Spicy girl roll
Erica R.

Another work trip, another meal alone. But this one may have been my favorite. At first, I was a little hesitant because it appeared as though this restaurant was in some kind of abandoned mall and might have been closed but when I got to the door, it was very much alive. I was seated promptly in a comfortable booth behind a gorgeous aquarium. Service was impeccable. I was able to order immediately and my food came out quickly. I got the sushi deluxe and I went with the spicy girl roll. Everything was delectable and super filling. The presentation was beautiful as well. All of the prices are tremendously reasonable. If I lived in Winona, I would be a regular here! So good! Definitely don't skip this one!

Food was great! We did a pickup order so I can't speak to the dine in service or ambiance of the restaurant itself. But I can say we tried a variety of their sushi because we weren't sure what to order. It was for a birthday party so I ordered a variety of the special rolls and I have to say the sushi was awesome! We will definitely be a returning customer!

This salad is a nice refreshing flavor bomb and appropriately priced.

I have eaten here a few times and I still haven't been able to scratch the surface of all the delicious options. Every dish has been a delight. Their eel and scallop sashimi is wonderful. I love that they cut their sashimi in larger chunks. The mango shrimp is great comfort food and there mango salad is super fresh. I haven't had a chance to try any of their S/P items as they have never been available during the times i dined. I also wish they had a buffet option. Their menu does a great job competing with other sushi spots in the area.

Amazing and so sweet. My best friends birthday was today and we celebrated here and they where so nice and helpful. The food was sooo good and very reasonably priced for the portions. Adorable small town local restaurants

Came here with my friend after a hockey game. It was the only place she knew in town, and it is connected to a mall. Not a very good start. Ordered a few rolls, miso soup, and seaweed salad. The rolls were average at best. Even for the somewhat cheaper price. The miso soup was pretty good. I would be pretty impressed if they could ruin their miso soup. The seaweed salad was awful. It tasted like plastic and chemicals. When I asked the waitress to take it back and take it off the bill, she grabbed the manager who then proceeded to question wether or not I had ever even tried seaweed salad before. Yes, I have, and that's not what it is supposed to taste like. Here is how I would rate the restaurant: Food - 2 stars Service - 1 star Ambiance - 3 stars

Cute little net thing

We came here for late dinner from out of town and it was pretty good. It was located in a kinda sketchy looking strip mall. But maybe it looked sketchy because it was night time and the light on the sign wasn't on. But they had an open sign in the window which was the only way to know it was open at the time. Also it was a little confusing but you have to walk into the mall entrance to get into the restaurant. We were seated right away. There were a decent amount of people there. The service was pretty good. We didn't have to wait much and the food came pretty fast. We ordered a seaweed salad, salmon roll, spider man roll, shrimp tempura roll, a side of fried rice, and udon noodles with chicken. The seaweed salad was mediocre but was a good portion. I added soy sauce because I thought it lacked flavor. Also not that it matters much but all they had was low sodium soy sauce. Not that I care because that's what I buy at home but others might. The sushi was all really good except on the spider man roll there was this chef special sauce that looked like cum (Sorry for the analogy... I know it's inappropriate but I don't know what else to compare it too) Maybe it was that that made me dislike it. The roll was really good but the taste was funky... I could have done without. Other than that it was good. The fried rice was good and simple. It had peas in it so people that hate peas know that fact. The udon noodles were good. The chicken was great and it had a nice spice. Overall this place surprised me. I didn't expect very much I'm not the biggest fan of the food in winona tbh. I'm a pretty big foodie and the food is mediocre. But the sushi here was pretty good. I'd come back.

Great food, Great Prices, frustrating sometimes when you get staff that doesn't understand English very well.

If there was a way to give this place negative stars I would. My husband and I got food poisoning from there.

Hmong's Golden Egg Rolls - #4 chicken egg rolls and fried rice with their specialty sauce, mmm!

The hype is real about the egg rolls! SO good and crispy and delicious. My friends and I tried the…read morepork ones and we all loved them. It was definitely my favorite out of everything we ordered. We also shared the veggie stir fry (medium spicy), green curry with chicken, veggie pad lad nad, chicken leg quarter, and whole tilapia. The standouts were the veggie stir fry and green curry. They were so flavorful and perfectly seasoned, great over sticky rice. I also love that the rice was served in cute baskets. The tilapia was a little disappointing but I'm glad I tried it. I also ordered the Naab Vaam drink and I loved it! Not overly sweet and very refreshing. I could tell that the place was a bit understaffed that day but overall everyone was friendly. No outdoor seating but plenty of indoor seating. I'd come back again for Hmong's golden pork egg rolls!

My sister took me to her favorite Hmong place and I was not disappointed! We got spring rolls and…read moreegg rolls, both with pork. They tasted great, I loved. the dipping sauces, but the pork was just very very thin strips, can't say I really noticed it, but both were tasty. The egg rolls were different than I've ever had in that they were long and thin - think I prefer them this way. They came out crispy and very hot to the table. We shared the fried chicken leg, which was the drumstick and the thigh, with sticky rice. I loved how they cut it into four pieces and how crispy the skin was. For dessert I had their special drink/dessert the Nab Vam. It is a "tapioca dessert drink filled with colorful jellies, crunchy water chestnuts, chewy pearls, lightly sweet with creamy coconut". It was not only beautiful, but delicious. Service was quick, and it's a bright, airy place, and I definitely would go back again.
