Mud and more mud... Huge campground/RV resort! We chose a site in the "Big Rig" section because we travel with a 41' 5th Wheel. Our site was wide but we barely fit for length and the roads were tight with lots of trees. No gravel for parking and very little grass. Great location, lots of amenities, but mainly seasonal stays. Appears the better sites are used for them. At the price point we paid we expected more...we'd love a better site with less "frills."

Great stay at Baileys Love this part of maine. Very friendly staff and lots to do. Great cable etc...

The damage is from back to front. There is a foot long brown scrape before the dent.

I just got home from camping at Bailey's. I waited until I got home to write this review because their is absolutely no cell service and their wifi is spotty and weak. Last Thursday morning 8/5/21, I realized that my vehicle had been damaged when the family beside me had pulled out of site M47. I went to the office to inform them that I needed to file a police report & I would like them to contact the people that had left M47. I believe they don't know that they hit me. The tail swing must have hit the side of my vehicle, these sites are very small, the road out is narrow & there is a tree that had to be swung around as well as a fire pit. I called Scarborough PD the officer came and informed me that according to Maine state law you can only file an accident report if you have an accident on a public road. Bailey's is private property so I can not file an accident report. I needed to handle this with Bailey's. I went back to the office & told them what the officer said. I again asked them to contact the family that had left and inquire about possible damage to their camper. Bailey's refused to call them. Now I am going to have to pay the deductible to have my vehicle repaired. I understand the temptation to go stay at the most expensive campground in Maine, but don't forget there is a 5 night minimum so you won't be just going for the weekend. And if anything happens to your property Bailey's will not help you.

Don't have a camper, want to go camping and get the experience without the bugs and wet sleeping bag? Well that was me. With a family of 6 we don't really fit into a hotel comfortably or cheaply. We've toyed around with the idea of buying a camper but it just seems like too much work. So I looked around and found the next best option...renting a cabin at a campground. For the Cabin and grounds: Pros At a campground Fire pit Hot showers Pools and Hot tub (must be over 18) Lots of kids On site store On site entertainment Friendly campers and staff Easy check in and check out Screened in porch Full kitchen for cooking Frig, Microwave, A/C, TV Shuttle to the beach Mini golf Paddle boats Rental bikes of all kinds Cable hook up in living room and on outside porch Lots for the kids to do Pet Friendly specific areas Cons Shuttle to the beach ends early Kitchen needs a few more items Need to bring towels for bathing and for swimming No paper towels, soap, or dish washing liquid (need to bring your own) AC in the main living room so the back bedrooms can get hot If a guest comes to visit they need to pay a day fee to get in (I hated this. My brother lives in Maine and we had hoped to sit have a coffee and catch up. He didn't come to swim, fish etc but to visit so paying the day pass wasn't worth it.) Wifi signal does not work (no Yelping here) Kids biking everywhere and don't look for cars (not Bayley's fault though) No broom or mop handy (the floor gets sandy after a week at the beach and a spill is a mess with only a few napkins) Clean, friendly and helpful staff. We had a few light bulbs out and someone came over in a golf cart right away to fix things Things to bring: Rope to hang towels from the tree Tarp to cover stuff if it rains Towels for bathing and for swimming Bug and Sun spray Sleeping bags are easier than sheets and blankets Quarters for games, parking, laundry Paper towels and a variety of soaps (Toilet paper is supplied since they have a special sanitation waste system) We got tickets for daily mini golf and for go cart racing. We didn't leave enough time in the day to go for the go car "lesson" which is required before you can actually race (for insurance reasons) bummer that we missed out on this. Book early (this time of the year) to get the best location and price. This place is super big and worth checking out during the off time to find the best spot for you. Some of the camp sites are right on top of each other so taking a tour when it is slow was helpful. Lastly - get ready for fun!

Ask the Community - Bayley's Camping Resort

Do they have rental units on site ? or park models for rent?

Hi Darrell-Yes, we offer on-site rental trailers and rental cabins. Please visit our website at bayleysresort.com and click "Ways to Stay" at the top for more information. Thank you!

What area of the park would you recommend for a 26 ft camper trailer and a family with a 5 and 8 year old? Children are outgoing and we don't mind noise. Thanks

We will be seeking compensation for those damages. They broke dishes, caused the pantry door to fly open and all our groceries to fall out ruined.). This place is not well-maintained at all. The sites are practically on top of each other. There is no room to set up anything. Anything you need to do here is an additional charge. The bathrooms are sweltering and full of bugs (Who builds a campsite next to a swamp?!). There never seems to be anyone in the office during the business hours they claim, and those are only 1-7:00PM. It's brilliant on their part. Checkout is two hours before the office opens, so you won't be able to complain or get anything handled before you leave. Forget getting firewood, but that's OK, 'cause there is no room for a campfire anyway. You're not allowed to actually use the trashcans or dumpster for normal travel waste, by the way. Signs say no food or beverages, food containers, etc. This place is unbelievably cramped and crowded with not nearly enough facilities for this many people. The seasonal people are unbelievably rude to the short term stay folks (no idea why). And there truly odd people wandering around in the middle of the night. No kids is a plus for noise, but I'd rather have kids disrupting the quiet than relentless, massive, swamp bugs. Also, they allow dogs.. bark all night, yap all day, untrained, loud, sometimes leashed dogs. Avoid. You are better off at a truck stop, rest area or parking lot. We will be requiring a refund as well as compensation for the damages to our motorhome and belongings. But since the operators make sure to not be available, we'll have to seek our reimbursement/refund when we get home.

I am 40, am an engineer and my mother is 70 and a retired high school teacher. I have a five year old and live with my mom. I have owned three properties over the years. I say all this background because it's necessary for this story. Oh and I am very quiet, have held a security clearance, a marathon runner blah blah blah. My mom sold her condo and we have a move out date on June 15. We decided to get an rv for the season and stay at a campground. We picked this one. They said we were all set to move our rv to the site for May 21st. Then on May 20th in the afternoon they call and basically say our family dynamic is unacceptable and we can't move in. Yes I have a girlfriend. She doesn't live with us but stays often. She has been an Americore worker plus worked with homeless for years. Apparently we would look to out of place. First - to tell us this about 16 hours before move in is unacceptable, after a couple weeks of saying you're fine. To be that judgmental and prejudiced is unacceptable. I have zero respect for this campground and wish all who read this to boycott. Mary Ellen you are not a good person. In one voicemail to my mom you state how she's anxious and also say it will be fine! Turns out she had good reason to be anxious. To treat others like you do is not ok. I found that anxious comment very off at the time and in retrospect it is telling on many levels. Be ashamed! What you have done to good people is wrong on many levels. I state all this personal stuff to highlight how ridiculous being turned away from a campground is. I have owned nice homes in very nice communities and never thought a pathetic campground would turn me away, what a joke.
