The casino Montego Bay here in West Wendover does have a buffet open I think Friday through Sunday with dinner only on Friday and Saturday. I took my crew here on Saturday for the dinner that runs from 4pm till 10:30 pm. We got here a little after opening, cause that's when the food is the best at any buffet. The cost is about $45 per person including tax, then add some tip to that. We worked pretty hard this week so they deserve a nice dinner. Inside is actually pretty nice, like any bigger casino buffet. Service was very nice and friendly and drinks were brought out quick. There were plenty of people here, so I'm thinkin that it must be good. We all know how to do buffets, so my crew just went right up and got whatever they wanted. I usually go for the meats first and the seafood if it looks good. There was prime rib for the meats and crab for the seafood as the main attractions. We all got our fill and I'd say the food quality was very good, maybe not Vegas level, but you gotta look where we are. I think these casinos server the cross border Utah market. read more

We were in Wendover just for an overnight and came over to have dinner. We stayed over at the Best Western, which is an excellent option if you do not want to stay in a casino hotel. The Oceano buffet is pricey, but all of them are here. Overall, there were so many options at the buffet that it could make your head spin. I loved that they had seafood available that was done well, there was a good mix of healthy and non-healthy options, so you don't have to go crazy if you don't want to. A couple of sections repeat for which side of the restaurant you are on. Our server was very friendly and responsive. Ugh! Don't waste your time and moreover your money! We ate dinner there last night. The peel and eat shrimp isn't devained, the prime rib was dry and tough. Breakfast is especially bad. How do you screw up Breakfast? The ham was so dry you couldn't eat it. I've never had bad eggs until this morning. They cater to their large Hispanic crowd which normally I would be excited about. Best buffet in Wendover, hands down. Their breakfast and dinner options are equally abundant and the food is very well made. Prime rib, roast beef, ham. Chinese food section. Excellent salad bar. It puts the other casino buffet offerings to shame. Excellent dessert bar and you can get almost any sort of dessert item that you can think of. The wait to get in can be onerous and they should come up with a system to get people in quicker. (May I suggest dual lines like other buffets employ in Mesquite and Vegas, etc?) Just a thought as this is one of the main complaints people make about this place. The line moves through fairly quickly and, even though we had a large group of almost 10 people, they still tried to sit us together, with no reservation, on a busy a**, Friday, seafood buffet nite! That was most kind of them. The waters were constantly filled, plates cleaned off, in a timely fashion and the food selection was good. Don't expect Las Vegas proportions, it IS Wendover, after all. Lol Some of the cooks and dessert people seemed annoyed, for helping us/answering questions, but they do get the the food out, in a warm and consistent basis though. Hello! I shall hereby now review the travesty known as "Oceano" Buffet! In order to get a true and accurate fair opinion of this restaurant, I had to taste EVERYTHING from the buffet line. Which meant taking an entire helping, taking a nibble, and discarding the rest. (Wasteful, I know) We came to Montego Bay Casino on the reputation of being high end, top notch, 5 star Michelin quality food. As it wasn't, though Wendover is known for luxury. Every dish lacked flavor, the beef was pork. The chicken was tofu, and the deep fried offerings were soft boiled eggs. The hole in the wall contained small white rabbit( or so it seemed) which led to a promising looking tunnel of more delectable looking offerings. But alas! To our great dissatisfaction, they were blander than the rest! We hung our heads in shame, leaving unfulfilled, never to return again! read more

