They sell tuna, fatty tuna, scallop, uni, etc as well in the fridge but they do have sets rolls if you are into as well. They sell japanese snacks and frozen goods as well. Parking was free, take out only, no restroom. Ambiance was jsut a nice causal market vibes.

The store is a pretty decent size where you are able to find your favourite Japanese pantry items, frozen foods, and prepared sashimi. There is also a menu you can order from where your sushi is made fresh. The store is clean and can get busy at times as they have fresh sushi. The store is well-lit and organized. During my time there I bought some Japanese pasta sauce as well as an already premade chirashi bowl. Although it was busy, the cashiers and staff were efficient. I saw that there were also people picking up sushi platters, likely something they preordered before. Overall, a great Japanese store selling a variety of items as well as fresh sushi!

The restaurant was quite packed…read morewhen we arrived, and within two minutes of walking in, we were reminded twice that groups of 5+ are subject to an 18% service charge. Despite this, we were seated at a table for four without enough chairs, and had to ask for an extra one. The food took a long time to arrive, and service throughout the meal was minimal at best. With oversized plates and a table too small for our group, we spent the whole meal squeezed together. No one came to clear plates until we stacked them ourselves just to make room. Food quality was hit or miss: - Uni crab creamy udon: Small portion. The udon itself was fine, but the uni was the least fresh I've ever had -- disappointing ingredient quality. - Shabu shabu soupy udon: The beef was plain and underwhelming. The ingredients didn't compare to what other Japanese restaurants offer for shabu shabu. - Chicken katsu don: Solid -- met expectations for the dish. - Kakuni don: The pork belly was too greasy for my taste; didn't enjoy this one. - Matcha almond tofu pudding: Perfectly balanced sweetness -- a genuinely good dessert. Overall, between the poor service, cramped dining experience, and mediocre food quality, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to friends or return myself.

I would consider coming back for fish I intend to prepare in a different way. But the person working here tried to upsell me, saying that each meal requires about 0.5 lbs fish. This might be true of cooked fish, but it likely isn't for sushi. I took my one pound of fish home and used a very small amount of it to make very meaty maki that comprised the entirety of my evening meal. (The fish was fresh, though, and reasonably flavourful.) One bigger issue: a significant portion (like a third) of the small piece of tuna I bought contained silverskin, which made the piece inedible. Totally not acceptable, when you consider the price of the tuna was over $30 per pound. This is a okay place to go if you live nearby and want sushi-grade fish. There aren't many places in the city that offer it. Next time, though, I'm gonna try Taro's. The selection there looks pretty amazing.

I'm so with Liz B. on this one - I will never buy seafood anywhere else. The store is a pretty decent size, very, very clean and does NOT smell like fish. The servers are so polite and helpful and I noticed all the patrons were civilized; there was no pushing, shoving or yelling; everyone just politely waited their turn. They have another store in St. Lawrence Market which we've been to on numerous occasions but, being from Etobicoke and all the closures on the Gardiner, this is far more convenient. It's on Vansco, a side street that runs off North Queen but, for those of you who aren't too familiar with the area, you can catch it off the Queensway (very close to IKEA). I could see this being convenient for those of you in east Mississauga. You won't have trouble with parking as they have a private lot. I paid with debit but I'm sure they accept most major credit cards. They have frozen shrimp, scallops, lobster tails, etc. in all sizes. I also recall seeing cans of crabmeat and smoked salmon as well. As for the fresh fish, there was sea bass, grouper, catfish, swordfish, sole, tuna, etc. - lots to choose from. The tuna looked like it was sushi grade. They also had an array of fresh shell fish as well such as oysters, mussels, huge scallops and shrimp. For the pre-made food, some of the selections were stuffed sole, some awesome looking crab-stuffed calamari and I saw a stuffed salmon (very similar looking to what Costco sells). They also have specialty groceries on a separate side but I was on my lunch break so I didn't have too much time on my hands to browse. Anyway, I bought six calamari tubes with a whole bunch of tentacles for $10.25 and six large, fresh shrimp for $3.95 - great deal!

It's for takeout only, thus you should go to their other locations if you'd prefer dine-in experience. I'm a regular and I typically get their customized chirashi (i.e. sashimi slices on a bowl of rice). I usually choose 3 kinds of sashimi on 2 bowls of rice. The price depends on the sashimi chosen and it's usually about $25-50/bowl - see a few samples below. The sashimi is of excellent quality at a competitive price. In addition to the typical ones (e.g. salmon, tuna, octopus, etc.), they also offer some seasonal choices too (e.g. sardine, firefly squid, etc.) Their service is amazing - friendly staff who are happy to help with my sashimi choices, and they always have a big smile too! I'd definitely visit again from time to time!
