$340 to show up. He was here 5 minutes as there was air in the pipes. No paperwork other than his card.

I figured with summer and covid they were busy so I tried to give the benefit of the doubt at first. I've called several times trying to see what's going on and everytime get told "Oh he is very busy. Oh I will make sure he sees this." The 2 stars is for the receptionists are always pleasant even if they are shining me on. The man who came to measure was nice, quick, and wore a mask in the house and answered all of our questions (just not how much- still waiting for that). It is a shame I'd actually respect the company if they could just be honest and say we aren't taking new clients, we are X weeks backed up, or we don't want to come out to your town instead of stringing me along to wilt in the heat.

The service guy was here for about 5 minutes and charged me $250. We live on the same street as this business. I had called to ask about the charge and was told I would receive a call back AND that they would not deposit my check until the owner Tom spoke to me. Tom never called. Tom cashed my check. Tom doesn't run an honest business. Tom makes his employees look bad. Tom will take your money and run. I learned my lesson...hopefully you will all learn from my mistakes.

One year ago Dan Labelle (owner of Midstate) installed a whole-house high efficiency unit in my…read morehouse. I am happy with the unit. But I am not happy at all with Dan, hence with Midstate Heating and Cooling. Let me tell you why: First of all, the installation: He took his sweet time to complete the job.His favorite answer was 'tomorrow', when asked when will he finish. He would take off in the middle of the day for 'emergencies', as if my money (and I paid him whatever he wanted and on time, no question asked) was no good. When something would not work very well, he would get angry and throw his tool on the ground or whatever was close to him, denting my brand-new washer in the process. He talked very disrespectfully to my father (found that out later - I would have fired him on the spot), and was acting and talking in a condescending manner at all times. Also, during installation, he reduced my cold water inlet pipe to 1/2 inch, so I have no water pressure anymore - he said afterwards that 1/2inch PEX has the same flow as 3/4inch copper!!! Anyway, the unit is working, and I have nice heat and hot water, so that made me look over the other way on all the above. But this is not all, as one of the pipes started leaking after a few months. I tried tightening it myself, but it didn't stop. Well, he gave me a one year warranty on his labor. Do you think he came to fix it? Off course not! He never answered his phone. I tried calling him for the past 8 months, and when he picks up by mistake, he says he will come fix it 'tomorrow'!!! Yeah right... That tomorrow never came... This is a small leak to repair. What if the whole system didn't work? This became a matter of principle, as I am thinking about suing him for not honoring the terms of installation/warranty contract. I have 6 friends asking about the unit, are serious about having one installed, and they want the name of the guy. Should I give them Dan's number? Of course not. The unit works OK, but when it comes to the aggravation you have to deal with, I cannot recommend him to anyone.
