I remember when Dr. Ifill first opened her practice years ago in a small office on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn; I was a young public school teacher looking for affordable care, and aside from going away to graduate school, I've been nowhere else for my dental care needs, and now my family also goes to Garden Dental. When I returned she of course remembered me, and her practice has grown into a beautiful space, with advanced tools and methods. Dr. Ifill's expertise and care for both her patients and the community are indicative of the consummate professional and representative of her patients that's she's always been; she wants us all to be healthy and happy, and that's what her care is about. Her work is more than dentistry: Dr. Ifill is a philanthropist, an instructor and mentor for new physicians entering the field, and a model of excellence as a Black woman business owner. What's she's accomplished couldn't have been easy, yet after all these years, she's still keeping tireless hours in her office, with patients and on the job. She's just as personable and friendly as she's always been, patient with any questions and concerns. I appreciate the time taken at Garden Dental to educate me in how to best care for my teeth; they make recommendations of procedures and products that I accept or don't as I or anybody can so choose, and the goodie bags with extra floss, toothbrush and paste are great too. From the chats during consults, the lovely front desk staff who also know your name, and make me feel at home with every visit, Garden Dental makes something that could be a chore more akin to visiting with a neighbor for coffee. read more

Dr. Ifill and her team at Garden Dental are the BEST! I feel so lucky to have found them. They are my favorite dental practice of all time, a small practice, led by a brilliant and caring dentist -- everyone from the hygienists to the tech assistants and the administrative folks at the front desk are attentive and capable. Aside from regular cleaning visits, I recently got 2 upper front teeth crowns, and they are perfect! read more

First and foremost, ROBYN the hygienist is AMAZING. I hadn't been to dentist in a long while because of phobia. I was nervous and scared. Robyn was kind, funny and patient with me. I had to have gum scaling which was scary but Robyn got me through it. I cannot say enough about her authentic, light positive demeanor. Dr. Ifil took the time to explain my care plan. She's gentle and thorough with your care. She explained everything in my plan and assured me that she wouldn't hurt me. If you are dental phobic and have avoided the dentist, this is the place for you. The entire staff is pleasant, professional and supportive. read more

I thought I had finally found an honest dentist! (remember the more work they do the more money they make) So after a cleaning and a check up, EXTENSIVE work was scheduled (no cavities) and I had a gut feeling something wasn't right and went for a second opinion. And I was right! NOTHING wrong at all with my teeth. My advice is if something doesn't feel right, go and have a second opinion!!! I will never go to this dentist again! read more

Many positive reviews but recommend proceeding with caution. Actual dentistry is very good, but front desk / organization and communication plus billing is poor. They will over charge and not be transparent with services received, and then withhold and delay refunding. They do not communicate with each other and fail to reply to email or calls. They also claim to require two visits for an annual check up as policy, so this may cost you more. Further, although this may not be their issue, they currently do not accept direct reimbursement with Delta Dental, so this caused some of the above issues. I am looking for a more transparent and clearer communications with my health providers, so will be seeking other options. read more

Great great care. The entire staff is diverse and everyone is really friendly. Dr. Ifill doesn't do unnecessary procedures and makes sure that you're completely comfortable at all times. Many dentists forget that they're dealing with a human being in the chair and ignore that they may be hitting sensitive nerves or making you uncomfortable; she is not like that at all. Great dentist for if you have anxiety about going to the dentist. read more

By far the best dental practice I've been to in my 32 years of life. The front desk/hygienists/doctors are all so nice and informative. I've never felt as relaxed and taken care of at the dentist as I do here. Love them! Highly recommend! read more

Really appreciate how the staff is down to wear N95 masks to prevent transmission of illnesses! Cute facility as well. The person who cleaned my teeth was lovely and made the experience painless, although I did have to wait a while for the dentist to come in. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a new dentist. Everyone in this office from the front desk staff to the hygienists to the assistants to Dr. Ifill were all so nice! Minimal wait times and clean, efficient office. Dr. Ifill found a cavity that my previous dentist missed/passed off as nothing even though I brought the problem area to their attention. She noticed it on the x-ray without me even saying anything! I ask a million questions because I'm a curious cat and she is great at explaining things to me. They are very transparent and honest about pricing for procedures and make sure you understand/are comfortable with costs before proceeding. So happy to have found a wonderful, friendly, honest dentist in the neighborhood. read more

