar filling fell out about 10 years ago! The hole got big enough that a piece broke off, then another, then I only had half a molar left. It started to dully feel sensation so I figured I needed to get it pulled. A friend gave me Dr. Stanislov's contact info at this office and I called this office along with a few others. From the get-go, this office cared about my poorly neglected tooth more than I did, so I went with them. The second i set foot into the office, i felt relieved due to the clean and doctor office presentation. Staff was super helpful and showed me that my tooth was able to be salvaged and even helped me apply for Care Credit to help finance my root canal and post. They were able to give me a root canal that day and we set up future appointments to get my tooth back in action. Dr Stanislov is great! Light handed and super knowledgable! He and the team has been so professional and informative that I am happy they are the team to get my teeth and gums back into shape! As much as i hated the dentist, I will now be seing this dentist regularly to help maintain all my teeth and ensure that my health is in tip-top shape! read more

I was looking for a new dentist after my previous dentist dropped the ball a few too many times with scheduling. Super nice guy but I work for myself and just couldn't risk another scheduling mishap since time = money when you see clients for a living. As a business owner and business coach myself, lack of business structure kind of drives me batty. I figured I'd give him one more shot if he (his office manager) reached out to reschedule my appt that was scheduled for March 2020 and so of course was cancelled due to the pandemic. But no one ever called or followed up. So I was on the hunt for a new dentist and was hoping to find a business that was either minority or female owned. I was so pleased to find BHD! They're super knowledgeable, helpful, kind, ORGANIZED, and pleasant to be around. Great people, but way overpriced. Don't even waste your time if you don't have insurance. $175 for a cleaning and x-rays?! You can have the same service done for $10 at a dental school or clinic. I went in for a consultation for a crown or veneer. $1,650 for a crown...$800 extra for a post?! Also, paid $95 for one x-ray of one tooth and the experience of feeling like a total burden to the doctor, himself. They told me it could be applied to the total cost of the crown/post procedure. Ha! Every member at Brooklyn Heights Dental is very warm, friendly, and welcoming. They are non-judgmental, and make you feel comfortable and at ease right from the start. The office is very clean, professional, and yet feels very homely, very different from the usual dentist's office. The environment is both professional and casual at the same time, and that can go a long way to towards calming your nerves if you are the anxious type. Both Dr. Stanislaus and Dr. Reid are very down to earth and very easy to talk to, they are also great listeners and explainers, and dedicated to finding the right solution for you. Dr steinalaus and dr Reid are fantastic. My family goes here for all our dental needs. They are clearly the best at what they do, and actually care about your health and teeth. The only complaint is that I've experienced quite a bit of pain through many procedures and cleaning by the hygienist, this was mirrored by my partner. I was a bit shocked no pain meds were offered when i received 9 stitches and over an hr surgery. However, the good dr took care of that once i called the next day. Love these guys! Found them when I needed major cosmetic work for my wedding and Lisa Reid was fabulous! She has an excellent bedside manner and answered all my questions thoroughly. They were fabulous at working with me since I don't have dental insurance. And doesn't push additional procedures on me, but she is honest about "how long" I should go without certain things.
