Very sweet man replaced my water resistant watch battery in about 5 minutes. I tried to take it to another repair shop on El Camino where the man insisted if the battery was replaced, it would then leak. I have showered with my watch on for a full week after taking it to Ocean Time, and it is perfect. Only $10 too! read more

Awesome and honest! I went yesterday because my Tag Carrera Automatic wasn't working, I was advised to send the clock back to Tag for repair and that would be huge money. I gave the clock to the guy to find that my clock was perfect. He was very knowledgeable about the clock and gave me the advise how to take care. My point is, if I would send the watch to Tag the bill would be around 600 or more, probably same with any other dishonest place. I will highly recommend this place and I am going back to take my wife's watches. read more

Had them replace the battery for my Heart Rate Monitor and they totally messed it up - first they switched it to Chinese or some other language and had trouble getting it back to English. My 1st run didn't record everything it used to so spent 30 minutes on the phone with the manufacture to fix it. I will not return here! read more

Last week, I brought my Bulova watch to Valdivia Jewelers in Oceanside to have my battery replaced. The guy there quoted me a price of $12.00. I told him that I had a coupon in my car for $8.00 and he told me that he would accept that. Three days later, my watch was no longer working -- the 2nd hand appeared to be stuck in the "9 o'clock area" and was wavering. Yesterday, when I returned the watch, I requested that he replace the battery a 2nd time. He checked the watch and told me that it wasn't the battery, but it instead needed a part, and that the watch would need to be "re-worked" and that i would need to leave the watch with him for a few days because he needed to order the necessary parts, PLUS, it would cost me $85.00 for the repair. I told him that was entirely WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, then took my watch and went on my merry way. Today, on a good recommendation from a clock company in Carlsbad, I took my watch to "Ocean Time" in Encinitas. The owner, Don, was extremely helpful. It took him only a matter of minutes to diagnose my problem. He told me that the 2nd hand of the watch was "manipulated" (more than likely by Valdivia Jewelers), which was the reason why it was "sticking", and also that there was dust inside the watch. Five minutes later, after Don adjusted the 2nd hand and cleaned out whatever dust was inside my watch, it worked like a charm. TOTAL COST: $5.00. I highly recommend "Ocean Time" to whomever is in need of a good, reasonable, watch repair. Don, the owner, knows what he is doing, is very reputable, and most importantly, WON"T RIP YOU OFF!!!! Ocean Time in downtown Encinitas is a great find! My nice watch was not keeping good time so I wanted it fixed. My regular watch guy wouldn't touch it, and others wanted a fortune to work on it. I saw that Ocean Time on Yelp had great reviews so I went there. He is a watch master! He knows his stuff and now my watch works perfectly, plus he was almost half in price than others. I collect vintage diving watches that all have automatic movements and I always have my watches serviced and or repaired at Ocean Time after I purchase them. It is so refreshing to still find a competent Watch Maker in my home town of Encinitas. The owner is very meticulous and always delivers a superb result to my watches. I have taken him watches that do not work and his magic makes them great time pieces again. The owner is incredibly nice and easy to deal with. I don't give out Yelp reviews for hardly anyone except those businesses that are head and shoulders above the rest and Ocean Time is just such a business. The proprietor is knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled. He got my Dr. Seuss ebay watch going again and was able to hand-paint the hands for legibility. Now it's a custom watch.