I have had great experiences here! As someone who struggles with routine dental hygiene, I was very nervous to go back to the dentist. I called ahead and the very nice receptionist was able to accomodate my requests to work with a hygenist with mental health knowlegde. Olivia did an amazing job cleaning my teeth, and then helping me come up with a plan and strategies to work towards better habits. I feel empowered to make better choices for my dental health because of her. The team here clearly cares about providing honest and compassionate care & advice. If you struggle with mental health issues that impact your self care habits, don't put off going the dentist! read more

This was the best dental experience I have ever had. I was wary of going to the dentist to begin with due to horrible past experiences, but especially now due to COVID. As soon as you enter the office your mind is made at easy. The PPE and sanitary measures are fantastic. The office looks immaculate and the staff are friendly as well as attentive. My cleaning was thorough and I understood the results of my exam; my dental hygienist and Dr.Ifil took the time to address all my questions and concerns. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

This is the best dental experience I've ever had. From the clean, bright, modern office to the staff--it's excellence all around. The front desk staff, the dental staff, hygienist, dental assistants and of course Dr. Ifill--they're all warm, engaging and educate you on all the processes. I'm new to Brooklyn and finding a dentist in a new city can be intimidating. I'm so glad I found Garden Dental Arts--thank you all so much! read more

Very clean office, friendly and accommodating staff. Low pain with teeth cleaning. Didn't have to wait long to be seen. Dr. Ifill and her team are simply the best. Appointments are hard to come by so if you have one, don't cancel lol. read more

Hands down the best dental practice I've ever been to. I had heard great things about Dr. Ifill and her practice, so I literally changed insurance to one that they accepted so that I could see her. And I never looked back. I've been coming here for years now and each time I've been treated with tremendous care, courtesy and patience. I hate getting dental work done and each time, they have made the experience a pleasant one (which says A LOT for a trip to the dentist). read more

Hands down the best Dentist & staff!! I feel so taken care of & appreciative of that care. They are all so welcoming & thorough making every visit comfortable. read more

The staff is nice and if all you want is a routine cleaning, this place is fine. After getting a couple of root canals from Dr. Ifill, I have had to have one root canal redone because of an infection from an uncapped tooth. On another occasion they found a cavity but didn't fill it, then told me I should have had it filled sooner. They also spend a lot of time trying to upsell you on cosmetic work. read more

This review is so long overdue. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Ifill and her team. I started going there years ago. I had had horrible, and tear invoking experiences with dentists. I wasn't going to go to a dentist again. It was early 2012, I was nervous and I was only there as a new patient in her chair because I had a toothache. Dr. Ifill was thorough; educative; warm; gentle; and funny. In the time I went there I've had cleanings; fillings; crownings; and a root canal. They were done with so much care for my comfort; health; and overall well being. I took a hiatus because of medical reasons. Fast forward to today. GDA's support team and Dr. Ifill are amazing. The atmosphere (office decor, music, personalities) lull away any anxiety you have. The team is attentive; personable; professional; and pleasant. Dr. Ifill is still thorough; educative; warm; gentle; and funny. I live far from GDA but they are the only dental practice in the world to me; for me. I won't even consider going any place else. read more

Went in for a cleaning / check-in regarding my increasingly burdensome wisdom teeth. Dr. Ifill was very kind and informative. Made the whole visit casual and way less stressful. Love that the office is very inclusive and asks for people's pronouns in their paperwork! Also loved the treatment of the staff and hygienists! They were very warm, kind, thoughtful, and definitely gave off a relaxed vibe. It definitely feels like visiting a family practice -- cozy and professional. read more

