We had the most incredible, amazing time with Meatball and Jeep Surfari LLC. He took us around the island in his jeep to the most fabulous, secluded beaches on the St Thomas. Extremely under rigged for Marlin. We went out and hooked one pretty quickly but also lost it pretty quickly because the drag was locked right down on the reel. The fish snapped 80lb line like it was nothing. It would have been appreciated if the captain was honest and said they weren't really rigged for fish like that read more

Took a snorkeling trip from this company, and because the price was pretty inexpensive, I wasn't expecting much. And when we were greeted in the store by a less-than-friendly young lady, my expectations lowered. But then we went to the boat, and got settled in. The captain, Jake, greeted us and started us laughing right away. Kaylin and Sierra were friendly and efficient, as we went to our first snorkeling spot. And though it was a pretty good swim to the target, it was worth it. Three turtles and a stingray. The next spot was even better, with a shipwreck and crystal clear water. And then the party started. Jake had us laughing and dancing (even the old ones like me), and Sierra started line dancing with the guests. The pizza was delicious, and the sunset was spectacular. Even though there was a little rain on the ride out Spencer made everything so fun and he put us on the fish! We caught a couple tuna, some strawberry grouper on the way back in and plenty of fish I had never even heard of. We went for a 6hr trip hoping to land mahi-mahi. However the mahi bite was just not there today. Capt Bryan did his best. Seas were rough (although they claim to be average seas for the Caribbean lol!) We did land 2 Wahoos (1 small one and 1 really nice one). We also caught a small black fin tuna. As we were going to head in to try some near shore fishing we hooked up with a monster blue marlin!!! We battled the beast for the next hour and a half. 350+lb blue got to the boat before we released him. Awesome battle! I will use Ocean Surfari again when we come back! read more

It is still unbelievable that we were able to see St. Thomas within one day like we did! Choosing to do Jeep Surfari (Meatball) to show us around was one of the best decisions we made even after chartering a 50ft catamaran in the BVI for a week. Due to only having a day and half in St. Thomas, we didn't know where or how to go and see anything. Well Jeep Surfari was the answer! The places and things we saw were so beautiful and rich in culture. Meatball knew the area, people and the food. The places he brought us were from one end of the island to the other. Some of the places were well known, and others that only the locals knew about (and of course, Meatball too). Some of the beautiful places were like no man had ever inhabited them. Jeep Surfari (Meatball) took it to heart when it came to providing us the best experience of St. Thomas. I can not wait to do this trip with our kids and grandkids. A repeat is definitely a must. Sadly the 2017 Hurricane devastated the sea fans and soft coral at most St Thomas snorkel sites. It is great that ocean safari donates to reef heath but will take years to come back as sea fans only grow 1/2 inch per year. Hopefully will return for our grandkids. Sadly PIZZA PI was closed in Christmas cove so we were forced to returned to red hook to get pizza at another less vendor. We did get to see several large sea turtles at one snorkel site read more

We had a great experience with our captain Rob. He is very experienced and knows where to go to catch fish! He really did a great job and made sure we always had a pole with live bait on it!!! He made our 17 year anniversary special and we even had our 3 kids go fishing with us 6, 13, and 15 years old. They had an amazing time and we're so happy that they wished they had more time out a sea. We did the 6 hour fishing trip and we could have done 2 hours more yet we weren't sure how the kids would hold up. . Rob made our day perfect and he was flexible, hardworking and very knowledgeable about fishing . We started off doing some inshore fishing and caught barracuda, trigger fish, grouper, and 1 nurse shark! Then we asked him if we could go fishing for some large fish. Over the last 12 months, I have been extremely fortunate to live and work in the Caribbean. Specifically, St. Thomas, USVI. When I arrived, my plan(s) included lots of fishing. Then, like the rest of the World, my plans were put on hold, and living the "new normal" didn't include much fishing!!! BUT TIMES, THEY ARE A CHANGIN'!!! Today, my first Offshore fishing trip on St Thomas, was spent with Captain Rob Usnick, and Ocean Safari. Rob, recommended an early start. Rob's understanding and experience, proved to be the difference between FISHING AND CATCHING!!! I have spent literally months reading about fishing, "The Northern Drop". But Rob explained that he had caught more and better fish, just beyond the DROP! That slight adjustment put us on Mahi Mahi, as soon as our lines hit the water. The action was FAST AND FURIOUS, we hooked up, boated fish, and reloaded!! All in all, we each have more than enough to eat well for a few days!!! Weather changed quickly, and so did Rob's tactics! With a 5 to 6 line spread, we turned East, hoping to tease a Wahoo, Tuna or perhaps a lost late season Marlin to the surface. My entire life, I had waited to see the strategic deployment of outriggers, with skirted ballyhoo dance atop deep blue water! It proved to be more exciting in life than I could have ever imagined. Moving to the bow of the boat, I saw reels and lines expertly placed, inviting the target species to join us for lunch!! Unfortunately, weather, and fish are unpredictable. The first run was against 5-7 foot seas and a head wind that was difficult at best. On the turn, Rob's exuberance,never faded. No, it had him changing "The Spread". Adding, subtracting and fine tuning. As he righted the boat, for our return trip, with the wind, and related to time was half. Watching Captain Rob Usnick, it's very apparent, he loves putting people on fish!!! And is passionate about ensuring his guests have an experience of a lifetime. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this snorkeling sunset excursion, and especially when lead by Captain Jake and his shipmates/bartenders Sierra and Ren. Do not miss this experience! Captain Jake (from State Farm, as Jake reminded us ) was somehow both crazy-fun and uncompromisingly safe-professional for the entirety of our 6 hour cruise. Our group of 4 (mature adults) had an absolute blast on our afternoon tour of the waters around Saint Thomas and Saint Johns. Captain Jack provided little bits of pirate history and myth as we motored our way to two prime snorkeling spots. Later in the afternoon we were treated to rum drinks, party music, pizza delivery (yes, on the boat!), and a beautiful sunset worthy of several toasts and a romantic slow dance. The party (and sing alongs!) continued all the way back to the pier. I want to point out that our fellow shipmates ranged in age from 5 years old to over 60 years young and everyone was beaming at the end of the cruise. Sometimes it's hard to decide what tour to take when looking online. My husband and I chose this one as it had a variety of activities in one outing. Well, we definitely were happy with our choice. What a great time! We snorkeled in two spots, seeing turtles, rays, and reef fish. We even saw a majestic spotted eagle ray! The pizza delivery to the boat was a real treat, very unique. The sunset was spectacular, the music was perfect, and the drinks were flowing. There were couples and families, even small children on board. Everyone had a blast. Our crew members were outstanding, helping to make it a wonderful day all around. Our captain, Juan was fun and knowledgeable. He really kept the party going with his jokes, music, and dancing. The mates, Ren and Sierra, were efficient, personable and super helpful. They all took the time to talk to everyone on board and make them comfortable. This charter was late, the equipment was not ready for use and there was trash left from the previous charter. the captain had to much to handle between driving the boat, setting up the lines and helping out teaching the kids how to fish on the ocean. Our captain was very kind and helpful, so I don't fault her. however for the money this was not the company I would recommend going through for a fun family adventure. read more