The host was busy checking people out. The manager was overwhelmed too. At least the air conitoner works better then other casinos around here. I tried their weekday lunch buffet (~$15) and I was rather impressed, certainly compared to other similarly priced buffets in SLC. The lunch buffet included a variety of salads, Chinese dishes, Mexican dishes, pizza, a variety of potato dishes, and my favorite, prime rib. The prime rib is certainly what made this a 4 star review, especially since they had two varieties of horseradish. They also have an extensive salad and dessert bar. The prepared salads are hit and miss, the Greek was fantastic and Turkey-Artichoke was revolting and the rest in between. I also particularly liked their Chinese dishes, there was a noodle dish and a spicy beef dish that were fairly good. The only seafood item at the lunch buffet was chilled peeled shrimp served with lemon and cocktail sauce. Good shrimp but nothing fancy. Service was fantastic. My group of six always had beverage refills and dirty plates cleared as soon as they were empty. (Don't forget to tip your server!) We usually eat here before concerts at the Peppermill. Friday nights they have $29.95 seafood which I don't eat, but the hubby loved it. We used their 55+ senior discount of $2. So we have that going for us. Ha. We had to wait awhile in line. All the cigarette smoke didn't do much to help appetites. They have a good variety of meats and desserts. But their salad lettuce was pathetic--pale green and yellow; no spinach. Jesus did an okay job clearing our dirty plates and keeping our drinks filled. The selection was very impressive, especially when compared to the other local buffet options, and makes sense why so many people wait in line. Actually Threatened! Visited this poor excuse the day after Thanksgiving 2019. My party and I arrive shortly after 2 pm. We paid for our "all you can eat meal" and were told to seat ourselves. When attempting to make a second visit to the buffet bar we found there was no food at all. We were informed that they closed to get ready for the next meal. The supervisor then told us if we wanted to stay we would have to pay more or she would call security and have us physically removed from the premises. We asked to speak with her boss and she denied us. We had to call the resorts 800 number to track down her boss. We never got to finish our meal. I would recommend waiting until they remove this individual from a supervisory position before visiting. After all they never informed us that they were closing but went ahead and took our money under fraudulent conditions. read more

Three stars seems like a fair rating. The buffet was clean and the staff was attentive. The food was alright. We ate early so it was mostly fresh. Especially considering that I ate there on a slower weeknight less than an hour before closing, and they still had pretty much the full selection of reasonably fresh stuff out. So I'm in a weird place rating this because I give it 5 stars for a bus freebie dinner, but if I paid $30 I would only want to give it 3 stars. So I'm settling on 4. With a name like Oceano and the sheer volume of patronage that flows through the doors, I would think most would believe this to be a restaurant that knows how to prepare seafood well. Not so much. Just when I thought I couldn't be more disappointed, throngs of flipflop wearing ravaged bus travelers invaded the room, sucking the cool air and the ability to hear conversation at my table out of the room. Suddenly the disappointing self-serve buffet hot tables of food were almost emptied, making one feel reluctantly competitive to get the last emaciated, water soaked empty halfshell of crab leg or tiny, limp, flavorless shelled shrimp. I went to the Seafood Extravaganza Friday night for $30. Was it worth it? First, I really appreciate the choices if their seafood. The mussel and the calm cooked in butter and white wine broth are good. Although, it would be nicer if they are not completely submerged to the hot broth since they just shrivel up. The crab legs was hot and already split in half for easy eating, but these appeared to be some of the malnourished crabs because they are so thin. I skipped the other choices since they are the typical buffet offerings. I did get their prime rib which was bland. However, even with the quantities of the seafood and meat, make sure to leave room for dessert. They are many choices too! Service wise, it was a busy evening, but it is inexcusable if nobody comes to you for about 10 min and ask what drink you want. I did not get my food since I do not have a drink!! What if I choke while I stuffing all these crab legs down my throat? I think this buffet should be priced cheaper. I can't believe I waited an hour for this buffet. The food was not all that great meats over cooked food lacking flavor. Some of the meats were cold some. Roast beef is hard to mess up but this was terrible. The sirloin steaks fresh cooked were tough. The tuna steak I tried was raw in the center. With exception of the Chinese egg rolls the stir fry beef and shrimp dishes the door was sub par and over priced. I could eat a better quality buffet in Utah and pay less. Note next I'll eat at the rainbow steakhouse be about the same money and I won't be unhappy. Or I'll eat in slc before heading in. Man it's been awhile since I've had a Wendover buffet but they went way downhill. even the soda pop tasted off. Both salmon dishes were very bland Cajun salmon should have some taste haha. And all the food they didn't cook Was good such as the lettuce. Melons etc. but price to value was terrible and for that price I want door prepared with care. This place is always packed. The service is always great and the chefs make an awesome presentation of food. The self serve utensils and ware are always clean and stocked. Traveling across Nevada is pretty desolate, so we were pleased to find the Montego Bay's Buffet. Food was all fresh and very tasty. The salad greens were boring but otherwise the salad bar portion of the buffet included many topping choices and fresh fruits. The food we chose was all fresh and well prepared. It appeared one could even have a steak cooked to order though neither of us wanted that much food. As it turned out, a woman in line in front of us had a free meal comp card she couldn't use and shared it with us, so including tip, we ate for $19. Good food and a good deal. While it didn't matter because we were in a large booth with room for used plates, our waitress was quite slow removing dirty dinnerware. read more