I've been going to Garden Dental Arts for over 10 years now! It's one of Brooklyn's finest. Dr. Ifill and her staff are compassionate and true professionals. It's taken me so long to post a review bc I wanted to keep this gem to myself but knew I had to share :). Highly recommended!! read more

This morning I got my first filling ever + fitted for a night guard but it's cool bc the soundtrack at the office included RnB + South African House + my dentist is a Black woman who owns the practice + she massaged my jaw bc I held my mouth open like a champ + her staff reconfirmed my pronouns + I've been a pt here for over a year and I couldn't be happier + ALL Y'ALL NEED TO FIRE YOUR DENTISTS AND SWITCH TO GARDEN DENTAL ARTS ASAP DR. IFILL AND HER TEAM ARE AMAZING!! read more

I visited Garden Dental Arts yesterday and the service was amazing. Starting from the reception to being in the dental chair, the staff was so friendly. The office was very clean. Olivia who cleaned my teeth put me at ease and was very patient, thorough and gentle with me. It was overall just great service. I would definitely go again. read more

Despite a kerfuffle where I waited something like 30 minutes for my first appointment, I really like this place. The staff is lovely, the cleanings go quickly, and they have excellent goodie bags. I particularly like that the head dentist is named Dr. Ifill. First of all, she's a delightful human being. But with a name like that....she was clearly destined to be a dentist! I'm looking forward to taking my kid here as soon as he has some teeth to clean. read more

I am just getting home from my first visit to Dr. Ifill's office. From the scheduling, to reception, to the hygienist, to the consultation with the dentist herself, and finally through to billing, this was a 10/10 experience. Each new person with whom I interfaced was friendly, welcoming and reassuring (not always a given at the dentist). Images were taken and thoroughly explained, and suggestions were made, but certainly not pushed. I appreciate the diversity of the staff, the general warm feeling and the attention to the individual given here. I would heartily recommend this practice!!! read more

I would give them a million stars if I could. Now I have never liked the dentist which is the reason why I haven't been in 13yrs. My daughter found this location so I decided to try it. Just walking in the door I received such a wonderful greeting I knew I was in good hands. Now prior to my appointment I had to fill out my health history and history with dentist. So when I arrived they understood that I was scared and nervous and that I haven't been to the dentist in a while. When Oliva walked in she told me not to worry. She took her time checked on me to make sure I was okay through the entire process. Now my first visit was just a cleaning but since I haven't been in a while it was alot to do. I had two more appointments with her and every appointment I started off stressed I became relaxed just by the treatment I received from her and her assistant Chyna. I met Dr Ifill and she too understood how I felt about the dentist and the entire process. I had to have three teeth extracted while being awake which I've never done before. Everytime she took out a tooth she checked in making sure I was okay for her to continue. She too was amazing. I can't express how I'm feeling right now. I'm so happy I finally get to take care of the one thing I've been avoiding to do for a long time. I'm so happy my daughter found this place. The entire staff are amazing. I would highly recommend Garden Dental Arts! I would like to say Thank You! read more

Dr. Ifill is a dedicated and caring dentist who has provided me with excellent dental care.

I didn't think it was possible to look forward to seeing a dentist but Dr. Ifill has made me a believer! I recently had a procedure done by another dentist somewhere else who accepted my new health insurance. And after realizing I was still in a considerable amount of pain I went to Dr. Ifill for a second opinion. Sure enough the other dentist had botched the procedure; but Dr. Ifill quickly and surgically fixed the problem so now I'm healing and my pain is gone. I've been taking care of a lot of health stuff recently as the year ends, and I have to say a patient can get treatment in a lot of places. But if you're looking for "care" - genuine care and concern - then Dr. Ifill and her team at Garden Dental stand head and shoulders above other dentists and even healthcare facilities in general. She rocks! read more

Gentle, thorough, caring and super-competent. They take the fear out of tooth rehabilitation.

