Working in the healthcare field, I've had the opportunity to work with many treatment programs--and…read moreI can confidently say that Wings Recovery Center stands out as an exceptional place of healing and transformation. I referred a client to this center who was navigating significant challenges related to addiction and trauma. From the moment she was admitted, she was impressed by the professionalism, warmth, and trauma-informed care provided by the staff. The clinical team demonstrated deep compassion offering individualized treatment plans, evidence-based practices, and a safe, supportive environment for women to heal. What struck me most was their holistic approach--addressing not only substance use, but also the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of the women they serve. My client came back with a renewed sense of self, stronger coping tools, and a deep commitment to her recovery journey. No one wants to have to go to a treatment facility but to get your addiction issues addressed with a holistic approach makes it more empowering.

Really feel bad I have to rate it this low. And 2 is a stretch…read more When it was good, it was great. Competent, caring staff, well maintained facilities. When it wasn't, it was unprofessional to the point of being unethical. I didn't see my trauma therapist for the first 6 days I was there, and then at one point I went 11 days between trauma therapy sessions. I should have received 10-12 EMDR sessions and got a total of 5. And never received the final one. It was clear during those weeks that admitting new clients was their priority, to the detriment of existing clients. Even the staff were muttering quietly they were overworked and stressed with admissions and couldn't take care of their existing ones. Some staff did attempt to compensate but it wasn't enough. Sadly, this was not the only place I've seen this happen. Staffing and communication at even nationally-known places can be problematic and complaining can get one stereotyped to one's disadvantage. Smaller places like Wings suffer more. Would I go back? Would I refer clients (I work in the field)? Maybe. My peers were wonderful, the location is great, the staff caring. I would just warn people to not suffer silently when they don't get what they are promised when they are promised it.

This is not a safe, healthy, place of healing. Drama flows freely and is allowed to snowball because of management's lack of willingness to address problematic residents who have a history and pattern of creating an uninhabitable environment. Do not go here. Do not let your kid go here. Use your money elsewhere. There are several great sober livings like South House, Psychic Change, Casa Pacifica, Ohana House and more to choose from in the same area. These are places that care about your wellbeing and promote a healthy, safe environment amenable to laying a foundation in sobriety. Sober Living Today and Ellie absolutely should be avoided. Horrible. All they care about is money not people. Beware. I write this purely to save the next person.

As her friend, I've visited the homes she rents to women in recovery. Ellie has invited me to attend events like rooftop yoga, breathwork classes and healthy cooking classes (which she pays for and offers to her residents free of charge). The accommodations are beautiful, clean, and decorated with taste and care (many are quite upscale and blocks from the beach!). Helping women struggling with alcoholism and addiction is not an easy business to be in. But Ellie manages it well. I would without a doubt recommend Ellie and Sober Living Today to any woman in need of a stable place to continue their recovery. They have a strong reputation in the community for a reason.

Scheduling was easy, communication was clear, and every interaction made me feel welcomed and supported. It's rare to find front office staff who are both efficient and compassionate, but they truly set the tone here. Dr. Hirst is exceptional. Thoughtful, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, she creates a space where you feel heard without judgment. Appointments never feel rushed, and I always leave feeling understood and equipped with real tools and direction. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients' well-being and long-term progress. If you're looking for a mental health clinic that combines professionalism with real human warmth, this is it. So grateful to have found Bold Health.

I've been going here for a couple years now, and I've wanted to write a review, but have been…read morereticent for several reasons. The main being that I wanted to leave a decently high rating, but have been unable to due to the unexplained disruption in my care by the high rate of provider turnover, and thus couldn't. More specifically, my experience here has been that I went through several individual therapists, and while I made progress with each, none were really exceptional. Combine that with the what felt like constant provider changes, the overall experience was very lacking, and I didn't feel particularly important due to this. This was especially true in my couples therapy sessions, where I never really felt listened to. Despite my better judgment, I continued to go to these sessions, but I felt like nothing ever changed for me. I recommend that if you find yourself with a therapist you don't "click" with, you should "shop around". Which is what I'm doing now. I do also have experience in their IOP program. I'm afraid to say that I can't really recommend their IOP, and if you do check it out, I highly suggest "shopping around" the same way you would for an individual therapist. Also, quite unfortunately, I didn't feel very accepted there, but instead felt very judged at times, which when happened, it was very difficult to fully share and be vulnerable. Which may be related to one of their main catch phrases, where you're supposed to "get curious" about why you feel a certain way, felt like it was used very little with me. While there are a lot of negatives, it can be very difficult to find providers that take your insurance. Which they did take mine, so that was nice.

I probably am THAT patient that some doctors get irritated with, because I went in with a list of items that we needed to chat about or get referrals for. And as we talked, he made a mental note of each one. He fully addressed each and every thing I wanted to discuss and then moved onto the next. For me, this appointment crossed a TON off my to-do list as it was so productive. I think we can all agree that we've walked out of a doctor's office and said "oh shoot, he didn't tell me about ____". With Dr. Whitney, you'll never have to worry about that. After the fact, Dr. Whitney personally followed up with me, and advised me he'd submitted my referrals and I should be hearing back soon. I've never had such personable attention from any Doctor's office let alone one Doctor specifically!
