Disgusting, I will never come to ocean sushi again. I was there last night, I ordered a sashimi regular , but the color of tuna didn't seems right. So I didn't finished it. Before I left Ocean sushi. I saw something that makes me sick. I was on my way to the restroom, I saw the workers gave the rest of the dish I eat to sushi chief, they were recycling the leftovers, yes they took the leftover and put it back to the counter and separating them and put it back to food shelf. So disgusted, what is wrong with this restaurant. Where should I call to report this matter? read more

As a Thai/Asian food junkie, this place is just what Winona needed. The restaurant was busy on a Friday night, but the wait was quite short. Service was slow, but of decent quality. Now for the food. I cannot recommend the house curry enough. A solid medium spice level and absolutely delicious. We've been looking for decent curry since moving here and this will be our usual order when we come back. The Tom Yum soup was pretty good, too. The teriyaki chicken was nothing to write home about and was somewhat disappointing. Nonetheless, we really liked the restaurant and the curry and can't wait to try more! read more

This is a great restaurant! The staff are friendly and very patient with those who might not be able to understand them so clearly. Although the decor could use some work, (they still have decorations up from previous holidays), it's a wonderful establishment! The sushi is great and my boyfriend and I personally go there on dates all the time. They once messed up a To-Go order and in return they not only corrected my order, but gave me a full refund and a free soda! The sushi is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented! The good out ways the bad. First off I was super excited to be trying the sushi restaurant as we don't have one in Winona currently. It took around 3 minutes for us to be seated. We got our drinks quick and were asked to order in a good amount of time. After we ordered they brought our food out in different shifts. One of us got there entree before the other one did five minutes later. But once we got the food it was really good. The rice was amazing and the lunch sushi prices were excellent! If you are in Winona, you have to eat here! We are from the Chicago area and this was hands-down the best food I have had ever! The sushi was amazing and presented beautifully. The udon noodles, chicken fried rice and and chicken pad tai were unbelievable. Seriously don't let the location fool you - best food. They have huge portions also and prices are so reasonable. The chef came outside at the end and gave us a complimentary fried mango mouse which was so unique and also beyond believable taste wise. Can't wait to come back! read more

I eat sushi across the country..im happy winona MN finally has a sushi spot in a town that lacks quality restaurants very badly..this food is decent.i had the sushi roll with shrimp and banana it was OK ..Def not the best I've had I'd give it a 6 and half.the shrimp udon noodles were pretty good I'd give em 8.all in all this place should do OK because there are no other option..the decor could be updated a bit i believe that would help also..good luck! read more

Food was good the raw fish I was a little hesitant because every time I get there raw tuna I always feel sick and one time I went there they basically force tipped us on the bill it said graituity 7 dollars to be honest I'm kinda poor I didn't want to tip 7 dollars since it was on the bill I had to I was just going to tip 3-5 dollars most likely 3 and the workers there barley speak English and never say thank you and hi they don't even welcome you they just bring you to a seat and help you order so in general this place is about 1 star for customer kindness and 3 star for the food read more

I want to start this review by saying I have been to ocean sushi about 10 times now and the food is always terrific. The service I had tonight, on the other hand, is what inspired me to literally go home and make an account on Yelp. The waiter finally got to our table for a drink order after we were waiting about 20 minutes. At this point we asked him if we could also order our meal since we had had plenty of time to review the menu. He said we could not place our order because the "cook would get mad." I've never had this happen in my life..the cook was going to get mad about us ordering food?! After we ordered our food (EVENTUALLY) my starter "salad" came. At this point we had been at the restaurant for over one hour, and he completely forgot the dressing. I had lettuce and avocados sitting in front of me. I asked for the ginger dressing and he brought me something else. I asked again for the ginger dressing and finally he brought the correct thing. When he refilled our sodas he gave my diabetic friend a regular instead of diet. After an hour and a half the two people I was with finally got their food. The waiter mentioned nothing about my meal being on the way. Eventually I asked him how long it would be until my order was out. He asked me what I ordered. Apparently he had entered the data in with a different table. WHEN I FINALLY GOT MY GARSH DARN HECKIN PAD THAI I asked for a box and the bill. I asked the waiter to do us a favor and take either my salad or the pad thai off of the bill because 1. the salad was done incorrectly and 2. I didn't get my pad thai until TWO HOURS and 4 reminders later..he refused. and so say adios to my loyalty. TLDR: Worst Service of my entire life. Food was still 100. Experience down to a 1/10 because who the heck wants to wait 2 hours for their food no matter how decent it is. Gave diabetic friend regular soda. highly recommend never dining in. read more

My daughter goes to Winona State and plays on an athletic team so we come to Winona often for games and always take her out to eat afterwards. This is her favorite place to go. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the location in a "mall" that really isn't a mall. ;) But the food is definitely worth it. Sushi rolls are great and the hibachi meals are too. If you have a non-sushi person with you, have them get a hibachi, my non-sushi husband loves it and the platter is HUGE! read more

Love it! Most exciting addition to Winona! Lunch specials are a great deal, especially the Bento Box. For the Midwest the specialty rolls are pretty decent, and the sashimi was also very fresh. For those who are not a big fan of sushi or fish I highly recommend the Hibachi or fried rice plates! read more

This place is fairly new and surprisingly pretty good. The sushi was succulent and the Thai Pineapple fried rice dish I had was a perfect fit for me and made just the way I like it. The seaweed salad tasted the same as another much more fancier restaurant I've been to, which was nice. I've had the Spicy Crunchy Roll, and the Spicy Crab Roll and they are all fulfilling. I have also tried the California Roll from a friend and it was pretty tasty. I tried the Volcano Roll thinking it was going to be tasty, but it was not appetizing at all. The baked salmon was extra chewy and taste like old fish and the texture was not appealing, the rolls fell a part. It got super busy one day and they forgot to put tempura on my tempura roll, but quickly resolved it. My favorite and pricy roll here is the Winona roll, it's so delicious and never disappoints me. The service was friendly and quick, although the staff would often come up to ask questions that had already been taken care of, but overall I would recommend this place. The place is slowly improving and now has wine and more drink options. read more

Excited to try this new restaurant in Winona - a bit disappointed though - after all that anticipation being built up in weeks. Their miso soup was rather bland; so was the sushi rice. The California rolls tasted exactly the same as Philly rolls, and as a matter of fact, all the rolls we ordered tasted very similar. On the bright side, it's not expensive, so I guess that explains why it's not the authentic Japanese food I've been craving for. Not sure about their Thai offerings though, as I generally stay away from spicy food. read more

Very rude servers! We had 3 ladies that helped us at some point, one was luke warm and the other 2 were extremely rude. Had 4 orders of rolls, one specialty and 3 small orders. They were all fishy, we got a lot to go but since we had to drive home rather quickly, since we felt awful, we threw those away when we got home.