We have been patients of Garden Dental Arts for the past 8 years and our overall experience has been outstanding. Dr. Ifill and staff are professional, highly skilled, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Each phase of treatment is clearly explained so it is easy to understand. COVID protocols are in place allowing for a comfortable and safe environment in a clean office with relaxing background music. In our travels from Queens to Brooklyn we pass many dental practices along the way. However we choose Garden Dental Arts because we trust and are confident that they maintain a high level of care, quality and service. We highly recommend this practice! read more

Among the best dental experiences I've ever had. I went in for a long overdue visit and I took a leap of faith based on the other yelp reviews and it paid off! Everyone from reception to Dr. Ifill were great. They made the whole experience incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. Who thought that was possible with a dentist visit? They were all really nice and professional. They even sent me a letter on my birthday! Not an email, a physical letter. With my procedure, they explained every step along the way and helped me make completely informed decision. They worked out a simple payment process and were great about it the whole way through. That's where I'll going as long as I'm in NY. read more

Nice, knowledgeable people in a warm, welcoming environment. Not the usual clinical, UV-lit dentist experience. Glad they're close to home.

Dr. Sam, Delano, and all the staff at the office totally rock. I hate going to dentists, even when I used to use my own cousin's practice. Dr. Sam and her staff made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Stopped when I needed a break and made sure that I knew what was happening every step of the way. I recently had a procedure done that wasn't covered by Delta Dental and they worked with me to make sure I could still pay for it. If you want a dental practice that feels like family, this is it!!! read more

I've been coming here for almost two years since moving to brooklyn and the reviews are true. Dr Ifill and her team are friendly, professional and do their best to keep everyone on schedule. The hygienists take the time to speak to you and explain what they are doing and even offer up tips on healthy brushing, etc. And for some reason, every one there remembers the little things - what profession I'm in, how my last visit was, etc. Delano, the officer manager, is always friendly and does a great job dealing with my extremely difficult insurance company and always manages to find a convenient time for me to have an appointment. This place is very flexible; I had to get a root canal and rather than have a few appoints to get it fixed, they were awesome and booked me in for a 3 hr marathon session to set things right! If you are looking for a new dentist in the neighborhood, this is definitely the place! read more

Dr. Ifill is the best dentist I've ever had. I started going to Garden Dental Arts a decade ago and Dr. Ifill and all her staff, from hygienists to schedulers to billing people are friendly, gentle and professional. Over the years I've had regular cleanings, scaling, cavities filled and I was even fit for an appliance which has stopped my snoring and changed my life for the better. I've recommended Garden Dental Arts to dozens of friends and I'll continue to do so. Dr. Ifill and her staff also give back by volunteering each year to provide free dental services to people who cannot otherwise afford dental care. Garden Dental Arts has me as a happy patient for life. read more

I love Dr. Ifill and Garden Dental Arts! The service is always wonderful. The hygienists I've seen have always been gentle and friendly, and Dr. Ifill is honest and straightforward, and monitors the sketchy spots in my teeth before doing anything drastic. Last time I was there I bought a Sonicare toothbrush and I love it too. I highly recommend GDA! read more

Finding any dental or medical professional is a daunting and stressful task that most prefer to put off, I know I do! It had been some time since I had a cleaning and I didn't really know were to go in the area as I recently moved from Florida. I decided to check out this place because it was close, covered by my insurance and had good yelp reviews so I figured why not? Definitely one of my better decisions. Dr.Ifil and her staff is amazing. I especially love my dental hygienist, Yvonne Bernard, she's so fun and wonderful to be around. You'll definitely have relationship with your dentist even if they only see you every 6 months. I didn't think it was possible to like going to the dentist but they pull it off. I highly recommend them, they are professional, timely and fun bunch of people to be around. If you're iffy about picking a dentist, give this place a try. read more

I can't say enough about this place. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by warm and friendly people. I was worried because I haven't been to the dentist in a while, but every single person in the office made me feel comfortable. My appointment started right on time. My dental hygienist was effective, efficient, and friendly. As she took x-rays she explained the process, which eased my anxieties.
