The guys are also very knowledgeable so if you describe what you're looking for they can give you a recommendation. You can be as vague as "I want something tasty." or "I'm holding a dinner party and looking for a good variety." The best is when they surprise you with a recommendation to go with the cheese that you never would have thought of. Over the years, I've been introduced to some great olive oil, honey, crackers, etc. to go with their cheese recommendations. When they're busy (saturdays at the market), their service is friendly but quick and efficient. If you go when they're less busy on a week day, they have more time to give you superior service and chat. Either way though - the cheese and food will be good!

What I like about em is that they offer good customer service compared to their Alex Farms counterparts. For one you don't feel rushed as much. The guys here are always friendly, handing out samples and offering tips on what to pair cheese with. Believe me, I got an earful from one fella when I bought some buffalo mozzarella once, he gave me some tips on a caprese salad. How cute! It's also very helpful that the display cases have descriptions of the various cheeses with notes on the region, taste and pairings. Makes selecting a cheese more fun.

Since I was there, I figured I'd check out some of the cheeses. Len was kind enough to let me try several different types of cheese even though I told him I was just looking for a little something in particular that day. I ended up selecting a really yummy Ubriaco Rosso Trevigiani that Len had suggested. originally the piece he cut me was much too large, and cost over $20, which was much too much for just my boyfriend and I. So he graciously offered to cut it in half, which was perfect. I also found out that they carry Fontina cheese, which I've had a very hard time finding up until now. Len even gave me a little business card that has a place on the back to stick the label of cheese so you remember what it was and can write tasting notes. What a brilliant marketing idea! The experience here was quite contrary to last few places I've purchased cheese from. I'm pleased to say that Chris' Cheese will be my go-to cheese shop in the market from now on. The dog was still in the car 20 minutes later. I asked a young lady manager to assist me and announce for the owner to please go back to her car and retrieve the dog. Well she took her time and she talked with a grin about my request to other workers. Then she laughed saying some lady wants me to announce the owner of the dog to please go to their car. Like a joke still no action taken and grinning in front of employee's and customers like I had lost my mind. Well I called the police they said contact them animal services. Which I did it is illegal. Just at that time now about a half hour dog left alone got angry with me calling me names etc. it's illegal no matter air on in your car which I found out yes I'm right. Their home made meals are seasoned just right especially for someone like me who prefers food to be tasty and healthy. I've had their chicken club sandwich, curry, and coffee. The chicken club had generous portions of chicken breast and fresh chopped vegetables in a nice light sauce - topped with a couple strips of bacon. The curry they serve is a golden Japanese curry that has chunks of potato, carrots, caramelized onions, and chicken. My dish even made people in line order it because it smelt so good! Their coffee is well roasted with the oils and aromas filling the store and deli. I only drink black coffee when it meets my standards and the only way I enjoy Olivia's coffee is black. The store/deli is dog friendly and often the owners will greet and pet the dogs. They are great with faces and recognize all the regulars and residents of the neighbouring apartments. Stock in the store is plentiful as they keep a good inventory with various brands for selection. I'll be back for their food but also for the outstanding service.
