Now that's a VACATION! We loved our week at Oceanique Resort. Great location out of the traffic but close to points of interest and great restaurants. Loved the condo: comfortable, clean and great views of the ocean. What we really loved was the pool and hot tub, even on cool, cloudy days in January, they were a wonderful way to relax and forget about work. We hope to get back there soon! read more

The Oceanique continues to live on on A1A, nestled beachfront to Indian Harbour Beach. You can't miss the place with two main buildings featuring a rust, dark orange color, amidst a sea of white / cream colored buildings. The Oceanique is a vacation rental locale. The majority of guests are there through time share and/or week long vacation rental. The great thing about that is: you can stay at the Oceanique and be amongst guests who have a great fondness for the place, respect the establishment, and have been coming to the Oceanique - in some cases - for decades! The property sits right along a nice stretch of beach, not too far but comfortably far enough way from the public beach. The property and its pool is safe and protected. The Oceanique's pool is a respectable size with a deep end about 6'5" so younger kids can safely cannonball in. There is also a large clubhouse with staff on hand from the traditional 9-5. And I will say, one of the things I love about this property is that it is quiet but right next to a LOT of things to do - Walmart for vacation needs, downtown Melbourne, 13 miles from Cocoa Beach, liquor stores, ice cream shops, etc. LAST - and maybe most IMPORTANT- the Oceanique seems to be one the last and most affordable places. The down side of the Oceanique is that it is an aging property. I stay at a lot of time share / vacation rental spots and this property is by FAR one of the most dated! The TV's in the room are incredibly small, the Wi Fi is NOT great AT ALL, the property has NO events, programs for kids, the furniture, appliances, cabinets are all dated. And the beds in the guest rooms are not beds.... there "souped up" COTS! I can go on and on about the reality needing a million dollars into updating it.... BUT! It's a great place. It's conveniently located, it's small, all amenities are there though dated, the views of the ocean are killer, and since it is an older property the rooms are still very LARGE! So though I can easily give this property a 3 star, I will give it 4. read more

Great little beachside resort. Nice, big, clean suites with an ocean view. Friendly staff and only 24 suites. There's a potluck each week and other events where you can get to know your neighbors... or, you can always just go off on your own. The only real downside is the road noise from SR A1A. read more

I was a little apprehensive before going here but I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is a bit outdated but definitely not as outdated as I was expecting. Per D L.'s review, if you're used to staying at higher end resorts, this may not be your cup of tea but I would say it's not as terrible as I was expecting. I ended up staying here because I had an unused week of my timeshare so I exchanged it for someplace "closer" to home thru Interval International. The unit itself was very clean, which of course is always my main concern. Unlike other places I have stayed though, they do not give you any soap, shampoo, coffee, tea, water bottles, etc. That's not a huge issue for me because I generally don't even use those products. There are plenty of stores nearby though to get whatever you need. My unit faced the beach with a quick walk to it. Every morning I was greeted with a beautiful sunrise. The beach area is nice because of the location the beach is quieter than other areas. I went during the long Memorial Weekend and surrounding beaches were PACKED, however ours was not :) It also happened to be turtle season so that means as soon as the sun sets you have to close all your blinds and windows because you can't have any light that might confuse the turtles. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area as well, not too many chain places which I really enjoyed. I generally like to do a bit of shopping when I'm out but I didn't do much on this trip because 1) I was too much being on the beach and 2.) I didn't see anywhere interesting to shop. Opposed to other places I have stayed at in the area, the resort is right on A1A which causes a bit more street noise. It didn't bother me at all and I didn't even notice it until someone in my party pointed it out. But either way it wasn't unbearable by any means. Overall, I definitely enjoyed my stay here. I am sorry to have to tell you my story. I have been to Oceanique many, many times, and up until a while ago I always thought it was wonderful. It's right on the A1A like the song says (Beachfront Avenue... ring any bells?) and so close to the water, you can hear the waves when you go to sleep. And who doesn't like the luxury of a pool right by the beach, right? Regrettably, I found out that my recently widowed 80 year old aunt and her husband tried for literally -- not figuratively -- decades to get away from the burden of a timeshare at Oceanique. She has lost her husband, her home, her vehicles and half her body weight. Yet Oceanique continues to bill her for various fees and assessments. For the dubious privilege of one week per year, she is charged for maintenance and other fees that, as you can see from other Yelpers, are clearly not being used to update the facility. If you are considering a timeshare with Oceanique, it would be wise to run the other direction. It would be more fiscally sound to book yourself a week at the most expensive hotel you can find on the Florida coast. I like waking up to the sound of the ocean, too, but Oceanique has been a curse on my family for decades. read more

Good stuff: beach was immaculate, and basically empty. At one point I was on the beach and could see no one, not a soul, to the north, and to the south I could barely see one person. Most of the time it was like this. The resort provided little beach umbrellas which was nice, though it would have been nicer if they had more of them and they were of better quality. Pool was nice. It was also good that the supermarket was less than a mile away. Also, the front office staff were nice people. Not so good: interior of the unit was not only terribly dated but not in great shape. Peeling wallpaper, ancient carpets, a broken CD jukebox, mold stains on the ceiling in the toilet, vents filled with debris and lint. Also, all the kitchen utensils were not only incredibly cheap plastic and the most basic throw-away cutlery / knives, they were all in terrible condition. Dishwasher was rusting away inside. We're a family with three small kids - a functional kitchen was a must. It didn't occur to us that we needed to bring things like paper towels or knives that cut. We'll go back to this area, but not this time share, I don't think. If it were updated, then yes we'd go back, but it would need to be a major upgrade. My family recently visited the Indian Harbor Beach area. We stayed at Oceanique Resort for 3 days and 2 nights although we all wished it would have been for longer. We have 4 boys ages 9-15. The resort was so nice!! The staff is super friendly and helpful. There are only a few of them that work there and it is very evident that they take their job seriously because they do an amazing job. The front desk gal (so sorry I can't remember her name) was so sweet, welcoming and informative. We got there before check in and our room was ready. We were so thankful we could check in early. My kids couldn't wait to get to the beach. The resort doesn't have a lot of rooms, so it was very quiet and had more of an intimate feeling. We loved that! It was very laid back and relaxed. We got to know other people staying there because it felt very homey and not crowded. The pool area was very nice and they have their own beach access. It was never crowded with other people - only the resort guests were there. The room decor / furniture was a little outdated but we didn't care. The rooms were very clean and in good shape. I clean houses part time for a job and I have no complaints about the room - very well kept and maintained. The rooms are also very spacious! The clubhouse area had a pool table and foosball table, board games, movies, outdoor grilling area, etc. The beach area had boogie boards, shovels, buckets, chairs, nets, etc. They thought of everything to make our stay more enjoyable. We will definitely come back to Oceanique. We made wonderful memories here. Thank you to the staff for making our families vacation wonderful! This is a small resort with only 24 - two bedroom units although the common facilities were designed for 84 units. The pool area is never crowded and the water is warm. Interior furnishings were recently replaced. Because the development is small, there are few amenities but that's OK because anything else you would want is within a 10 minute walk, including several restaurants and a variety of shopping venues. It's right on the beach. All units have 1300 square feet of floor space. There is little traffic on the roads in the area. This is the seventh year I've vacationed here and I will be back next year. It's usually best to book Saturday to Saturday because this is a timeshare resort although the do also rent by the night now. read more
