I just stayed here this weekend...in a tent =) For the record, this is solely an RV/camper park during the peak season, which I assume is from Memorial day to Labor day. As I understand it, and Donna explained this on the phone before I left my home-they don't typically take tent campers-except for in the off season... Well to be honest, I was very hesitant when I realized it was an RV park because typically RV people and tent people are looking for a different experience, different amenities and to some extent, are in different age groups... Now having said all that, I like this place from the second I got there. I met Donna first, and she was sweet as punch. I wasn't made to feel like a lesser person because I wasn't sleeping in an RV-and I can tell you this does happen.
I met Ray shortly after, and he tucked me away in the back of the cozy park-which I really appreciated.
The park itself is fairly small, I guess about 50 sites total, but each one has everything a person with RV would need...and while I didn't need cable, phone or sewer...I did use the water, electric (to charge my phone, computer, etc.) and I you know I couldn't stay "unplugged" all weekend-so they WIFI throughout the park came in handy!!!
The bathrooms were so clean and warm (yes heated baby!) that I showered both days-which I def. don't always do when camping because of the facilities.
I didn't make it into the game room, nor did I use the pool (it was the last weekend of April), but I did play some shuffle board and toyed with the game that I have heard called by many names, but I refer to as ladder golf.
Oh, the showers are paid, but at $1 for 8 minutes (bring some quarters) and $.25/each additional 2 mins-but I have no problem chipping in for water and clean, warm bathrooms.
Wood was $6 a bundle, and the rest of supplies were fairly priced (ice $2),
People that I interacted with were friendly, but not nosy. This place has a great vibe and in the off season I could see myself returning. My girlfriend felt safe walking alone to the bathroom-and that isn't always the case in a new place. Bottom line, this is a nice place that is well maintained. The proprietors are nice people and the regulars seem to be kind as well.
I say if you are in the area, check this place out! read more
