Very unfriendly staff, wouldn't give me a refund for a commuter pass to a Charles Eisenstein…read moreretreat that I signed up for five days before it began, then realized a personal spiritual process was too much for me to attend (I had a transformative medicine ceremony two weeks prior). The negative vibe and attitude and lack of heart from this org is striking, considering they host events like Charles Eisenstein. Such a stark contrast from his mission and stalwart example. Shameful in my opinion, and I would encourage everyone to steer clear. I'm sure they'll say, "Sorry, it's in the cancellation policy that we don't offer refunds, but rather credit for future retreats." Well, sorry, I believe in a more heart centered approach, recognizing that I need the $380 way more than you do. I don't have much.

There is a central function room that can be used for so many things ..we used it for our art studio work and instruction times. In the room there is heat and air conditioning or you can open the windows and doors to get wonderful fresh air. The whole center is located right on the beach. Absolutely beautiful. There are a number of cabins and a couple dorm style areas. The cafeteria is spacious and so nice. The food is fresh and the recipes are well executed. (Every meal we ate too much because it was so good.) The people who work around the center are friendly and generous and helpful. Multiple groups can be there at the same time. We are planning to use this place again next year we were so impressed.

While many will disagree with this review a few of us experienced RV'ers will know exactly why I…read morerated this RV resort the way I did. In fairness the park is doing its best to become a 100% seasonal owner RV park. The management should place the traveling RV's in a separate part of the park away from the seasonal residents until this transition is complete. However until this is done, those of us who have been on the road for six months or longer and have stayed in more parks than we can remember, we are not looking for a park that crams your RV into a spot that will hardly hold a tent, hours of annoying loud music vibrating your RV and shaking your windows, huge hundred pound dangerous breed dogs being walked by children, teens having golf cart races, a safe place to walk your small dogs without having tons of children scaring them and laughing about it, neighbors acting like drunken fools at midnight, free WiFi that never works however you are offered an upgrade at an additional cost, etc, etc. I believe by now you get the idea. Don't get me wrong, if this is what you are looking for in a RV park then this is your park. Matter of a fact it deserves a five star for managing to even fit a 32' travel trailer in between several RV's that are decked out with storage buildings, elaborate decks/sunrooms, fences and vehicles lining the small road. I can't make this up, one of the sites on the end actually built a Windsor wall to prevent anyone from turning down "their" road. Because of this you have to navigate up to 20 vehicles that line the road then blind back your RV into a tiny spot. Most experienced travelers are seeking piece and quite which is a far cry in this park. The only reason I booked this park was because I had stayed in another Sun Resort in Mystic Connecticut that was perfect for my age group. That particular park was very quite and laid back with plenty of room to walk my two small six pound dogs without having to torture them to walk in the middle of the street holding their urine and poop while passing by RV's with people glaring warnings not to allow your pet to not unleash its bladder or bowels on their little tiny spot in this world and the fear of getting mauled by huge dogs on chains not being watched by their owners. However it's ok for them to allow their pet to drop huge piles on your campsite and keep walking. My wife and I felt like the park pooper scoopers. I don't want this type of drama. All I want is peace and quiet. Why campgrounds think that experienced RV'ers want to deal with this is beyond me. I actually know exactly what a sardine feels like in a can after my stay here. The staff was nice, especially Phil, who by the way was doing his best to help me thread a camel through the eye of a needle while backing (for which I have over 40 years of doing so) however someone on his pocket radio thought something else was more important. However don't trust what they tell you about sites being booked. I asked three times to move to a couple different sites that I watched empty my entire visit, however I was told they were reserved. Getting hooked up and pulling out was a nightmare with trucks and cars parked out into the middle of the street. Some campsites had as many as 12 people and five vehicles staying in one RV across from us. When I checked in I ask for a good quite spot. What I received was far from it. I believe I would have been better off boon docking at Walmart. The night before I left I had to walk around the park and politely ask people to clear their vehicles off the road to make room to pull my truck and camper out. What a nightmare. I'm sure the management will respond with something smart to say, however they will probably be right. I should have looked for a park that advertises large private campsites without seasonal RV'ers and without all the bells and whistles. To Sun Corporation, it's only a matter of time before a small child gets mauled to death by a vicious dog, drowns in your pool where parents don't stay with them, someone getting seriously injured by a child racing a golf cart or a child getting ran over by a vehicle from walking out between all the trucks and cars that line each side of the small roads. Your goal should be to look at Seaside in Mystic Connecticut and try to model that park.

The staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful, and genuinely pleasant throughout our stay. That said, the campground feels noticeably more crowded than it did a couple of years ago. The former ropes course has been removed and replaced with additional campsites, cabins, and RV spots. While I understand the need to grow, the extra density has taken away some of the charm and space that made the campground feel more family friendly. Traffic was another concern. There seemed to be more golf carts and vehicles than before, often moving too quickly through the campground. With limited traffic calming measures, I didn't feel as comfortable letting kids ride their bikes around as I did on previous visits. Noise was the biggest issue. The train passing through at night wasn't ideal, but it was manageable. More disruptive was a large group of young adults camping nearby who partied until after 2 a.m. both nights. Between the late night noise, and a car alarm that sounded for an extended period overnight, getting a good night's sleep was nearly impossible. Overall, this is still a campground with great amenities, a fantastic location, and exceptional staff. However, the increased crowding, traffic, and late-night noise have made it feel less family oriented than it used to, especially in the tent camping areas.

It comes though about 3 times throughout the night and literally shakes the ground. Be sure to not to camp near the railroad tracks!! Weekends are packed and it's wall to wall people. There are so many rental trailers and alot of seasonal permanent trailers! As with any beach scene you have alot of people who are there to party, the campground has its share of loud rude campers. If quiet is what you're looking for, this probably wouldn't work for you. I will say the playgrounds are very nice and the pools are very nice. It's very close to the beach which is convenient. For a camping site with electric and water I paid $129 a night in the middle of July from Wednesday through Monday.
