I chose Schweitzer & Schweitzer based on the reviews I had read and I am not out to slander them. This review is not about the quality of the work I received. It is about being gravely overcharged for a 15 minute office visit. This is my story, the positive and the negative: In 2022, Dr. Sheth did a renovation for me over a period of several months. It was expensive (costing about twice as much as the other estimate I had received), but I was very satisfied with the esthetics of the final result. Schweitzer and Schweitzer has their own lab technician and he is a veritable artist, so I felt that I got what I paid for. Fast forward to June of 2024: I noticed that the porcelain was coming off on the inside portion of a porcelain-fused-to-metal implant which is right next to the renovation that Dr. Sheth had completed for me two years before. I was worried that it would keep coming off around the front until I had nothing but a black tooth showing there. I also had a big event to go to in Europe that was six weeks away, so I made an appoint with Dr. Sheth to ask for help. That appointment lasted 15 minutes. Dr. Sheth held a mirror to the affected area and tugged on the bridge he had installed to make sure it wasn't loose. That was all he did. He didn't check to see how tight the space was between the that implant and the newer bridge. He didn't check my bite to see if was unbalanced. He didn't seem to wonder what had caused the porcelain to chip away or suggest any possible reasons why it was happening. He told me that a resin wouldn't stick (despite several published articles claiming that they can) and that redoing that segment of my mouth was ill advised because it could have a destabilizing effect. Lastly, he told me not to eat ice (I don't eat ice). Then, I was charged $150 for that 15-minute consultation, literally $10 per minute, and I was a returning patient to boot. The next day, I called and politely requested a partial refund for that visit but was told that I had already received a discount. That is to say that Dr. Sheth would normally charge more for doing so little. So beware future patients! You won't necessarily get what you pay for. read more

There is a personalized touch to the practice and you will not feel like just another patient to be rushed in and out. I was referred to Dr. Sheth for a replcaement inlay. Dr. Sheth was a consummate professional. He worked quickly, took a very conservative approach, which saved the tooth and some money. Dr. Sheth ensured I was comfortable and satisfied with the plan as we went along. I have a crippling fear of dentists and he put me at ease instantly. The staff was wonderful and friendly and attentinve as well. The prices aren't for the faint hearted but you get the highest quality care and lab product for the price. The have a lab on site which is huge as a slight adjustment needed to be made to my inlay and they were able to bake more porcelain on to the inlay on site, saving me a third trip to get the work completed. I highly recommend Dr. Sheth to anyone looking for high quality care and excellent results. read more

I've been using Schweitzer & Schweitzer for more than 20 years. Their family's been in the dental business for three generations, and I've worked happily with two of them. Of all the dental practices I've gone to-which is quite a few--S&S is my favorite. Dan, my dentist, never suggests work that isn't necessary. When I have a problem, it's always resolved quickly. Dan is careful, thorough, conservative and nice. So is my hygienist. Actually, everyone is really pleasant. And I trust everyone. In addition, the office is conveniently located, near lots of subways. That always helps. All things considered, S&S is a find. read more

Schweitzer & Poole is a family owned dental office that I believe consists of three generations of Schweitzer's with the eldest now retired. I started off here since my parents went, then my brother, and now me. Though costly if you're paying out of pocket, my elderly parents who have been through enough dentists, know these are the ones they absolutely trust, and are thrilled. I have to agree. All the doctors and nurses/assistants in this office are professional, patient (very important especially when dealing with dentists who are about to drill into your mouth as you sit there nervously), and kind. I have not found any of the doctors to be stuck up - they consult with other doctors if needed, speak kindly to each other, and thus, are kind with you. This is the worst dentist I have ever gone too. All they care about is money and they charge for procedures that are never conducted. They also dont notify you as to what procedures will be done. Specifically Ann the dental hygienist is the one that charges and conducts procedures that aren't even done. Any other dentist would be better. I know it is hard to love a dentist but I really do love this practice. When I started going there, I went to Dr. Bob. He retired, so now I go to Dr. Dan, and sometimes, Dr. Ken takes care of me. Everybody in the office is kind and helpful and professional. I am always taken on time. Their prices are top-tier but so is the work, and if you need to pay in installments, they're willing to work something out with you. I could pay a lot less if I went to a DMO via my dental insurance, but I wouldn't switch for the world. I give Schweitzer & Schweitzer 5 stars (now, can somebody please invent a painless Novocaine needle?). read more
