There's plenty of parking and an additional parking structure. They also have a very nice Urgent Care unit with a very nice triage team. I have been with Scripps for a very long time…read more I have a lot of health issues and I normally go in person to make appts. My husband told me I got a letter in the mail stating that I was writing messages in my portal to my Drs. I thought the portal was used as a extra tool for Scripps when you do not go to appointments for your health and concerns. They threatened me that they would kick me out of Jefferson if i wrote anymore messages. Don't I have any patient's right for my healthcare to use the portal for questions and concerns when appointments are over two to three months in the future? I felt threatened and abandoned especially that I was recently discharged from the ER and needed some answers from lab work which I feel was not given by the ER Dr. On top of that I got a letter in my portal about missing and no show appts which I go all the time because I have other people drive me there so why is there such a mess when I feel I am threatened? Does anyone else have this experience with Scripps at this time with communication on portal, mail and no one replying to their messages on portal? Has anyne else been threatened to be kicked out even if they go to all drs appts on time and ask qs about their health???? Isn't that what Drs and nps are there for to help you and take care of your concerns in a professional manner???!

I only saw the OT Amy and she was the best! A kind, compassionate therapist who helped more than any doctor I have seen for this injury. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Whaaat? I haven't left a review for SOAP MAT yet? I swear I did. (Edit: I guess I did have a…read morereview. Not sure why Yelp said I didn't, but here's an updated one, I guess) So, I've been to four different clinics in my time on methadone. SOAP remains the only one I'd truly recommend. I mean, the other ones are better than active illicit use or in-patient rehab (because most of those are NOT evidence-based), but SOAP actually cares about you. From the director to the nurses to the counselors and even the front desk folks (Hi, Bill!), you really feel that SOAP knows you and cares about you. I even left a clinic that took my insurance to go back to SOAP because SOAP is so much better than that other clinic (that rhymes with Shlapalina). SOAP is *very* evidence-based and doesn't do anything just because. I was never pushed to go to AA/NA. I expressed that it didn't work for me (I'm an atheist) and they accepted that without issue. They didn't pressure me into going to unnecessary groups. My counselor helped me work through problems when I had them and I felt like I could be honest with him - a feeling I rarely get when dealing with medical professionals. They were quick to shut down drama between patients and I always felt safe going there. I could go on for days, really, but to sum it up: we'd have a much better outlook on our current overdose crisis if there were more clinics like SOAP accessible to folks struggling with substance use disorders around the country. I really hope SOAP is able to expand to more clinics in the coming years because their services and helpful attitude without stigma is so needed right now.

My OB's office recommended I go to the ER for IV fluids and an ultrasound because I was also having ongoing light spotting and abdominal cramping that wouldn't let up. Dr. Besser made us feel like we were overreacting for even being there. He said people get sick like this all the time and seemed dismissive of how sick I actually was. When I asked about the ultrasound my OB had recommended (due to the spotting and cramping), he told us it was rare to do an ultrasound in the ER and made us feel crazy for requesting one. His bedside manner was poor, I did not feel heard or taken seriously at a time when I was very sick, dehydrated, and just needed fluids, medication, and some peace of mind about the pregnancy. When I finally got a bed for fluids and was eventually given an ultrasound, nobody went over the results with me. Dr. Besser never came back to see me again. I will add my nurses were amazing and I was highly satisfied with them along with the other staff. I love Scripps La Jolla and my OB team. Just highly disappointed with this Er dr and how he responded to us.
